AirfoilLabs 737-Max …

Featured Replies

I try to stay optimistic on XP12 aircraft … I do … honestly … it’s just release history on XP12 aircraft from developers can be 1, 2, 3 years later or maybe even never (pessimism has been beaten into my XP12 expectations).

But I really really hope this evolves into reality sometime this year.

Thoughts?  Real?

I think from this developer, it is little different.

AirfoilLabs is filling a void at that time that seem to never get fill by a freeware solution from Levelup but offer a compelling aircraft that many will pay for the privilege of having.

The market for the MAX has been starve for this aircraft since the first announcement from Levelup back in the early days of Xplane 11.
AirfoilLabs know how bad everyone is looking forward to this aircraft and have been very transparent with their progress and updates and I think they coming along as you can see, very nicely.

I'm sure they know how important to make good on getting these aircraft release. In spite of the fact the Level up has not release their version of the MAX, they still are planning to do one but it's only a question of when after the release of their V2 of their Boeing 737 variants.

One thing I can say, at least we have some idea that one is coming from AirfoilLabs

Not sure when its coming, but it’s definitely on the way.

AFL does GREAT work. They have gone a bit long between bug fixes in the past, but their C172 and King Air 350 are basically my favorite light GA aircraft addons.

I’m almost willing to buy their MAX on day 1, but it’s a heckuva jump up from a KA350, so I’m going to wait at least a week or two and check out reviews, etc.

Interesting thing is that I don’t much care about the MAX vs the NG. They’re so similar it’s (theoretically) not worth it to buy a MAX when I could go on being just fine with the Zibo.
or the FF 757

or even get crazy and figure out the Toliss A346 I just bought but have barely scratched the surface with…

so I’m not in any hurry for another modern 737, but im looking forward to considering whether it’s worth it vs Zibo, iFly and PMDG, et al.

Am i the only one not waiting for another 737 ? ... 😜

We always live thinking about what's coming next and don't enjoy what we already have. I don't have time to enjoy everything I have: X-Plane (CL650, 777, Toliss, Zibo...), Steel Beasts, BMS, DCS.

We would really like a decent MAX, if that exists, even IRL ...

Airfoillabs has given me good reasins to believe on their work, só, as others say abive, let's really hope for the Best!

You are right, but i simply have enough of 737 - maybe i am too long in this hobby ...

I have their Cessna 172s, and for such a basic aircraft, it's extremely heavy on the framerates (although very nice). I can't even begin to imagine how heavy a full-blown 737-Max is going to be.

I do not know about 172, but KA350 is well balanced.

Huh?  You can’t do both?  I enjoy what I have and I look forward and want what is coming next.  Once I’ve figure out everything I want to figure from an aircraft, I move onto the next aircraft to discover how it’s simulated and how it works and how it flies … sorta the point in my flight simulation existence as flying the same aircraft over and over and over … well that sounds more like work than entertainment.

I have Airfoillabs 172 and 350 but neither of them seem to work with my GNS 750 (XPReality nor TDS) … developer found an issue, but workaround didn’t work for me … changes to how the new Beta works seems to be causing preventing of adding GNS 750.  But I guess the 737 Max is their development priority which is fine.

TDS works perfectly with my KA350

LOL I have been mediating along these lines lately. I have enough stuff in multiple platforms to keep me busy several hours a day for the rest of my life yet have an irresistible compulsion to spend more on something new. A restless spirt I guess or sometimes it's just curiosity. Oh well, life be short and that's a fact.

Did you add TDS before or after the XP12 Beta run with threading changes?
