Chaseplane is really awesome…

Featured Replies

The cameras in 2024 have been a struggle, but Chaseplane fixed all that for me. It really transformed the way i use MSFS 2024 and that $30 was money well spent. I like the fact i can easily import / export entire views for any plane, making it easy to leverage the work i did setting up the A350-900 to be used on the A350-1000. Being able to have views that automatically turn off TrackIR is another great feature, but the best thing about Chaseplane is everything is intuitive. That isn’t an easy thing to do when you have these capabilities. It really is worth the money imo.

Agreed, I couldn't do without it. So much more intuitive than the default camera system.

MSFS

I'm still testing SU4 and I'm considering buying both add-ons. I have FS Realistic, I just have to upgrade to + and buy Chaseplane.

It reminded me of add-on called EZDOK. I loved the effects it added to any airplane.

MSFS

Not essential but I recommend you team ChasePlane up with a StreamDeck

Can't relate to this sentiment personally.  I have no need for more than 10 views per plane in fact really only use 8, and I find 'Ctrl-Alt-#' about as easy as can be to set a camera position.  Each camera position is assigned to the same controller buttons per plane and can't imagine it getting any easier than that as it takes less time to setup a new plane using the default cameras than when I used CP in 2020, so never installed CP in 2024.  I still may but since a camera API was released going to hang on a little longer and see if someone comes up with a Fly-By option which should be a piece of cake to create.  I do agree though that setting up cameras in CP for 2020 was intuitive/straightforward, just slower and more steps than in the default system, IMO.

I thought the same thing. But 10 views per plane is extremely limiting to me. I also like being able to preview views others in the community have shared. Importing/exporting views between planes is a huge time saver. Moving between interior, exterior and cinematic views with a single click from my flight-stick controller just opens up the access. But if you like the default camera system, no need to spend $30. I get it.

I actually already spent the $30 as I used it in 2020.  I found fine tuning camera positions tedious in CP, compared to the default system.  But absolutely if I had the need for more cameras I'd re-go there...and still may sometime if someone doesn't release a good FB and T view applet.

They've been very easy for me and I am usually struggling with this sort of thing.  I use the xbox controller for fine tuning.

That said, I don't have elaborate camera positions.

Once I learned this trick** fine-tuning became a piece of cake.  And TBH it's really only my main IFR pilot camera that needs tuning and that only because plane developers of planes using a HUD don't offer zoom control for HUD graphic only--that would be much more ideal.

If I'm not mistaken then you should be able to download the 2024 edition of Chaseplane for free if you already have a copy in 2020. All you have to do is enter "CPWEN" into the coupon box during checkout.

Yes I think you're right, I just don't have any interest in it save for the FB and T views, and it's not worth the install and setup for those.  If someone (hint hint!) takes advantage of the new camera API and does a simple FB/T view applet I'm sure they'll make good money for very little work, or so it seems from just playing around w/ the default cam system.
