Flysimware Lancair Legacy

Yep.  Fitted to a number of high performance singles (Legacies, Cessna Corvalis, some Vans aircraft, etc).

Indeed - speed brakes, and they work quite well.  I remember with the old RealAir Legacy one of the fun things I'd do was to challenge myself to manage descent and approach to landing without using them.

It was really hard.  It's one slipperly airplane!

Well one thing is for sure, the product will have amazing detail and will work.  Visually it is stunning. No smoke and mirrors like some developers as the detail under the covers is well thought out and designed to mimic real world operation. I like the variants they are offering as well to give you choices.  It looks like this is going to be another great add to my hangar.  My collection of their offerings is growing and can’t wait for the chieftain as well.  Keep them coming!

FSW is debuting with the STARHAWK Lancair Legacy with all its custom features, an EAA Grand Champion and Stan Dzik Award for Outstanding Design Contribution.  Subsequent releases will be more typical stock kit Legacy airplanes and then releases of famous Legacy racers. 🙂

Someone posted earlier that it's going to be great on the "magenta line" -- yes, it's great for getting places fast -- but it's also a great low altitude exploration vehicle with its bubble canopy, terrific visibility.  Here are some short videos of STARHAWK, Earth Exploration Vehicle (EXV) in action...

In the red corner, FSW, in the blue corner A2A 🥊🥊

I’ll be in the middle with both 😎

What’s interesting to me is that they’ve got those big openings - I don’t think I’ve seen “perforated” brakes/spoilers like that outside of (really) old military bombers…?

Something to with parasitic drag when retracted, whereas this is fully enclosed when retracted?

Think of them as little Red Dusters out there, flowing majestically in the wind.

Turbocharged variant, naturally aspirated variant, and my favorite, the Starhawk variant which recreates Valin Thorn's Lindy-winning Legacy.

FSW actually got to fly the Starhawk with Valin -- he loved it.

I think @ryanbatc and I will be glued to the computer for a loooong time when it releases 😁

I can easily see this airframe becoming my most flown in flight sim, so that makes three of us 😎

im hoping FSW are giving the “full” CFD treatment to this one as they did with their Lear 2.0…?

will be interesting to compare/contrast to AccuSim FM.

And, naturally, to the Aerobask version in XP(!).

to be clear, I’m not trying to pick a fight/winner, I just really enjoy compare / contrast, esp with Hi Fi addons.

I don't think we have to (pick a winner).  I think they will all be winners.   That Starhawk livery is sooooo neat.

I think between these Legacy aircraft and then the Phenom 300E, I will have most my flying set up for the last half of 2026.

It appears FSW has now also obtained the rights/licensing to use the "Lancair" name for the product 😎

Steam version has been released. Testing now. Pretty cool, but appears to be pretty heavy on the system though!
