March 29Mar 29 The new API appears to have made it smoother, but the slider settings are nothing like before. I have wasted an hour on this and I am still some distance from getting it back like before (Pre SU5) Any idea which settings give all the degrees of freedom (forward/backwards and higher/lower?), I seem to get close to the side to side speed setting I want, then lose this ability. Thanks in advance for any replies. Hopefully we can have some starter setting for all users, as I don't understand half of the terminology on the sliders. I already had good settings similar to yours in SU4 - they worked great. Unfortunately it is all changed for SU5. There are about twice as many sliders and the descriptions are vague. It's completely different - all messed up, and the old working settings don't carry over. There will be a some unhappy Tobii users when the SU5 final goes live (not long now), unless maybe we can put some good new slider settings together on here to give users a start. It's just another thing Asobo have changed and made difficult to no real advantage as far as I can see. Still... we have a nice picture of the tobii on the settings page now - great! Sure. See Ali's picture above to see what I mean about the changes. Hopefully those settings will be a good start. I will experiment. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Oh I see, I am looking at that now: Previously the values for Head Tracking Sensitivity for Pitch and Yaw were combined, now they are standalone. I assume I would use the same value for both then. Or I could play around with the individual values, maybe it allows for a smoother transition in head movement. ...same with Head Tracking Sensitivity for Position: X, Y, Z whatever that is. Experimenting needed. Not sure what Head Tracking Limit for Position: X, Y, Z is either. Not sure what Camera Boost Ratio is. Maybe some sort of Zoom Factor. Maybe some sort of Zoom Factor. it gives some kind of invisible wall (boarder) so when you lean, your head will stop before going out of cockpit walls for example. it boosts head movement, you can look around the cockpit with a small head movement with out increasing the speed of movement, depends on how high of sensitivity you wish, it requires some fiddling with. April 18Apr 18 Just updated 1.7.21.0. My first SU5 Beta. Add to set new Tobii settings. Thanks to all for this discussion. Here'se mine. Not 100% satisfied. Too much sensitive. But really appreciate the possible to adjust settings forward/backward Vincent B. Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.

It's completely different - all messed up, and the old working settings don't carry over. I don't have the SU5 beta but ny advice would be to use Opentrack, which is a lot clearer and has access to all the available functions. It looks like Asobo is converging on all the same settings available in the tobii/Opentrack setup, but they are still falling way short. The curves, for example, appear to be missing, and the ability to set up asymmetric axes. The tobii web site gives very clear instructions on the one-time Opentrack setup. Once you have it installed, you get a much clearer options page in the tobii GameHub. Asobo should also rename the 'eye/head tracking ratio' option to acknowledge that eye tracking and head tracking are distinct functions with no real connection. In the Opentrack/Gamehub setup you can turn either on or off independently. Likewise 'camera boost ratio', which is even more cryptic than just calling it 'camera boost'. Assuming 'Camera Boost' still works the way tobii describes it, If you have this slider set to anything other than 0 the 'eye tracking vs head tracking ratio' will be ignored and eye tracking will not move the view at all. 'Camera boost' basically uses eye tracking as a YES/NO flag to modify the 'sensitivity' (i.e. amount of motion scaling) of an axis depending on whether your eyes are looking straight ahead or not. (Most of the Camera Boost settings are also missing from the Asobo setup page.) If you want to see some of this in the sim, my recent video demonstrates and compares the setup features available for tobii and TrackIR. May 12May 12 I'm considering getting a tobii5 and was curious if the freeze tracking (Not sure if that is what it is exactly called) is now resolved in SU5? I saw complaints dating back to older versions of fs2024 where people complained that the turn off tracking key bind would force the view back to somewhere else as opposed to just freezing where the camera was. thoughts? 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
May 12May 12 I use Tobii and I still think it’s worth having for cockpit flying, especially IFR, but I wouldn’t buy it purely because SU5 might have fixed that freeze behavior. I haven’t tested that specific pause/freeze case enough in SU5 to say it’s fully resolved now. What I can say is the general head tracking side is very usable once you dial it in, and for me it feels much more natural than hat-switch panning. If that one freeze/pause behavior is the deciding factor for you, I’d wait for a few more confirmed reports after SU5 is out of beta.
