    Better delayed than released broken.

I keep spamming the refresh on this topic. The ATR is one of my favourite aircraft - but slightly broken in MSFS. Like a previous poster, I'd rather it was all fixed than rushed out half-baked. I hope

I completed my first flight from EDDW to EKCH after the update. All went fine. I found only one inaccuracy: Although I had programmed the FMS to ILS Rwy 04R approach and Nav Autotune was hooked, it did not automatically set the ILS to 109.30/37°. Btw, no third party EKCH.

This plane has the new weather radar, right? an we see how that's going?

Weird: turning on the STORM switch makes the backlights come on. You can turn it back off and they stay on. So many little bugs you think they would have caught in the "fixed" version. I want this plane to be good SO badly. We are missing the entire regional airline segment.

I am having an issue with the integrated panel lighting in the ATR-42. The knobs on the center panel don't do anything when I go through the startup process. But, they DO work if I start on a runway. So I feel like maybe I am missing something power-related, but I have followed the checklist. Any idea why I can't get any lights?

Weird, works for me.

VNAV actually does something now.

Dude I cannot believe that reflection stuff is the same in real life. It just looks like a repetitive image. If you look at the msfs forum so Reflection at the cockpit window is crazy. Share pls if this is normal.

Yes the ATR has wild reflections at night and it’s SUPER annoying.

This Hans Hartman stuff levels below Carenado in my mind meanwhile regarding long standing bugs, new small bugs, ridiculous bugs.

I guess I have to agree, but it also puzzles me.

A (long) while ago, Hans Hartman had a very good reputation, developing very solid aircraft & systems.
However nowadays (since FS2020, it seems he lost his touch. Either deliberately or coincidentally.
Very unfortunate

After sorting out my starting issues (one of which was not removing the engine covers etc, which I think has caught a few simmers out) the only real issues are a lack of cockpit lighting and unable to enter destination environmental data on VNAV approach 2/2). The panels are quite dark even in the daytime. Minor stuff and I'm really enjoying this rendition. A change from the heavy tin.

Cheers

I find the exterior lights almost invisible ...

Count me in. I spent like painful 10 minutes to figure out why the engine failed to start. And another 15 minutes to find out that the gust lock is the cause why prop brake failed to operate.

And no matter what I did, cruise speed is just 170knots. Typical ATR but it is still arguably underpowered.

7/10. It is mainly better because several essential bugs in 2020 are fixed and the textures are nicer.

I struggle to get over 12,000ft. Never was a problem with the 2020 version.

Well where to start. I haven't got off the ground yet and the list goes on. I had very few problems with it in 2020.

Unable to import a flightplan from Simbrief, no ground power, won't import a flightplan from the default EFB, unable to shut both the passenger door and the cargo door, trim doesn't work, cannot change assignments for any of the controls as the assigned controls are blank, the aircraft appears to power down when turning the battery on, unable to turn on the fuel pump for tank #1 as so on etc.

I got to love this bird in 2020 but sooo many things don't work for me in 2024 I am about to give up. I have been able to get a few things working when reading tips in the forums but still not able to get it up in the air when starting from cold and dark which I was used to doing in 2020. Any help would be much appreciated.

Just curious, did you go to Marketplace and update the addon from there?
