May 5May 5 I have the original A2A Comanche for 2020 and see there's a 24 installer included with the download. I'd be interested in hearing feedback from anyone who is flying this in 24, as I'd rather not have to drop a load of cash on the 2024 version that is native to the platform. Or maybe the 2024 native version is worth the purchase. Interested in thoughts. May 5May 5 I used it happily but I'm not an expert. The native version is only around £11 so I just went for it. Rob Jones.
May 5May 5 The upgrade for 2024 should only be $15 if you have the original 2020 version so probably worthwhile just going for that.
May 5May 5 I upgraded to the 2024 version, as above it wasn't expensive but it's also yet another bit of expenditure. I'm very pleased with the 2024 version, it performs beautifully in the sim. The main features of the upgrade, being made in 2024 it has native lod support, gauges, the 2024 walk-around (if that floats your boat), naive 2024 efb support - which I personally really like with access to the 2024 flight planner - more avionics options such as the STEC 90gps and the WT G5 unit is coming. If there were flight model changes I couldn't detect them. However, the 2020 version, by using the 2024 installer you have works fine in 2024 without the native upgrade. The main problem I have with this aircraft is that reminds me the rest of my GA hanger is simply inferior to what A2A have managed to do with the sim.🤷♂️ Edited May 5May 5 by DD_Arthur
May 5May 5 Author Thanks guys. More or less my own thoughts TBH. But as I've got older I tend to be a little more careful with my cash! But sure, it's probably worth the upgrade, due to the fact that it is such a great bird. May 5May 5 The changes are minute really, but still there. Pretty much what DD_Arthur mentioned. My though is that future updates will be more geared towards the 2024 version and the price to upgrade was good. Worth the upgrade in my opinion If you love this plane as much as I do. May 5May 5 The native 2024 version comes with an avionics upgrade in the form of a STEC GNSS Converter. It means that the Comanche can follow a full flight plan (with curves and turns) in the GNSs/GTNs. The 2020 variant can't - it can only track straight GPS courses, with the HSI. For navigation capability, the upgrade free was worth it for this alone IMHO. May 5May 5 I used the 2020 version in 2024 for quite awhile. IIRC, it was even a copy/paste from 20 to 24 😁 Never had any issues with it that I can recall, and as others have said, I didn’t notice any changes from flying in 20 to 24. That said, I did purchase the 24 upgrade once it became available. It, too, was practically a non-event experientially. However, the new 2024 features do add a further increase to immersion, so entirely worthwhile if this is your primary light GA. Also as others, I just don’t bother flying anything else in this class 😁🤙

Very safe, very steady, but not lively in the least. I feel like they’re probably great for flying in CA where there are so many lovely low wind days, but I’m used to flying bugsmashers in gusty bumpy weather, so I want to really feel all that. To greatly over simplify it, you buy A2A when physics are your priority, and Black Square when systems are. So, since A2A only makes pistons, that’s kinda where I split my spend with those two devs: I buy A2A pistons and BS turbines. Very happy with both 🙂🤙
