Anyone here know of any news regarding the above which has been under reconstruction for quite a while now. Whilst not the premier flightsim site, it did have its uses?

Just wondering if anyone on here works with them or has contacts who could give us a bit of an update, expected timeline, etc.

Just my personal read, but I think the powers that be don't have the $$ on hand to rejuvenate the Site.

I would agree 100% with you, Alan! I don't think it's coming back anytime soon!

Always sad when a sim site 'stops', especially as they were amongst the oldest forums/libraries, along with SOH, Simviation & Avsim.

Lets hope that they return, or even hope that those that used their library as a repository for their add-ons, still have their add-ons & possibly repost them on other libraries, so that their add-ons are still being able to be shared.

To be fair before they took it down they did post a notice that it would be down for quite a number of months until they were ready to bring it back.

Now the outhouse is down for maintenance trying to fix the library downloads problem! 🙁

SOH is not down. SOH decided to shut down the library download center for few hours to introduce new stricter rules regarding downloading because some newbies abuses library center downloading too many downloads at once especially one new person was downloading 3,000 files AT SAME TIME!!!

SOH suspects somebody is trying to steal download files to create his or her library center for public use so SOH decides to protect copyrights of repainters and developers of sceneries and planes by introducing much stricter download rules.

It is not malfunction. It is caused by abuse of newbies who have no respect for generosity of repainters and developers offering freeware addons and liveries.

Now SOH library is re-opened and available for dowmloading with new rules

I said this over there - they don't have the skill. A site migration may take weeks or months in the background, but if the actual downtime takes more than a long weekend, you're doing it wrong.

Maybe they'll get some money back when they resell the domain.

That site has always felt like stepping back 10 years from any given point! Not really a criticism. Some people like a vintage feel. I never found the discussions went into the same depth as we see on AVSIM and always got the feeling the viewership had a very high average age 😄

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Their Hangar Talk was where I cut my teeth on no holds barred conversations. I posted some old building block scenery of the time years ago. I remember it with fondness.

It was the no holds barred conversations I was used to in Hangar Talk that got me in trouble here.
