Yesterday at 02:13 AM1 day If not familiar, there's quite a long and interesting geopolitical history around this airport since it was opened in 1923, thru WW2, the Berlin Airlift, the Cold War, etc. Sadly, it was closed in 2008...Looks like they put quite a bit of work into this to make it period correct: custom static aircraft, airport layout from back then, and have even included the complete Berlin Wall with its own fine details like Checkpoint Charlie(!), and other prominent local area assetsOf interest, it also includes a 3-mission campaign for the BO-105 (if you own the Mission Hub and 105). I don't own the 105, but I don't remember the aircraft type being locked...?Ive always found the circular airfield layout quite interesting. IIRC, that was a holdover from the days of grass strips and such.Another example of how MSFS can help keep history alive. 🤙more pics & details on MilTech's site Edited yesterday at 02:15 AM1 day by UrgentSiesta

Yesterday at 06:52 AM1 day Sure lets virtually rebuild the wall because it was such a cool and fun time in history for Berlin. I'm sure no one was harmed by its existant and no one got shot trying to get out of East-Berlin.Who comes up with ideas like that?! 🤦

I'm sure no one was harmed by its existant and no one got shot trying to get out of East-Berlin.No one is claiming that.Nothing I'm seeing about this addon would indicate to me that it glorifies the existence of the wall. If anything, it celebrates the resistance against it. Tempelhof was an airfield in the western part of Berlin, one of the two airfields (the other being Gatow) that served as the destinations for the Berlin air bridge, which was crucial in keeping West Berlin viable. Today, it is the site of a monument to the Berlin air bridge.Dotted all around Berlin are museums and monuments to its divided past. None of them are trying to pretend it was a "cool and fun time" in the city's history. They are ways of remembering the past and learning from it. I see this addon very much in the same vein.
Yesterday at 08:26 AM1 day My cousin visited Berlin recently, and he visited the old Tempelhof airport. He walked one of the runways. As a scenery developer, I was curious.Sorry for intruding on your thread. 🙈

Highly recommended.Me too, saw it in the early 2000s, a few years before closure. Very memorable place, a veritable living museum. There is a great book about the heyday of Pan Am, 'Skygods' by Robert Gandt, and there is a whole chapter devoted to the West German PAA operation and all the hijinks crews got up to at their Tempelhof hub.

Most of the reason I did is that I can’t remember an airport scenery for any sim where scenery assets outside the airport were removed - only added. And that it’d be a tremendous amount of work to remove a noticeable amount of modern structures, etc. I mistakenly believed you were being snarky. My bad. 🤙

My bad. 🤙Not sure if you remember FS9/FSX days but the CalClassic website is still there. The creator and scenery team created an entire world that was backdated to the propliner and early jet era. All 1960s scenery with major modern landmarks removed. Even landclasses were changed to make cities smaller than today. There's also this studio doing retro stuff now but they can't really work around the TIN.GERMANY 1935 · Unofficial MSFS Marketplace Browser Edited 10 hours ago10 hr by Nandengo12
10 hours ago10 hr Nice tempting carrot! Viewed all the promo photos and it does look good in many respects. Some retro texturing can certainly be more immersive in a very good way in comparison to present day. Always good to learn from past history!
