  1. EDIT-Thanks for the reply Art! :-) I'll purchase. Thanks, I'll think about it before purchasing, dont want the 800/900 to end up costing me $22.95 plus the purchase of windows xp on the other hand I suppose XP would be a good upgrade from windows 2000 anyway lol.
  2. hi,has anyone tried it on windows 2000 yet? Does it work? I would like to buy it but don't want to buy and find out it doesent work. The 600/700 work fine on windows 2000 but what about the 800/900?Andrew
  3. 757 all the way!! My favorite aircraft. :-)Andrew
  4. I guess it is going to be windows XP only? Sorry to kick this thread back onto page 1 but an answer from pmdg or a beta tester would be nice.Andrew
  5. :-( :-( This is really dissapointing, not everyone has windows xp. Since when is Windows 2000 a bad operating system? (It isint!) I guess I'll need to remove my signature banner since I wont be flying the 800 or 900, windows 2000 is all I have.Andrewps. Its not like Upgrading Operating systems is cheap, Windows 2000 cost me hundreds of dollars when I bought it. I would understand if It were not supporting windows 98 or something but not supporting windows 2000 either? really bad:-mad.
  6. I hope it works on Windows 2000 its all I have.Andrew
  7. Hey,Chris how is Fsskyworld 2004 (the clouds) coming along? Havent heard anything about it lately. Has the project been scrapped? Or have you just been busy with real world stuff not related to Fs? Just curious.Andrew
  8. hi,I recently downloaded openoffice from www.openoffice.org and it is just like Microsoft office except free. It includes programs similar (very very similar) to Word, powerpoint, excel and more. It also lets you save in different formats as well as the .doc format that MS word uses so you can open an openoffice file in microsoft word or open an ms word file in openoffice. I have MS office XP but I really like open office and wish I had found open office before I forked down lots of $$$ for MS office xp. In fact I like openoffice so much that I am probably gonna continue using openoffice instead of Office xp. If you know how to use MS office's programs you'll certainly know how to use Openoffice.Andrew
  9. PMDG Shows Off Upcoming 737-800/900Posted: Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 12:58In a series of messages on the Avsim PMDG support forum PMDG head honcho Bob Randazzo and the beta team have posted some screenshots of their upcoming B737-800/900 series for FS2004. You can see beta shots of the panel here and read Bob Randazzo's description of the aircraft features hereBob Randazzo? Last time I checked it was Robert Randazzo ;-)AndrewEDIT *sorry didin't know Bob was often used in place of Robert*
  10. hi,wow sounds great Robert I hope you guys can get the IRS in. :-)Andrew
  11. Hey Fred what about the IRS?Andrew
  12. I doubt there isint any protection in the from of unique Ids on installers or something that will help them catch people who distribute and download illegal copies. I beleive they have mentioned in an old thread a long time ago something about lawsuits already filled or in progress against individuals who used or distributed the pmdg 737 illegallyAndrew
  13. Well I woulden't buy an aircraft without an external model. I do most of my flying in the cockpit but when the autopilot is flying, I enjoy going into the tower view (with active camera) and seeing a flyby view of my 737 as it passes the camera. Or going into spot view and admiring the external model and the weather. I guess I like the realism of a good panel and the eye candy of the model. Andrew.

    IRS

yea, the original panels for the 600/700 will get the updates that come in the 800/900 panel but you have to buy the 800/900 to receive the updates to the 600/700 panels. (thats what Ive read). I think its like an expansion pack, people who own the 600/700 won't have to pay 40 bucks again to get the 800/900 it will be a reduced price although Im not with pmdg and have no idea what the pricing will be.Andrew

    IRS

I think its been said by pmdg before I think It will have one.Andrew
  16. You can try Sattelite it is a bit expensive but its broadband, 500KBPS download speeds for $49.99-59.00. Ive never tried it though (I have Cable) http://www.direcway.com/Andrew
  17. $139 Maybe if its the whole southwestern US.Andrew
  18. I agree, I'm also not too impressed with it after reading Tomshardware review and seeing the TechTV review on TV. Kind of looked like the reviewer on TV wasen't too impressed with it either. Andrew
  19. Um arent you only allowed to have one banner image? A bunch of pmdgs banners in some of your signatures seems like a bit much :-) Avsim only allows 1 image 400 x 60 pixels in size. I mean I really don't care wheather or not you have 3 banners in your signature but abusing avsim's "banner" rule may lead them to just not allow banners at all which would be bad. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=5957&page=Andrew
  20. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but are you on a network behind a router? Ive had that same gauge try to "connect to the internet" but when I look at my firewall (Sygate personal firewall pro) to see where its trying to connect I see that its 192.168.1.1 which is my routers Ip on the network, an internal one not visible to people outside the network. I have all my pcs networked so they might be comunicating to each other don't know for what though, I usually just block anything that tries to connect to the internet from connecting to the internet unless Ive told it too or if I know why its trying to connect.Andrew

    Bouncy

I usually use Vref +5 and 30 flaps and get no bounce. (unless I really screw up lol). Also you might have better luck not bouncing it if you land manually. What speeds are you using when you land? What are the winds?AndrewPS. Retard the throttles and flare when you hear the GPWS call 50 feet. If you do it right it won't bounce. I'm sure you already know this but make sure the spoilers are armed prior to touchdown, it might help with the bouncy landings.
