Im on a 6000+ dual core, fs grinds to a halt at lax with 100 percent ai and the pmdg 747. I have it set at 10 percent and its flyable.. pmdg 747 in itself is an fps killer though (the vc anyway). 50 percent ai is also flyable if you stay away from big detailed airports like lax. AndrewI forgot to mention this is with ultimate traffic.

I was finally able to eliminate the problem by reinstalling directx 9, something must have been corrupt somewhere.Andrew

just to follow up on my last reply, I have now uninstalled fs2crew and the pmdg 747 and installed them again and I am still having the same problem. Andrew

hi, I just gave that a try and no go, I tried starting fs2crew then changing the time till chocks off to +0, I waited for all the sounds to stop and then pressed the PF button and the numeric key pad subtract button and it still did not work. Nothing happens and the PF yellow light never extinguishes unless I click on it again. It just seems like its not detecting the key presses.Does the Pre flight checklist only work at a certain time? I've tried starting the checklist and different times and followed the tutorial in the manual as well as the flowchart available here at avsim and no go. I fly from the vc would that have anything to do with it?AndrewEDIT: the manual mentions I can change the assignments manually.. what lines do I need to look at and change in the panel.cfg to do that?

hi, I am new to fs2crew and just purchased it tonight and tried to go through the tutorial. I can't seem to get fs2crew to detect any main or secondary button presses no matter what key I assign them too. I click the PF button and then hit the main button and it does nothing. Is there something I have missed? I've tried the tutorial 3 times and I can't seem to get the buttons to work. I hear all the communications between ground and the cockpit and the F/o does his walkaround but clicking the PF button and then the main button to start the checklist is not working. I've made sure fs does not have the same keys assigned to an fs function as well. Andrew

Thank you guys! I just tried a long haul from lax-rjaa in the pmdg 747 and the thing is just so realistic it cant handle the abrupt wind shifts, I stalled and lost thousands of feet of altitude before i could regain control only to have the winds shift again and send me overspeeding, Looking forward to sp2! I am on a 6000+ x2 and get 12-15 on the ground at a detailed airports, (klas klax) with all settings "high" and 100 percent AI (Numbers do come up to 20-25 with no ai). At cruise I typically see 20-30fps. Just needs a little processing power... okay alot. Sure is a nice vc.AndrewEdit: All numbers from the VC of course. Spot view and tower view run at 30-40 fps pretty much everywhere. I suspect they would be higher if i were running something better than an 8600gt

good to see the issue got resolved. I just ordered a 6000+ to replace my 3600+ dual core. It did good for a while in fsx and then I got pmdg and activesky and they just suck the life out of the processor along with fsx.Andrew

edit: I forgot to mention this is in FSX.I just got Radar contact and flew my first flight with it yesterday, sort of. Everything went well up until the final approach. I saw an AI taxing up to the runway and assumed rc would freeze it and let me land. Low and behold the AI taxied onto the runway shortly before i was cleared to land or shortly after I am not sure. Sure enough I got told to go around. When does RC freeze ground traffic on the approach? Also what could cause RC not to detect all AI traffic? Throughout the whole flight I did not hear any AI chatter until I was on the approach and then I only heard some of the traffic. (I had fs atc tuned as well just to check). Is there some setting I must have set in order for rc to detect ai traffic properly? Before departing I also did not hear rc talk to the departing or arriving AI either and the AI that taxied onto the runway causing the go around was not spoken to by RC leading me to think it did not see the AI.thanks,Andrew

I once spoke to an elderly man, a quiet guy who claimed to once work in reverse engineering at groom lake, the only thing he told me about his job was "You think the technology we have now is amazing? I found .19 to be a good compromise between how fast textures load and fps.Andrew
