  1. Maybe the landing light beams are now visible when flying through clouds or fog?
  2. You may want to sign your full name. First name and last initial is probably not considered your full name.
  3. Planning, take off, and landing are the best part for some. (Me)
  4. The only option I have seen is for "max" payload, or you can input in your own custom payload. It's up to you to vary the payload based on the amount of fuel you need to take for the flight to ensure your not over your max take off weight. Edit: I Stand corrected there are additional modes for payload.
  5. I have messed around a bit with orbiter and space shuttle sim 2007 but the learning curve seems so dang high! Some of the missions on space shuttle sim are extremely tedious and difficult on the easiest setting that tells you which switches and procedures to perform. It is still fun though.
  6. My favorites are KLAS- Mccaran intl. in Las Vegas, NV , KSNA - John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA, and KSAN in San Diego, CA. I love flying nto Las Vegas with the brightly lit Las Vegas hotels just off of the airport and all of it in the middle of a desert. John Wayne airport is just fun to fly out of. It has a short runway and somewhat unique noise abatement procedures due to the homes belonging to the wealthy on the coast. San Diego is a beautiful city in real life and the approach to the airport is fun in the sim and fun to watch in real life. The parking garage located underneath the runway 27 approach had to be shortened after it was already built because it was too tall. There is of course KLAX but to me it's just a typical large busy airport nothing too special. The lack of rail connection to the airport is ridiculous but that's a whole other discussion. Edit: I forgot to mention they all have great scenery available for FSX.
  7. Well it seems people have got the wrong idea about this topic closing. It has got nothing to do with the 777 but more with the content of the posts in the thread. It is being monitored by administrators and if it goes south it will be locked. Lets keep it friendly!
  8. You make them match. Since you know what your pmdgs ZFW is because youve looked at the fmc you can manually change the zero fuel weight in pfpx before you generate the flight plan. You can also change the cargo and passengers in PFPX if you would like. I just do it the easy way and just adjust the ZFW which in turn causes PFPX to adjust the payload to match the ZFW you want. If you have trouble finding it I'll see if I can post a screenshot. In PFPX the aircraft empty weights already match the pmdg. The empty weight is the weight of the aircraft with no payload and no fuel, this does not change. What does change is the Zero fuel weight. This is the weight of the airplane and payload with no fuel.
  9. I purchased it this morning and did two flights in the pmdg ngx. One in the -700 and one in the -800 both were spot on. The flight plan called for 4400 pounds left at my destination. By the time I shut down at the gate I had 4500 pounds left. I enjoyed comparing my actual fuel on board to the flight plan at each way point. Spot on the entire way!
  10. Relax you haven't been ripped off this happens a lot with high profile big releases. It just takes a little time to get it sorted out.
  11. I agree. I have been flight simming since fs2000. There have been periods of time where I have lost the bug due to work, school, friends, dating, marriage. Every single time it comes back again full force. There is just something about flight simulator I cannot give up.
  12. http://www.turbinesoundstudios.com/product.php?ref=boeing-737-fsx I have heard good things about TSS but PMDGs sounds are engineered and recorded by PMDGs own sound engineer and they are very realistic. As such I have not actually heard the TSS 737ng sounds but they are an option for you if you want them.
  13. thanks for posting, that looks fun. I think I will try that trip in the ngx off of vatsim as well. I usually run errands or clean the house at cruise.
  14. To the people that want PFPX in order to speed up flight planning what's wrong with going on flightaware and finding the flight you want to simulate. I'll find the flight, use that route and planned altitude, and then use top cat to do my calculations. It takes me less than 10 minutes and I can't say it's ever left me without enough fuel to land with a few go arounds or more worth of fuel left over. Sure it's not realistic but it gets the job done fast while we wait for PFPX.
  15. Interesting read! I have been wanting a more complex cockpit but have been keeping it simple to please the wife. I keep a simple joystick that I can hide underneath the desk when not in use. I guess more is not always necessary.... But it sure looks cool!
  16. I am looking forward to this release. I still remember flying the PSS A320 years ago and it was just awesome for its time . I've been wanting a properly done A320 for FSX for a long time and this looks like it will be it.
  17. I have excellent credit but based on my income I dont quite meet the requirements for a 165 million dollar loan...
  18. On the take off page of the fmc if you left click on the trim/cg it will automatically fill it in for you with the correct data.
  19. MS has been on a failure streak since BIll Gates handed over the reigns to Ballmer. I guess their console division has been doing alright but everything else has been going down hill.
  20. Well it looks like it's time for me to dust off the pmdg md-11! Thanks for sharing it was quite enjoyable to watch.
  21. Great video. It contained pretty much everything I was interested in taking a look at. I especially enjoyed the boot up from cold and dark.
