  1. This is exactly the problem I just had 2 times in a row at different airports and different routes. I gave up for now.Andrew
  2. I just had this issue yesterday. I have never seen it before and I have been using the md-11 since it was released. It is very strange and does not appear to be a joystick issue but a software glitch somewhere.Andrew Zapata
  3. I had this same problem for the first time lastnight on a long haul flight. As soon as ATC cleared me for the visual and I disconnected the autopilot I realized I had no pitch control. As I had read about this problem I quickly changed my lsas settings and it did not fix the problem. I had no choice but to disconnect from vatsim and attempt to crash land the plane as nicely as I could. Problems like this after a long flight are heartbreaking. Andrew Zapata
  4. It appears the puppies were either to young to travel alone or perhaps someone did not tell the pilots there were animals in the cargo hold and cargo heat was not turned on. Andrew
  5. Well I also started off just buying and flying airliners because I like knowing how things work. Unfortunately or fortunately the fun never stopped for me :)Andrew
  6. I had this problem, when resetting the altimeter back to standard above 18000 do not use the "B" shortcut key, on the panel right click the altimeter knob on the fcp to pull it (it should have the letters "STD" on it). That will set it to standard and the airplane should climb to the exact cruising altitude.Andrew Zapata
  7. I recently purchased TOPCAT and now wonder how I flew without it! For me part of the reason I enjoy flying using FMCs is that the amount of time I have to use FSX is limited. Flying long hauls using the FMC lets me fly and also take care of things in real life. Just yesterday I took off from LAX to PHNL and left the house to go run some errands. When I came back the sim was paused 20 miles before the descent ready for me to return.Andrew
  8. It is worth it! I personally enjoy programming it and then monitoring the systems as the plane flies itself. I usually engage the autopilot at about 1000 feet and disengage it at 2500 feet on final.Andrew
  9. It is a simulation of the real aircraft. I think many of PMDG's customers purchase their aircraft because they are so accurately modeled. Personally if almost all of the systems in an airplane aren't modeled I am not interested.Andres Zapata
  10. im more of a heavy flyer but i think ill pick up the kodiak and tailwind its hard to find a deal now a days everything tends to be 40 dollars and up especially the way the USD is doing.Andrew
  11. hello,I am thinking of uninstalling fsx acceleration so that my lds 767 will function properly. If I uninstall acceleration will it cause problems with my installed addons? If I end up having to reinstall everything then uninstalling acceleration may not be worth the trouble. thanksAndres
  12. hello,I was wondering if any of you guys are flying the md-11 using ASA in non dwc mode and using a registered fsuipc for the wind smoothing. activesky really does a nice job with wind smoothing but Id really like to have the weather run in station based mode and not global mode but i would lose the wind smoothing so I want to know if fsuipc does a good job with wind smoothing on it's own. That way I can have the best of both worlds.Andrew Zapata
  13. I think it is real why else would your topics get deleted without a response.... this is awesome! Seems like a good way of showing off something new without having to officially announce it.Andrew
  14. why did "######ing betty" call out "stabilizer motion" in the video? I have not heard that call out in flying the pmdg md-11 yet.Andrew
  15. Once you have set the zfw, to cg and zfw cg in the fms you can go to the to/appr page and once you set the take off flap setting, temperature, and the take off winds it will compute the v speeds and also show the stab trim setting on the same page. (if you right click the buttons next to the zfw, to cg, and zfw cg it will automatically fill those spaces in for you.) I believe flaps 25 is normally set for take off. As far as charts I have not found any either.Andrew
  16. I am still so upset over microsoft's terrible decision, I grew up with flight simulator and now they killed it and saved the zune??? I literally want to grab the next zune I see and destroy it.Andrew
  17. Love it! I think I could have gotten sick if I kept watching the videos. :( I will definitely buy it!Andrew
  18. as long as pmdg is still making airplanes in the future I'll still be using fsx
  19. very sad news.. the only reason I keep a high end windows pc in the house is for flight simulator... This was a very stupid move. Makes me glad I purchased that new macbook pro.Andrew
  20. I like this airplane, it definitely has a learning curve. I must be too used to Boeings.Andrew
  21. Bored? I never get bored of flying the autopilot in the pmdg 747. :-)Andrew
  22. Have you tried flying with the system not over clocked to see if it still crashes?Andrew
  23. I want to buy one of these business jets, which one has better systems modeling? Andrew
  24. Hi,Sometimes on takeoff using the autothrottles and toga an eicas message appears that reads "engine rpm limit" or something to that effect. It happens right before the autothrottle commands climb power. I have looked in the manual and I must have missed it. What does this message mean? Andrew
