  2. Is Windows 2000 really not going to be supported anymore? Its not that old of an OS and certainly not a bad one (like windows 98, ME).Andrew
  3. what is fs live traffic? AI traffic? If so free is better, www.projectai.comAndrewEDIT: Upon further investigation I find that it is a very interesting product, sounds good, they might be making it sound better than it really is.
  4. http://www.sg-flightware.de/download/AISmooth_V091.zipAnother seperation program which I tried for several hours yesterday at klax, not one go around occured. The authors of both programs did a fantastic job especially since fs doesent really give much to work with.Andrew
  5. I think fs10 can wait a while, only now have we gotten such things as "AI seperation", Im just now getting fs to run the way I want lol.Andrew
  6. Theres another one called AIsmooth.. It sends AI aircraft into holding patterns instead of slewing, Ive heard alot of good about it but the program does not work on my computer, he should be releasing a fixed version on Monday. http://www.sg-flightware.de/ he also has a support forum on flightsimmer.com.a post from the author in his forum ;-) sounds awesome to me.----------------------------------------------------... please.I think I have addressed most of the problems mentioned so far, but I need to do some more testing before releasing the next version.I dreamed up another goodie (I hope), though. It's a small step toward STAR's.AISmooth will note, if the first plane in a session lands on a runway, the location of the runway and then calculate the location of an initial approach fix, with a user-selectable distance from the runway (minimum 5 NM).As soon as this information is available, planes will leave their holding patterns not by performing a 180 as before, but by choosing a heading that will take them to this approach fix, and then continue on this heading until they are within a range of 3 NM of that point. This should reduce the number of kamikaze candidates among the AI pilots who shoot their approaches into short-short final from the sides.I'm aiming at a release on monday.Michael ------------------------------------------------Andrew
  7. this is a great utility, does a great job of sorting out the approach mess that occurs at the busy airports.Andrew
  8. how bout autoland at 16x? afterall having to slow down to 1x for an approach is a waste of time... only kidding but for those who want to fly an entire flight at 16x, just do this, world-go to airport, type in your destination, bam your there in the amount of time it takes to load plus your already stopped all you have to do is taxi to the gate and pretend you just landed.. :-rollAndrew
  9. Does it really matter what they add to fs2006? We will all probably end up buying the new version even if where not impressed with the new additions especially when developers start developing products exclusively for the new version.Andrew
  10. I must say I regret having purchased many of PSS's products after seeing the Unprofessional manner in which a certain PSS staff member(s) are behaving. It seems that if you so much as slightly disagree with what pss did you are all of a sudden supporting piracy and that is incorrect. "you don't like someone posting a "pirates" personal information on a forum? well then you must support piracy!" :-roll plain stupid if you ask me. Andrew
  11. Perhaps this is just the lens used on the camera but I think the livery makes that 747 look a bit smaller or err Sleeker. Those are nice new Boeing house colors.Andrew
  12. That bird looks awesome. The music was nice too.Andrew
  13. Flew at night the other day and when I landed at kont in good weather, my landing lights looked something like that except the only thing I could see were greenlights (probably not even that) which made it difficult to taxi off the runway ;) I think its about time I replace this Radeon 9000 proAndrew
  14. No. Its going to look like a 747-400 though so just go on airliners.net and look at 744 photos. ;-)Andrew
  15. I hope they do a BBJ/military expansion which would include the hud sometime after the 744 or md-11.Andrew
  16. Great addon, well worth the money asked for which at the time of purchase I thought was pretty expensive for a weather addon (euro to Usd). It was great before the update and 2004.5 only made it better.Andrew
  17. Thats cool, I think I'm going to try that myself ;-)Andrew
  18. whoa if thats really the panel art in Alex's (sidewinder) attachment, it looks great. :DAndrew
  19. The sound dissappears when you change views because of an Fs limitation I think. Theres an option in the menu to enable the sound in all views which I use even though it is unrealistic to hear the avionics sounds in spot view. Personally I think all the avionics/fans sounds Pmdg added really add to the atmosphere. Ex: Turning on the recirc fans. Even though it doesent do anything in the sim, atleast its a sound and I can pretend the fans are actually on and doing something. Id love an apu sound even though you can't hear that from the cockpit in real life.Andrew
  20. I must say it does look very impressive, props arent my thing but this may be the first turboprop I purchase.Andrew
  21. why is there a need for ultra realistic crash visuals in fs2004? I dont see it. Seeing an airliner rip apart in fs2004 isint particularly exciting if anything it makes me angry when I have an accident. Especially when I think of all the time I wasted preparing for the flight or inflight. Crashing after a 4 hour flight is no fun. Having a great landing after a 4 hour flight is fun ;-)Andrew
  22. I would not worry about it, Chances are if you get reported nothing is going to be done about it anyway. And if you ever get an email from a developer just explain it to them. Most should be understanding and if they arent too bad for them I suppose. It should be alright, you're not doing anything illegal and I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to report you without knowing the full story ;-).Andrew

    Piracy Reports

I agree with what some of you have said, theres nothing quite like purchasing something and not having to enter a bunch of activation codes or even a serial number. (pmdg, pss, Activesky and some others). Its not really good when a developer goes out of their way to try to make it as inconvenient for the paying customer as possible in order to try to make it impossible to pirate or crack their add-on. If all the piracy protection can be done behind the scenes unnoticeably then I'm all for it but if it involves activation codes, emails, etc. then no. You also have to realize, people who download an addon without paying for it probably would not have purchased it to begin with so it's not really lost revenue as much as it is unfair to the people who actually purchased it.
