  1. hi,You can just leave Outlook express running in the background (if you use outlook) and set it to check for mail every 2 mins. I set mine to 10 minutes but you can set it to check your mail every minute if you want :-PAndrewPS. If when it checks for mail it finds new mail and the program is minimized it will show a little pop up that lasts for like 5 seconds next to the clock saying how many new messeges you have, I think it will play a sound also.
  2. hi,Great news although I am really worried as too how or when I'm gonna be able to get the patch once it's released as I recently (about a month ago) had to change isps and emails when I upgraded to Broadband internet. Hopefully correcting my email on the account wont be too problematic when the patch is released.Andrew
  3. hi,I don't remember where I placed the GDIplus.dll, just place a copy of the file in all 3 of those folders. I't won't hurt anything if you place it in the wrong folder.Andrew
  4. hi,Where does it say XP is required? I have it running just fine on Windows 2000 SP4. Back in July when I used Windows ME it ran fine on there also. I dont know about Windows 98 but I would assume some people have the 737 running on it.Andrew
  5. hi,Yeah, I hope this patch takes care of all the little bugs and they don't have to start work on a patch for the patch lol. Hopefully this will be the last patch needed and they can divert full power to the 800/900. :-)AndrewPS. I also hope it will be ready by christmas :-)
  6. hi,I reckon those effects would look quite nice on the 737.Andrew
  7. Oh the thought of having to fly with old nav data :-( (the little yellow face says it all) I wish I had the skills to continue the Wonderful service Richard provided :-( Anyway now you have more time to spend with your family. Good luck Richard. :-)Andrew
  8. hi,Today I was doing some moving and deleting between my two harddrives and I got this error "Cannot copy PAI_install_air_maroc: Data error (cyclic reduduncy check). Am I loosing a harddrive here or what? I would be devastated if I lost my main FS harddrive :-( A couple weeks ago I got an error while downloading a file that said something about a "write error" and then the download failed I didin't pay much attention to it. What does this error mean? "Data error: (cyclic reduduncy check)" sounds a little serious too me heh.Andrew
  9. hi,I have the same exact problem, its so annoying, I cant even fly on vatsim anymore :-( rarely will SB not crash with that error. what operating system are you using?Andrew
  10. hi,When they released SU1 they just had everyone download it off their website and there were no problems, I don't see a problem with doing the same with SU2.Andrew
  11. hi,I'll get off this computer when thanksgiving dinner is on the table and not a moment sooner hehehe. :-)Andrew
  12. LOL its killing me too! Everyday since they posted the update/fix list I check at most every 30 mins if not less lol. Andrew
  13. No not on thanksgiving, thats too long to wait hehe :-) j/k
  14. Well I hope it will be soon too. Can't wait :-) Andrew
  15. hi,When ever I take off and engage the autopilot on climb out in the 737 the nose always pitches up to like 20-30 degrees and then slowly lowers back to normal. Has this been fixed in one of the earlier SUs or is it going to be fixed in SU2? It's been happening even after installing SU1-1Andrew
  16. WOW that bird looks great :-)Andrew
  17. hi,I recently had (2mb downstream/256k upload) cable installed and I think it's great, I installed a router in between the modem and the computers so I could "split" the connection and would like to know which ports fs2004 uses for multiplayer so I can tell the router to let traffic coming in and out of those ports through?Andrew
  18. hi,I have a Likom Viewmate LP995 19 inch CRT monitor which is like 4-5 years old, a couple weeks ago a small dot maybe the size of 1 or 2 pixels (yes it's a tiny black dot) appeared. The dot is barely noticiable in fs2004 thankfully. What is this dot and why does this happen? Is it a sign of my monitor going south?Andrew
  19. hi,Yea atleast they didint try to steal the rims lol.Andrew
  20. hi,I dont know the answer to your question but I would think that if their going to release a boxed version, their gonna wait until the 737-800/900 are also done so they could stick them all in one box.Andrew

  24. hi,Actually I turned off the cabin since I dont use it at all and left the 2d panel and vc and the load times are much improved.. also put my aperture up to 128 since my video card is pretty old and only has 64mb of ram and it seemed to have helped a lot. Thanks :-)Andrew
  25. hi, Ive been having trouble with aircraft textures that take forever to load... like when I switch to the Vc in the 737 it takes like 2-5 seconds to load the textures, if I switch to the external view it sometimes takes upward of 5 seconds, while the other fs2004 textures (ground textures, sky, clouds, buildings, are always loaded). What I mean by the aircraft and vc txtures taking forever to load is all the textures look grey for a while then finally load up one by one. I dont know what the problem is I have plenty of memory as you can see from my specs below. My system is deffinetly not a monster by any means but upwards of 5 seconds to load the aircraft tectures and such seems like a bit much. I look at the task manager while fs is running and fs2004 is taking up 400-450mb at most with the pmdg 737 loaded up with usually about 100-110 memory left and Windows using 616mb of pagefile. Shouldent it be using all my fast memory before resorting to the page file? Seems like Windows is more than happy to use the pagefile before the memory is out. I think Windows is using the page file and making my textures load slowly since its using the harddrive as memory... maybe windows is taking up too much memory for itself or my Windows 2000 install is not tweaked for gaming. AndrewPS. Actually Im having conflicting reports... cacheman shows 100mb free right now with 27mb in the page file... but dxdiag shows 616mb of page file used... hmmmm
