  1. After reading several replies to this thread, I'm amazed by the idiocy and rudeness of some people in this community. Andrew
  2. I recall there being a bushflying server for fs2004 but I don't remember what it was called. Is there something similar for fsx? Multiplayer in fsx is good, but it has several things I do not like about it, No one is ever on the same page because no one ever has the chat box open. When a session is created people just seem to do whatever they want on their own.. if your gonna do that then you might as well play offline imo. Andrew
  3. Overclocking your processor is unlikely to fry it even if you do push it to far. It will become very unstable way before it gets to the point where it is damaged. Uncareful use of voltage will fry anything on a computer imho.Andrew
  4. On my setup fsx has not used more than 1.1 gigs ever, But I use resized textures for almost everything. It uses 1 gig at klas with lots of scenery going.. It usually hovers around 700-900mb elsewhere.Andrew
  5. Nevermind I kind of cheated and looked in the xml file for the mission to find its hopefully final Latitude and longitude. hehAndrew
  6. ah where did it go?!! I set up the autopilot looked away at my laptop and then looked back about 2 minutes later and the compass is saying the challenger is 6 miles away to my southeast at 1500 feet I bust a diving 180 (unrealistic I know but I did not save the mission before). Then my secret agent says we lost him but that I can keep looking. Right now I'm still looking, where the heck did it go??Andrew
  7. "5) Get a nice tranparent case for your PC - the sparks flying around inside can look great."I got that covered I'm sure they do haha. I'm not too worried about the reduction in cpu life. It will be retired as soon as vista and dx10 come out.Andrew
  8. I've been like everyone else looking for ways to improve my performance in fsx ever since I purchased it and today I decided I would overclock my now low end athlon 64 3000+. Turns out I was able to get it up to 2.4 Ghz from the stock 1.8ghz, 2.4ghz is 3800+ and 4000+ territory. Wow let me tell you this was the "magic bullet" for me, I got a tremendous boost in performance in almost all situations. I was able to bring up my sliders and enable my pixel and vertex shaders again and remain in the 17-25 fps range almost everywhere.Andrew
  9. The only information I can come up with on the memory.dll is that it appears to be for another game by Relic. Battlefield I think..Andrew
  10. Took the words right out of my mouth dutton. Good find would it work if I added those entries to the fsx.cfg itself under my videocard? I can't find it in the display.cfgAndrew
  11. hello,Since most of the slowdowns occur at airports, I was wondering if resizing the airport building textures would help with framerates at all? Just throwing an idea out there.Andrew
  12. I agree, I'm currently in the FAA CTI program, and in my classes there are a few guys who just got into flightsim with fsx.. These are the words of one of them "It's cool, I like it, but it runs slow on my computer"
  13. So we dont end up with a sim that runs at 300 fps in about 3 months, and then have wasted horsepower that could have gone to improving graphics. The sim might not run as well as fs9 for a while, but hey thats the way it is and it is certainly too late for it to change now.
  14. Did you try shutting the engines down inflight for them? ;-) ha.Andrew
  15. I agree. There also seem to be a lot of new ruder people that were not around these forums for the fs9 release. Andrew
  16. I just thought I'd contribute, odd as it seems fsx on my machine seems to run better than some with much higher end systems than mine. I get 15-20fps in most situations with medium high settings (edit: autogen set to sparse) on a 3000+ athlon 64, 768mb ram, radeon 9550 pro (overclocked videocard but thats it and even that woulden't make much of a difference on such a crappy card)Andrew
  17. I'd have to agree with payware being a waste of money with fsx, atleast until the hardware is available and somewhat affordable to run fsx well at default.Andrew
  18. Azapata87

    amazing.

I was recently able to purchase a 2006 bmw 328i and wow let me tell you what a great car. If you ever have a chance to get your hands on one go for it! Even the base model I got (cheapest one) is absolutely outstanding and full of features. The car did come with its price though, now I can't exactly afford to upgrade my pc for fsx for a while haha.Andrew
  19. I think some of the time employees are just to lazy to look, or dont know so they just say they dont have something.Andrew
  20. There was an FSX commercial on the discovery channel, I thought it was pretty neat, performance in the commercial did not seem very smooth but I liked the commercial.Andrew
  21. sounds good except for when you try installing addons and max out the performance on the xbox 360 and start to get slower performance with no room to upgrade the hardware...
  22. Will FSX only work with xp and vista? Or will it work with windows 2000 pro as well? Andrew
