  1. Id start with the 777. It has more automation and is easier to learn. It is also easier to land smoothly as well compared to the 737. On the other hand the 737 does come equipped with a HUD. Once you learn how to use that it is a great aid. The landing gear configuration on the 737 makes smooth touchdowns a tad more difficult than in the 777.
  2. CFIT on approach to PHNL. It was my first flight in many months. I cited lack of situational awareness, lack of currency in the aircraft, plain negligence, bad piloting, and anything else I could think of as the cause of the accident.
  3. If you own a tablet 3rd party pdf apps should allow you to create your own bookmarks. These bookmarks are stored locally and do not modify the actual pdf file. The iPad iBooks app allows this and another app called pdf expert allows this as well. I do not own an android tablet but there should be something similar available there as well.
  4. Guys in one of the pre release videos it was mentioned that Robert was still working on the timing of the cabin ready message. I think It is based on a timer. What triggers the timer I do not know.
  5. Yep. I believe the time it happened to me I had already returned from a flight and was departing on another without restarting fsx.
  6. I also experienced this error. I couldn't find anything wrong so I took off anyway and then it disappeared. I haven't seen it again but I will take a screenshot if it happens.
  7. I am having the same issue and I have the hardware throttle at idle on all landings. No reverse until nose wheel is on the ground. I thought it was a little odd. The same thing happens even if I disable the auto throttle on final approach. I do not use fsuipc for hardware controller calibration.
  8. Flew AAL from JFK to EGGL, then UAL from SFO-HNL-PGUM-RJAA. Full day of flying. Being somewhat of a stranger to long haul I have noticed that fsx ILS frequencies don't match the FMC at some airports. Is there a way change this ?
  9. Even more impressive is that these great graphics are running on hardware that is by todays standards rather old. The playstation 3 and xbox 360 came out years ago.
  10. Put a check mark next to suppress turbulence in fsuipc. If the problem persists check gusts and variance as well.
  11. Sounds like a good trip! I just flew my first flight a few days ago. I was surprised by how easy she is to fly because of all the automation. The NGX while still very automated requires more input from the pilots with system management.
  12. I am quite sure a 3rd party PDF application that is not adobe acrobat reader on your desktop will have the same functionality. I'll look into it.
  13. No problems here. I simply put them on dropbox then exported them to ibooks on my iPad and now they are accessible while I am flying. Bookmarks included.
  14. Awesome shots! Just flew aboard Southwest into Denver last night. They had the plane hold at about 32000 feet for about 15 minutes due to the thunder storms!
  15. Way to be knowledgeable... PMDG is not known for modeling stuff that does not exist on the real airplane. Further more diving into the documentation would yield that everything is modeled and simulated correctly and behaves as it does in the real aircraft.
  16. Really cool ! I've wanted to do something like this
  17. Amazing what you can find by just typing someone's user name into google or on social media sites. However, without IP addresses and such there is no way to prove that the same user name on different websites is the same person. For that reason it is better not to out someone publicly. Leave that to administrators and/or the proper authorities.
  18. If you use the FMC for fuel planning make sure you input as much wind information as you can for the route and it will be even more accurate. I used it all the time in the ngx before PFPX and it worked great. The longer the flight the more critical it is that you give it wind information especially it you have headwinds.
  19. I find the easiest way for me is to load them up on my phone and tablet that way I have them anywhere. When I get some spare time throughout the day I can just start reading.
  20. It seems as though there's a whole generation out there that just does not like to read at all. A younger family member of mine asked me for advice on buying a particular car. I asked him to research it and read as much information about the car as he could find so that he could make an informed decision.. Alas, I guess it was to much to ask for. I read the freakin manuals for a virtual airplane that I will never fly in real life.. for fun!

    Out Of Memory

Before you start uninstalling stuff try just reducing autogen to sparse and see if that's enough. It was for me when I was dealing with oom errors. These guys are right about the cause of oom errors.
  22. Yes, you paid a lot of money for this add on. It has not been stolen from you and you will get what you paid for. This was a highly anticipated release and unfortunately servers are not invincible and some orders fell through the cracks. They have stated that they are aware of this and will fix those orders. A little patience and understanding goes a long way.
  23. It will get sorted. The post said they will be working all day wed. Im not sure many of the support staff are based outside the U.S. So when you filled a support ticket it was likely the middle of the night in the U.S. the post did say they would catch up on a little sleep.
  24. These guys are right. You'll get used to it. It may take a little while but it will eventually click and you will quickly grow to like it. It happened to me when I first switched over from 2d panels.
