August 27th, 2020 - Development Update
Azapata87 replied to ChaoticBeauty's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Yeah you’re right.. I remember nearly stalling over the Atlantic in a PMDG bird because of wind shifts. I guess I’ll take calm winds over that for now. -

Real Weather .... Is that working for anyone?
Azapata87 replied to Spike1950's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It’s a good simulator for 60 bucks.. now if I had paid extra for premium aircraft that barely worked with no timeline on when they will work then I would be really upset. I don’t think this is on Asobo though, this reeks of bean counters at MS declaring it ready for release. -

I’ll admit I was also a bit disappointed to not see this one on the list. I can deal with the bad autopilots for a while. -

Wind check. -
Been enjoying the sim a lot in the jets but something just seems a little off to me at altitude.. maybe it’s just the missing contrails or the constant wiggling of the airplanes in calm air. To he honest it could just be all new and still not used to it. 🤷♂️

Updated CJ4 Performance - Updated engines.cfg
Azapata87 replied to cwburnett's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Did my first flight with the mod today... she’s so much more pleasant to fly with the more realistic power and fuel consumption.. this is the bird I’m choosing to start my world tour. Thanks again. Now if Asobo could fix the homicidal autopilots. Really have to watch your back right now. 😂 -
Everyone’s entitled to an opinion but even with those deficiencies. The scenery is still hundreds of miles better than the base P3D and FSX. I’d say it’s even still better than a beautified P3D with hundreds of dollars in addons. There are some annoying bugs with aircraft and flight dynamics that I do think need to for sure be addressed.

Awesome! Been waiting for this, thank you. -
I Can't Find The "Pause" key - NOT Active Pause
Azapata87 replied to Ricardo41's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
To my knowledge pause is now the escape key..with a giant UI menu in the way. Active pause replaced the P3D pause... However it is bugged and doesn't work because the simulation keeps running in the background causing over speeds and stalls when you unpause. -
Runway Holding Point Lighting
Azapata87 replied to Cyrex1984's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It sure is missing .. lighting is not the most realistic in this sim yet. Markings aren’t great either. Most movement area markings on light concrete on taxiways and runways require a black outlines around the yellow for increased visibility, not there in the sim. -
How do you display FPS in MFS ?
Azapata87 replied to MarkW's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I use EVGA Precision X1 it has an overlay that allows you to see GPU clock speeds, VRAM use, temp., and FPS. -
I feel the exact same way.. struggling with the A320 and to a lesser extent the 747.. unless it’s windy then I might just crash half the time..either other sims were just too easy or there’s something wrong with the airliners in this one. never had issues with landing in other sims.. if this is just more like the real deal then I suppose I’ll Re-learn.

I had to set my control sensitivities back -40 percent on my elevator and aileron axis to even approach the sense of stability while flying that I had in Prepar3d. It is a huge improvement after the adjustment but I believe most first time simmers and some experienced simmers won’t know to do this. A friend of mine is brand new and was having a heck of a time keeping control of his aircraft due to this issue.

Somewhat disappointed - Still a Beta game
Azapata87 replied to teenflon5's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
One of my biggest complaints of an otherwise awesome sim. The horrific load times. RIP anyone installing this on an HDD. It’s horrifically slow to load on an SSD. -
Low level flight is ... amazing.
Azapata87 replied to abrams_tank's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I agree, I had a blast flying around Southern California.. theme parks, ports beaches, mountains. Absolutely amazing. VFR flight in GA aircraft is finally fun and easy. I always stuck to airliners in past sims because I didn’t want to invest in high quality scenery required for VFR flight. Now we have it almost everywhere included in the base sim. -
Taxiway Names Do NOT Match Real Life
Azapata87 replied to FlyingInACessna's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Agreed, love the sim but this is not excusable IMO. Hopefully it is updated as this should not be a community fix. Default airports in old sims had accurate taxiways. -
In my case after activating the control to be assigned it still will not detect any key presses or axis movements even though the sim detects the joystick itself.
-
This is correct.

I’m having the issue where the sim recognizes my Saitek joystick but I cannot configure it at all. It does not detect any key presses or axis movements in order to assign them. it detected my Xbox one controller immediately so I had to fly around with that.

Nice profile picture, love that movie. The autobrakes don’t seem to engage at all on touch down until the nose gear is pushed onto the ground. There is practically no deceleration and so the nose gear just floats until it’s manually forced down. I can do a wheelie 3/4 of the way down a runway at the same speed I touched down at. I purposefully disarmed the auto throtttles and idled them manually on my last landing to see if reverse would engage sooner and got the same results. -Andres Zapata

I am having the same issue but only with the P3d version. Having flown the PMDG T7 for a long time on fsx with the exact same control setup I am at a loss for what is causing it in P3D. I have opened a support ticket. Andres Zapata

Hello, I recently purchased the 777 for P3D after having flown it on FSX since release. On the P3D version I am experiencing an issue where the reverse thrust and autobrakes do not seem to engage until I manually force the nose gear down onto the ground. This is happening on every landing at any airport. I do not use fsuipc and use a joystick for control inputs. This setup has not had any issues in the past. The PMDG 737 in P3D works just fine on landings. I’ve see this issue reported on a few other threads but see no solution. Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Andres Zapata

I agree. Id like to add that although an aviation degree may give you a leg up. Getting your foot in the door at an FBO or a smaller GA airport and gaining experience helps greatly. When I interviewed for my most recent position they were ess interested in my schooling and more interested in my aviation experience.

My degree is in aviation management. i currently work in airport operations ensuring my airport meets part 139 regulations and conducting other administrative duties for the airport.
