  1. NOTAM - An esteemed colleague (Thanks Mike) has just informed me that Tennessee has 2 time zones and we will cross them. Using high order calculus, trig and some algebra 😝 the suggested starting sim time has been moved back by 1 hour - 15:00 local The original post and any docs, if you have not downloaded them yet, reflect the time change. Another note, it has been known from the beginning that we may not make the full route in the alloted time, no worries. If we make it to Campbell (1A3) that would be nice.
  2. The Rolling Hills of Tennessee Documentation The flightplan can be found here. Note - the flight plan is in FSX. It may be (unkown) a good idea to run it through LittleNavMap and save as a P3D version for those who need it. No .gfp plan is supplied. Aircraft The route is 387nm. Any aircraft capable of about 160+kts cruise will do nicely. This leaves ~30 minutes throughout the flight for the normal "faffing about". There are 3 airstrips that require semi-STOL performance, the shortest runway is 1700 feet on grass, so choose wisely. As always, fly whatever you like. Scenery More than normal, you want to augment your default setup to make the trip worthwhile. Of course, you want the payware Orbx Global textures. If you have it, you want Orbx Global Vector to get the rivers and roads mostly right. For mesh you want FreeMeshX or a payware equivalent to enhance the rolling hills of this area. This time, in addition, you will want some airport sceneries . Required Scenery: The idea for this flight came up because of the recent releases from Ed Wells (falcon409) over at Sim Outhouse. He has done a wonderful job giving life to the area by updating the small airfields in rural Tennessee. ( 1 in North Carolina - our destination) All these airfields were tested in both FSX & P3Dv4 by Ed and other users. Hassell Field_M29.zip James Tucker/Perry Co. Airport.zip Meadowlark Airport.zip 100 Aker Wood Airport.zip & the update - TN41 Enhancements.zip Sky_Ranch_TN98.zip Monroe County Airport_KMNV.zip Martin Campbell Airport_1A3.zip Jackson County Airport_24A_with_ramp_lights.zip NOTE - 24A Jackson County is also provided by FTXG Free. You may use either or both (for ease). The elevations are the same. FTXG adds static aircraft & people flow. Believe it or not, it looks very good with both active. 2 automible accidents :) with people discussing insurance carriers, a shed attached to a mobile home - rather factual, dual windsocks & fuel tanks are the only drawbacks. Flight Plan & Notes: You may get a "folding paper" version of the flight plan from SkyVector. The following image shows my setup in FSX - FreeMesh On, FTX Global On, Vector On & AEC settings. Your needed setup may vary. Time and Weather We should fly real weather if possible. Time of departure, simulator time, should be at (?? P3D) 16:00 15:00 local. (At 24A, sunset and moonrise occurs at 19:00 local 12OCT19, suggested start at M29 is 16:00 15:00 local - FSX time) Particulars Date and time: Ocotber 19, 2019, 1800 UTC Where: AVSIM RTWR Teamspeak - Casual Flights Channel Teamspeak Server Address: ts.teamavsim.com Cross-Platform Multiplayer: JoinFS. Latest version is here. (FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D) If you want to help others enjoy the multiplayer experience, don't forget to enter your aircraft details on the multiplayer spreadsheet (linked here). Your courtesy will save others a lot of time and effort. Thanks!
  3. Ditto what Ron said.. "Very nice flight" ... Thanks Gunter! Not too many pics taken, perhaps still not awake ;)) My story & sticking with it. If wanted, you may view them here. Thanks again Gunter!
  4. mmm very strange.. malewarebytes caught it when the packages are zipped up, nothing to report unzipped & installed. (scanned the flight sim files) Dang bitminer is in the install executables.. More tech info may be provided in the upcoming email. In any case - later on today ( ~0000 UTC 09OCT19 ) an email will be sent out with options available for y'all.. Have an outstanding day!
  5. Have them all so if the download is the problem then..... 👽 (Gunter, email me if this is the problem) Also translating some of the install notes from spanish to swahili for easier understanding.
  6. Mike, Thank You for the flight! A great route through some beautiful scenery, easter eggs unseen before included! 🐰 Some photos from this excellent adventure can be found here..
  7. A symbol one doesn't see very often. Does this mean aliens will be here to greet us? 😝
  8. Thanks Ron for the flight! Mother Nature really put a cap on this one - wow! During the last 2 legs, I would hold down the shutter button for a while trying to capture some lightning shots. 450 images later, only 3 or 4 developed into workable shots with "wimpy" lightning. I swear I was hit once! Of course, the shutter button was not pressed. 😞 A few cool shots of those PC-12 guys. Someone needs to put a leash on those 2 - we will run out of airspaces to play in after all the sanctions.. LOL Available here.
  9. An umbrella and a couple (double barrel) of large diameter straws please.. 🍹 😉
  10. Henrik & team, Just echoing everyone else's comments. Thank-You so much for this "must have" addition for flight sim. Wonderful work!
  11. Mike, Oh nooooo - very nice. I really missed out on this one. 😭
  12. Bert, Great flight!! The theme really hit home on this one :)) The pictures just came back from Walgreens developing.. Can view here if wanted. Gunter, and the rest of Sunday's crew... Plans surprisingly changed last minute.. I wonder what? 😉 Hope it was a good one - was looking forward to it. Edit -- Couldn't find the article about the person building a kitplane in his 2nd floor apartment and then cutting out the wall to get it out.. (( I believe it was in Norway. Anyway, found this one instead - still a good story.
  13. Not a full float, rather an amphib and.. A selfless plug - freeware. Over at the other site, the LDR Grumman Mallard.
  14. Stumped too except.. In the Duke options program: [Options | GPS HSI Course], do you have it set to "Auto DTK"? With the GPS/Nav switch set to GPS this will freeze the OBS1 to DTK. This leaves the HDG bug.. Again in the Duke options program: [Panel Options | GPS], maybe try using the stock GPS 500. IIRC the RXP uses injected heading values to track the course, could be wrong on this. I do not use the RXP. Maybe try turning the GPS/Nav switch to nav if using the RXP. With the commands from your joystick working in stock (and other) aircraft and you are absolutely sure there is no FSUIPC profile setup for the Duke, this leaves the Duke configuration itself as the culprit. That is all I have.. Maybe someone else with more experience with the Duke & RXP (if you use it) can help. Wishing you good luck. Roman
  15. Ken, Just did some testing with both the V1 & V2 piston Dukes.. FSUIPC can do it for you, no need for linda - tested. The commands I used where: HEADING BUG DEC HEADING BUG INC VOR1 OBI DEC VOR1 OBI INC The commands above also have a "fast" option for each. Maybe you have FSUIPC setup for profiles with a profile for the Duke. Perhaps the profile .ini doesn't include the OBI commands? Very strange, the stock FS commands, if assigned, ( options | settings | controls ) for heading do not work at all in this aircraft. "Autopilot heading bug (decrement)" & "Autopilot heading bug (increment)" Nothing found for OBI1 increase/decrease.
  16. How about something like this? From over at FrenchVFR.. Nahhh.. Looking at something more traditional, thinking Lionheart Wittman W-10. Or perhaps this? Freeware & FSX native.. A little slow though.
  17. Jeff & Gunter.... Great flights this weekend - Thank you! Brilliant! 😉 👍 If wanted, you may view some screenies here. Thanks again.
  18. A lot of homebuilding companies / individuals in this neck of the woods, just off the top of my head, sure there is a lot more.. Lancair - Redmond, Oregon (original) now TX Glasair - Arlington, WA Vans - Aurora State Airport, Oregon Kitfox - Boise, ID (original) now Homedale, ID Burt Rutan - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho CubCrafters - Yakima, WA
  19. Roger, Spectacular flight - Thank you! All the hype about Bear Camp Research proved true.. Amazing that we all made it in and found places to park! A bummer for me since I was near tail end charlie, didn't get to see the incoming carnage. ( lol ) That leg will be on my morning coffee routine for many days to come, definitely a heart starter! Took quite a few pics of this beautiful flight - here. Note, all the PC-6s were substituted by the excellent freeware Cessna U206G Soloy MK1. (over at that "other" site - search text="Soloy", search author="TiAr") Thanks again for the great flight! EDIT - This story came across the desk just now.. How Blue Angels #3 devastated the town of Kelowna, BC (not far from our route) in 1969.
  20. No clue, just got the one from RTMM (updated June '19) - https://return.mistymoorings.com/scenery/#w
  21. Roger, CZBC... You sir, are an evil, evil man! 👍👌😂😜
