Something should be done more with energy audits at the home level and "Energy Star" specifications. My new 65" Energy Star tv used over 250 watts. After a lot of power and screen optimization, I got it down to 80 watts. One day I noticed when it was off it was using 19 watts. There was some hidden remote feature that I disabled and worked for a while, but since various firmware updates, it started using 19 watts again. I hooked up a wifi smart plug to turn it off. My house was built in the late 60s. My first winter the basement got down 32 (one window frame was so badly broken I could an apple through the holes it had). I filled a ton of holes and cracks since then. The lowest I've seen is 65F. In NJ a lot of us have to have radon fans. It burns 100 watts. I'm not sure what could be done to reduce the power usage as it's probably very expensive. In 2000 or so I got a $300 treadmill. I just walk 20 minutes a day and with some diet changes, I have lost 40 pounds. This past year has been tough: I gained a couple pounds because I had to stop due to a wicked bruise inflicted on my toes as my shoes were getting worn out. Years ago I had this installed, but I have since built a new machine and did get a new OS hard drive. FSX, p3d v4 and 5 was on D and E at one point or other over the years. So, D and E have been brought over to the new machine. The problem I am having is PMDG 777 install thinks there is a p3dv4 and p3dv5 pointing to the same v5 directory and so I don't have gear and cannot click anywhere in the VC. PMDG says it's EMT that's causing the issue. v4 and 5 was installed last Fall when I built the new system. I tried uninstalling v4 and PMDG, but that didn't help. FSX is not installed. I submitted ticket to EMT, but they haven't responded. I tried searching around, but cannot find anything.

I ended up reinstalling and those two are there now.

I have this issue frequently. IT seems to come up whenever I lose power to the house. To fix, best way is unplug them all. Delete registry entries MS has a utility https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/usbview. Shut the machine down. Boot up clean. Add them one at a time. If I click admin, the change account type button becomes gray and I cannot click it.

My user id (which is a yahoo email account) shows as being admin, but I still get that popup about do you want this program to make changes? I've had some other weird permissions issues with my e: drive, which I recently moved to this new system. Is it better to have a local account instead of email? Any other hints about this permission hell would be appreciated.

I installed p3d v5 to F:\program files and now getting some add on install issues. I thought it was that I was not admin, but I am an admin. I tried making a sym link to f:\lockheed martin\p3dv5, but I still get issues creating folders and files. admin has full control to F:. I try running the installer as admin, but still have issues. The error is "setup cannot create the file or folder". In Windows Explorer I can create files and directories... I don't see errors in the windows event logs. Any ideas?

I ended up getting Intel 10700k over AMD along with 32 gig of 3600 CL 16-19-19-19 and the Asus TUF Z490 Plus wifi. I stumbled upon something that indicated I could keep my CPU fan: a Noctua DH-14. And I was able to keep my Corsair 750. I don't have one last 4 pin cable next to the eight pin by the cpu, but motherboard and cpu seems to have enough power. There are some threads that indicate this adds heat to the motherboard or was it CPU. So, it was $880 with Windows 10 USB key. FS2020 sure does seem smoother and I can see slight variations in how the plane reacts to different air flows and turbulence that I didn't before.
