  1. The layout looked quite similar to the Aurasim-app for the Dash-8 Q400, and they are working on an app for the 772LR. But I don't think its released yet.
  2. This is a issue I have both with the 737 and the 777. The normal light pattern should be strobe - beacon - strobe, but from time to time, I only have the strobe lights illuminating. Looking at the plane from spot view, I will see the normal pattern for about ten seconds, then the anti collision beacon fails to illuminate for a few seconds before coming on a again. So, normal for about 10 seconds, then no beacon for about 5-10 seconds, then normal again. As I said, I have this issue with both the 737 and the 777, and as far as I can remember, it has been there since the release of the 737. A forum search did not come up with anything useful, so I might be one of the few around here with this issue. It is by no means a huge issue, I do fly from the cockpit, but I was wondering if there might be a solution to it?
  3. Has anyone tried this with the new ORBX LC for Europe?
  4. I've been playing around with it after SP1 and to me it feels ok. I haven't flown the 777 in real life, so I tried to fly like I do with small airplanes (C172, PA34, etc.). For climb, I pitch for the required airpspeed, and then trim to relive of controll pressure and it performs just as in the cessna, it will maintain the airspeed, but you will see it pitch up and/or down if it's not trimmed for the correct airspeed. The same goes for leveling off. With the trim ref speed displayed on the PFD, trim for a different airspeed, and you will see the aircraft pitch up or down to get to that airspeed, but it will overshoot and undershoot for while until it stabilizes on the airspeed. For landings, I usually fly with the AT on, and the all I have to is to correct pitch to maintain the desired glide path, and I don't have any difficulties landing it. Just make sure you are stabilized above 500 ft, or else you will be making corrections all the way down to the runway and screw up the landing (most likely). I tried a few approaches with the AT off, and it works doing it like you would do in a Cessna; pitch for airspeed and power for glide path. With the trim ref speed on, trim for desired approach speed, and make small corrections with the throttle to maintain desired glide path. I must add that trimming in real life is easier than in the sim because you have the feel of the controll pressure. You will maintain altitude (or airspeed if in clb or des), and trim it until the point where you don't have to pull or push on the yoke.
  5. Regarding issue number 2 (I have submitted a ticket): Try switching landing lights on and off, that will fix it.
  6. Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have the similar issue as you have. The difference is that I'm running a fairly new computer (i7-i4770K and a GTX 760) with a 24" monitor with resolution of 1900x1080. Unless I zoom in, it's difficult to read some of the digits on the screens, especially the MFD. This is true for pretty much all the addons I have. Is there any settings I have missed? I have used a guide written by NickN on another forum, both for setting up FSX and Nvidia Inspector.
  7. I'm also considering those two products, but am I correct if say that global base gives you new textures, while vector improves roads/railroads? Can anyone recommend a product for new mesh? I've heard about UTX, but it seems like you have to buy individual regions. Is there a product that offers global mesh?
  8. I tried to replicate those values in the control panel, but I'm not able to use a DOI of 80. The calculate button remains greyed out. Did you have simular issues?
  9. mosteen, I don´t know if we have the same update of FSFRW, but as far as I can see, the format of the file is wrong. I tried just to comfirm, and although it seemed to working when loading the weather in the FMC, no wind info is displayed.
  10. I don't know if you have solved your problem yet, but check your realism settings. There is an option there to show TAS instead of IAS on the airspeed indicator. Check and see if you have that option on. EDIT: I see that you don't have that problem in 737, so that might not be the solution then.
  11. EDIT:Disregard, seems like this is normal. Need to read the manual...
  12. Strange thing. Deleted nHancer and adjusted the settings via Nvidia controlpanel. As I expected, the FPS was still low. But after a couple of restarts for some other reasons (no settings changed), I started FS9 again, and the FPS was three times as high. I hadn't done anything with the settings since the last time I tried...But today I adjusted the settings to try to get rid of some shimmering with the FLyTampa airports, with the result that the FPS dropped again. Changed back to the settings I used, but still low FPS. A restart didn't help either.Seems like my computer is playing tricks with me...Anyone experienced anything like this before?
  13. Bought a new laptop with the following specs:Intel Core 2 Duo T7700Nvidia Geforce 8600GT4GB RamVista 64bitI was hoping to run FS9 with acceptable performance with the sliders to max. but so far this haven't been possible. Is there anyone here with a similar system who could give som advice regarding settings to use? For the moment AA seems to be the biggest problem. Turning it on via nHancer gives a huge drop in FSP, at low settings. The same result if I turn it on in FS9. I have a selected I high screen resolution, 1680x1050, both in windows and FS9, but selecting any lower settings gives me blurry textures and it doesn't look good at all.I would think this system should be sufficient for FS9?
  14. I recently got a problem with runway textures and lights. As you can see from the attached image, the runway textures in distance are black and the runway lights are missing as well togehter with landing/taxi lights. I saw post here regarding a similar problem, but I couldn't locate that post againg. In that post it was mentioned that a effect file called fx_landing.fx could cause a problem like that if it was missing, but that wasn't case here. I tried to replace that file with an original one, but that didn't help.Anyone here who have some advice?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/183400.jpg
  15. Well, both accounts were administrator accounts, so that wasn't the problem. But the account I used was an account which never had been been used so the settings were standard. Could be that there some settings that is making this problem maybe.
  16. Update:Tried with another user account and everything worked fine. Strange thing...
  17. Hello BryanTried to buy FS2Crew using coupon, and I got the same problem as Stephane had. I do have Norton Internet Security installed, but I'm not able to disable it. However, I haven't had any problems with that prevously. Any advice?
  18. Hello!Installed the 1.2 update today, but the SPD and HDG selectors on the MCP are not responding. The only way to get it to work is restore original PMDG747 panel config. I've tried to reinstall both FS2Crew and the PMDG747, but that didn't help.Anyone else having this problem?
  19. I was playing with fs9.cfg and I couldn't find the part where graphic card, trilinear and stuff like that are listed. I tried to delete fs9.cfg and let FS9 generate a new one, but that didn't help. Anyone who knows what's going on?EDIT: Found it! Instead of searching after trilinear in the fs9.cfg, I manually looked and there it was!
  20. Yes, I have catalyst 6.12 installed. Also tried 6.11 and 6.10 without any luck. I tried to install omega drivers, but for one reason or another, I wasn't able to install them. I'll give them another try tomorrow.
  21. Thanks for your reply!I did what you suggested and I got around 40 FPS with the PMDG737 at Seattle (FlyTmapa, no AI). But I still have the annoying flickering, and it didn't get better by redusing AA and AF. Is there anyone here with aATI card that doesn't have this flickering? I remeber reading once that this was a ATI problem.
  22. Hello!I recently upgraded my computer and I hoped this would let me use FS9 with good graphic and FPS, but so far that haven't been the case.My system:MSI P965 MotherboardIntel E6600 CPU1 GB RAMRadeon X1950 Pro 512 MBAlthough this system is better than my previous one, it isnt't performing like I was hoping for. My FPS with add ons like the 737PIC are about 25-30 at both default and payware airport (FlyTampa). I don't know what I should excpect, but I find this a little low.But the worst part is the constant flickering. I had this problem wiht my previous graphic card (9700 Pro), but I was hoping this wasn't case with my new card. All buildings and other objects are flickering when I'm moving, and also textures on airplane. I've attached a copy of my fs9.cfg if anyone is willing to take a look.My grapic card settings are as follows:Anti-aliasing: 6XTemporal anti-aliasing: OnAntisotropic Filtering: 8XHigh quality AF: OnCatalyst AI: StandardMipmap detail level: 3 (from 1 to 4)Wait for vertical refresh: 3Adaptive anti-aliasing: On, qualityI would also like to know what other people with similar system are experienceing in FS9. Thanks for any replies!(This problem also posted at flightsim.no, but I wanted to see if anyone here had any other advices).
  23. Ok, thanks! Do you know if they have Jeppesen flight bags there? And what prices they have on the Jeppesen Captain Flight Bag (if they have that one) and the following headsets: David Clark H10-13.4 David Clark H10-13X?
  24. I've been searching around on the internet looking for a aviation store in the area around Washington DC, but so far I've only found online stores. My dad is travelling to USA next week, and I've aksed him to buy a new headset for me, so if anyone here knows about a store or two in that area, please let me know! :-)
