Hi Nick,I have the VRInsight MCP-Combopanel and it works like a charm with the B744/F - FS9.I can not give any recommendations for FSX and MD-11 as i don't own these however.
  4. Hi,You have set a speed "restriction" of 250/10000 at LSK4L, thats why the aircraft restricts to that speed, even if the speed "transition" LSK3L is mutch higher.
  5. Hi Keith,First leftclick to enlarge them, then richtclick (on top of the enlarged screen) and select "undock".Then you are able to position it to another screeen, even resising the window.edit : i always work in windowed mode, don't know if this works in full screen mode ?
  6. Michael,I don't know how to thank you :( I had the same problems as discribed in this topic : no more autobrakes. All my buttons and axis are via FSUIPC, INCLUDING "filter" option => really don't know why this is for, but anyway ...After your suggestion to untic this option i have autobrakes again :( I have FS9.1 and your excellent B744/B744F (No MD11 yet installed).
  7. Learnt something new, thanks :( Never have used that page before, looks interesting. Now the art is to get the correct windsettings as mentioned here by other members.

Hi Lorenzo,Make sure the letter M is not used by any other program that for some reason uses FS (like FSUIPC, ...), and also that this letter is not used by FS itself !Also make sure FS is the active window! (Not for example FSC, IVAP, teamspeek or whatever!)
  9. Someone will correct me if i am wrong, but in the LEG's page you can only enter speed/altitude.However, you can enter wind aloft data, and these data are used to calculate the descend in VNAV => go to the VNAV page 3/3, then select [forecast] :Here you can enter the FL for the arrival airport, and untherneat there are three free spaces where you can enter wind aloft data (thus three different use the data for the arrival airport).Well, as i said, if i am wrong someone hopefully will correct me ...I am talking about the B744 - have no idea for the MD11!Happy Newyear ;-)

Hey,I'm sure this stuff is mentioned in the "license of agreement", you should find your answer there. But in the case you do change something, do NOT expect any support from the developpers ;-)

I had in the past also a problem with my sound. I am flying B744. Difficult to discribe but at about FL150 that scratchy sound begon. I don't know when (i mean with witch patch or upgrade) it started, it's to long ago. That scratchy sound was the "wind" that blows along the cockpit at higher speeds and altitudes and is typical for this bird. But it was to annoying to listen to, so my solution was to alter the "Sound.ini" file so that this "wind" came up only at FL600 (witch i never reach with this bird. Now my problem is "solved" altough i miss the wind blowing passed FL150.
  12. Thanks,I have also received another converter : http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html
  13. Hello,Is there somebody out there who can explain me how to put the LAT/LON format from "normal" to that used in the AIRAC-files :exemple : EBBR is N50
  14. Dragonair livery is available for FS9 :( Search in Avsim library for this file : "b-kae.zip" in FS 2004 aircraft repaints
  15. I agree with you all, it is standard behaviour in other fora around ...However, it COULD help us if EVERY new topic subject should begin with the aircraft involved, like MD11: ..., B744 FS9: ... , B744 FSX: ..., etc ...This is until now good behaviour for most of the topics, but there are still a lot of topics beginning with : "Help please ...".Offcourse, if you post in this forum it is for help, but it could help people to state in their topic subject the reason for their help AND the aircraft involved. I have the - maybe not so good - attitude to leave these topics left who are not stating the aircraft involved or the very specific reason ...But it would be alot more helpfull if the forum was divided into subfora ...Keep up the good work
  16. If you mean the message "differential brake", then you are right, pay attention to where you place your feet or check your rudders for spikes! But if you refer to the 3
  17. Fot those FS9-pilots (like me), just head for the airports who are AES-capable and there you have everything you want, stairs, cargo loaders, fuel trucks, ... How about that ?
  18. OK, thanks, that clears things up ...
  19. Hi all,I still have FS9 but will in the future transfer to FSX.If i buy the combo version right now, witch contains for the moment only the FSX-version, will i be able to view the tutorial that comes with it, in other words do i have to install the FSX-version (witch i don't can) to access the tutorial or is the tutorial delivered as a separate file in the download ?Hope i explain myself clear ?
  20. >Are we confusing 3 A/P engagement with LAND 3 green>(1500agl)? Perhaps all this was before 1500'? I need to>watch that video again!Hey, Just watched that video also and as far as i can see, the APPR-mode was armed but NOT yet active (LOC captured but glide slope NOT yet). I still can see a white annunciation on the PFD under the green annunciation for pitch mode!Well, it is not SO clear on the video, so please don't shoot me if i'm wrong ;-)

Well John, i am sure it is me, and maybe i am looking to fast so i overlooked it, but in the FMC-manual i can not find anything except what Tompeel says.Anyway Tompeel, the "HOLD" page is really straightforward. Just make sure you hit "EXEC" and "LNAV" is active. Depending of the direction you enter the holding the plane will make some turns and this may look like it overflys the holding but it will return and you will enter the holding. These turns are called "Direct entry", "parallel entry" and "teardrop entry". (Not sure about the last one). You can even program a HOLD at your present position, so you must click LSK6R "PPOS" (it is on the page when you first click the "HOLD" button). So just patient and enjoy the complexity of the plane:-)

Hi Chris,I start ALWAYS with the same "cold and dark" cockpit, even for a short test flight. Not boring at all and good for studying the checklist.Offcourse i have different "flights" spread alover the world and with different liveries, but the panelstate is always "cold and dark".
  23. Look for the "747400gauges.ini" file normally found at : ...Flight Simulator 9PMDG747400gauges.iniOpen with notepad, and look for the line "TCAS_ShowRangeRings=0 and change the "0" into "1". You can find this line under "ND".Save and close the file. Then Rightclick on the file and select "Properties". Select in tab "General" the option Read-only and select "apply" and "OK".Your done. This solution is so simple that one don't even think about it, thanks Rob.EDIT: Aaah, Carl, you where to fast !
  24. Hi Jonathan,I have exactly the same behaviour, don't know if there is a work around. And most of the time i forget to change the INI before flight, so i can't get those rings to work after starting a flightx(
