  1. Ok, thanks very much for those 2 important points, guys!JB
  2. Ok, thanks VERY MUCH! I will try those steps when I get back to my system next week...I think only the bglman.dat file remains in the modules folder, as the corresponding .dll was deleted (and this is probably/hopefully causing the FS9 loading problem). I will report back with, hopefully, good news.
  3. Hi,Like some others have experienced with Cloud9's KLAX scenery and Norton Antivirus, it "discovered" that the bglman.dll file is a "trojan", and it rendered the scenery inoperative. I tried doing a repair on the scenery, and now FS9 does a CTD upon load attempt. So, I uninstalled KLAX with the uninstall, rebooted my machine, and FS9 still crashes on loading, with no warnings/error messages. I have since excluded both FSX and FS9 from Norton's prying eyes....too little too late perhaps....Does anyone have a solution to this problem, without having to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of FS9??!!! I have so much customization involved that it would take me at least a week to get everything back to where I had it before this problem happened....I REALLY hope this problem can be fixed without doing that, and that I can reinstall Cloud9's KLAX....(I have not tried just reinstalling KLAX yet, as I am now over 2600 miles away from home, and this happened right before I had to leave to catch my flight). Thanks for any help/ideas anyone has!
  4. Cloud9's KLAX is only for FS9, and it's very good. Not sure if it will work in VistAKE or not....you can always check the Cloud9 forums at http://forum.fscloud9.it/I haven't found any good KLAX for FSX yet, but I use FS9 for 90% of my flying anyway.
  5. Paul (or anyone?) - what are your FSUIPC.ini numbers for the range of flap settings for the B744? I cannot get to flaps 30, only up to 25 - here is my setting:Flaps=-16037,15254I can get all detents when extending/retracting flaps, except 30....I think that my numbers are wrong...Thanks,Jim
  6. Has anyone been successful in doing this w/FSUIPC? I've tried, but have not succeeded also.....
  7. Thanks very much, Al! I have some reading and testing to do with all of this. One quick question - are your PMDG 747-400 settings universal for all airline/aircraft variants?Jim
  8. I just set up 9Dragon's Kai Tak two days ago, and it's amazing!!! I do have a question - I would also like to use Thomas Kwong's VHHH...are there any special config mods that need to be done to use both sceneries together? Thanks!update - please disregard, as I found the solution from this forum (yeah, using the search feature can help a lot!)Thanks.
  9. Hi Al - yes, please post your fsuipc.ini file contents here, as I still cannot get the flaps and spoilers to work with the GF throttle quadrant. (It works fine for other addon planes as is, so I would be very interested to see what you've done!)Thanks!Jim
  10. I have the full GF airliner configuration plus EFIS, and it works great with the 737. However, with the 744, (FS9.1) the speed brake and flap levers do not work. I have the most recent version, and registered copy of FSUIPC. I have disabled all axes and assignments to my CH yoke and pedals for aircraft controls. What FSUIPC settings are required to make the speed brake and flap levers work properly? Thanks for anyone who can help!Jimps...I also have the FSX version of the 744 and most recent registered copy of FSUIPC for FSX....I have not tested it yet.
  11. Ditto to above, and welcome back to you as well, Captain R. I'm also looking forward to updated news/progress, particularly on your NG2.0! So glad to be able to make my daily check of this and the other AVSIM forums again :( :( Jim
  12. Awesome to have you and OUR HOME back again...congrats to Tom and the AVSIM team for getting the forums back online! :( I guess the next part is getting the file library restored? (A HUGE task, with all of the data, no doubt!)Indeed, AVSIM 1, hacker a**hole Z-E-R-O!Jim
  13. Hey Dougal - did you just copy the sounds folder from the FS9 version into the FSX version's folder (and backing up the FSX one first)? And BSW - yeah, I flew on the B727 alot when I was a kid....those and the venerable DC-9 were the ones that Eastern Airlines and Northeast Airlines had, flying from Friendship Airport (now KBWI) to KMIA & KFLL....truly the golden age of passenger jets and airlines! Flying commercially today is the Wal-Mart cattle drive of aviation by comparison. (I do love the sound of the CFM56-7B engines spooling up on today's 737-700s, though.)It's great that CS has brought the 727 here for us to enjoy, in both FS9 and FSX, and done an awesome job of it! (As well as the awesome freeware planes from HJG! A truly great panel for their newly released DC-9-51 is Stellan Hilmerby's DC-9 panel - www.hilmerby.com, also available in the AVSIM Library).
  14. Search the AVSIM library for it...that's where I got it....(it's for the FS9 CS Legendary 727 though, not for CS's new FSX 727). If you want a copy, send me a message w/your email address.
  15. Andrija - I tried this, but it didn't work for resolving the countdown problem. Interestingly, the countdown completes at some airports, but not others...very strange....Bob - I will try your suggestion to load the default 737-400 first, then switch to the Mouse. Thanks, and I will report findings later,Jim
  16. I am now encountering this same problem, as the INS stops counting down at 6...it used to complete the alignment. I am using the all proper procedures outlined in the ReadMe (and repeated above). Earlier this week I installed the FeelThere/Wilco Citation X....it worked before I installed that plane, but hasn't worked since. Does anyone know if something in that aircraft's setup (to cold and dark, via its setup program) would affect the INS?Thanks,Jim
  17. Hi Bob,Your Tinmouse is GREAT! Some additions/options I would LOVE to see are:1. Sperry 177 MCP2. Completion of PDCS programming3. 3D/Virtual Cockpit4. Wing Views5. An FO panel would be awesome as wellThanks for a terrific B732!!!!Jim
  18. I would echo what everyone else here has said. Last summer I splurged and bought the full Airliner Configuration w/MCP Pro+EFIS controls, and it's been next to flawless. A couple of hickups were resolved through email contacts, and I'm very happy with my purchase and the company. Claude is right - use email or phone...I found email to be the better of the two. Go For It! Jim
  19. Hi Hans,Well, that news quite frankly sucks....I hope he can work out the crash problems soon as well. I still have the OOM problem around SBGL, with or without his scenery, that I never used to have, so something else is going on with my system that I'll have to attack one of these days....Jim
  20. Hi Hans,1. Which SBSP scenery are you using? The other one I have is by Jose Manuel Santos, and is used in combination with SAO2005 - download at http://paginas.terra.com.br/informatica/marcato/sao/1.html If you're using the same one, please let me know so I can try your fix/work-around. (or whichever SBSP you're using besides Marcato's).2. I'm also using Fern's Rio version 8...I've got a couple of other af2.bgl's for SBGL other than the default (they're based on the default)...nothing really outstanding. My SBRJ is excellent...I think I got it off Avsim.Yeah, it would be a pity not to be able to use Marcato's...as I said, it's the best representation I've seen, and going back to the other one really doesn't cut it, visually!Jim
  21. Well, I cannot fly from SBSP to SBGL without FS9 giving me the out of memory message either on final, after landing before turning off the runway, or during taxiing to the gate. I can fly from SBGL or SBRJ to SBSP fine, but when I exit FS after a successful flight, it crashes on exit, most often with util.dll, as previously discussed at the beginning of this thread. I never used to have the out of memory problem, which is happening both with my older SBSP scenery and Marcato's. As mentioned, I also have custom Rio area sceneries and the two airports, and there were never any problems before. Any ideas?Jim
  22. Hi Hans,I deactivated the SBSP scenery, reactivated the other SBSP scenery I've been using prior to Fernando's scenery, did another flight from SBSP to SBGL using FT's B733, and no crashes occurred. I did some research on the FE.dll crashing problem, and it seems to be related to either scenery or aircraft, but more so with scenery, which in my case would make sense because I never had a problem with the other scenery and using either the FT or PMDG 737s when flying between those two airports. I will do another test flight using the PMDG to see what happens. (Those are my two primary aircraft I fly...I "Luv" the B737 series!)I do not use the default FS aircraft because they are woefully inadequate.I don't know if I'll need a higher wattage power supply, as my experiment last night seems to point to a scenery issue. If my next flight in the PMDG goes smoothly, I will deactivate my current SBSP and reactivate Fernando's to see if my hunch is right about it being a scenery generated error....which would suck because as I mentioned, his rendition of SBSP is the best I've seen yet, but if it causes the crashing problem on my particular system, then I cannot use it.I'll report my findings,Jim
