  1. our flight club's two c152s are very stable. if there is a bank, the airplane rolls back to center without input. during my ppl-a lessons in a c152 my instructor adviced me to get hands off the yoke if you get disoriented in clouds. he even demonstrated the aircraft stability on the short final only using the rudder until flare...
  2. i am aware of that. both aiports i mentioned are out of the box (edds from aerosoft, eddn is empty), no custom ones. i do not intend to customize these... ben had a blog about this, and i proposed airport boundaries should exclude dsf infos by default, but no answer there...
  3. the taxiways have been replaced with roads at some airports eg edds, eddn. now i have cars driving on the airports...
  4. my questions: 2 years after release of xp 10, time for a resumee: * did the numer of converts from fsx meet expectations? how about partners (eg aerosoft) and 3rd parties? * which areas in xplane progressed better than expected, which are behind schedule? * did the vision of a plausible world worked out for him? where are the gaps (e.g arts, seasons, living world, etc) * what are the major areas he wants to adress in xp10 and where should 3rd parties step in... * Is xp11 already on the radar? * Will he extend the staff?
  5. the combination of the new mesh and the new landclasses is a blast!!! Especially the new landclasses are extraordinary, great improvement. the green fields for industrial areas are gone, now major cities look as such. with some more artwork in that area, the plausible concept finally dies the trick! congrats to the team, esp. alex for the great new textures and landclasses
  6. dl speed dropped to 30 kb/s - cancelling. sorry, but this will be a miss for me. no problem to donate or support the community, but ii have no relationship to that site, in no way i will create a paying membership 30$ per year there. @andras: we need a different solution here. hmmm, balu gets it done...
  7. it is limited to 2 files with 50kb/s. +40+000 mesh takes 10h 40min. good night...
  8. i enjoyed the ms training sessios and missions. then i used fspassengers, air hauler and others to enrich the experience. made an european tour in a twin and did some csrgo jobs with an twin otter. when xp10 arrived with its living environment i switched overä,. but somehow it did not do the trick. the many gazoline stations are only a small detail to the lack of immersion. xp has everything required but the composition still lacks...
  9. it is a little bit disappointing, there is somebody for the tech, for the textures, for global landclass, and artwork. but there seems to be nobody who orchestrate the pieces to created the immersion for all that many sim use cases... well, new zealand pro (and more) is needed from LR...
  10. the density and accuracy of the new european forests is just stunning! using the photoscenery i realized that in my german flight area EVERY little forrest is perfectly represented. even as landmarks in vfr traffic pattern everything fits. wow!!! never seen something like that! not sure how it looks in other european areas but this is a complete new level!!! congrats to balu and team, concerning forrests x-plane is done!!!
  11. alpilotx: it's really astonishing, what balu and you produce. keep on rockin... since there are so many layers in the process, its hard to follow what is won or lost when using the different packages. i hope you get the bug squeezer ben aligned so that it makes it into the standard!
  12. looking at the lib structure in wed, i realized LR set the foundation for the first landmarks and regional scenery. first folders (US, NZ) and objects are there. we might get some nice surprises in the upcoming months...
  13. the photosceneries are outstanding for vfr flying. and no framerate impact on my machine... and for osm, he plans a dynamic version. osm for good covered areas, the rest autogen. i'm really looking forward to see how that works out... In my opinion that's the way, LR should go as well...
  14. you can save your view positions as well. hotkeys are the numpad...
  15. all i can say is that the carenado c152 v2.1 still has some noticeable roll moment during flight - depending on throttle settings. this behaviour does not exist with the real f152s in our club. they yaw and always need input to stay on track, but there is no rolling...
  16. that sounds great! i just can't understand why your new zealand didn't it make into the xp10 delivery and gets marketed by LR accordingly. For Japan, combine new land class with some HD mesh, a few Japstyle + Airport buildings and some landmarks and XP10 default outperforms even orbx.
  17. or get a force feedback joystick. my good old ms sidewinder pro 2 is still excellent after all the years. there you trim the force out of the stick, just like in a real ga plane.
  18. LR already commented that they will not use osm2xp. let's see what the autogen update of 10.20 will produce... my biggest wish is that they start the croud sourcing for airport buildings...
  19. For GA flights i plan using www.fl95.de, it is specifically for germany and very sophisticated... Inflight (in x-plane AND RL) i use iphone/ipad app 'Air Nav Pro', best in class for germany
  20. hi, this effect happens to me with the default baron, king air c172 as well as with my carenado c152. i do not think a fm tweak will help here. the situation should be easy to reproduce, some light wind from variable directions in the metar string. i'm sure enough feedback has been provided. i'm sure we will get some update in one of the next betas ;-) anyway, x-plane itself and the new conversion style here in this forum is just fun!
  21. indeed, the turbulence issue is still there. i fly the c152 in xpx and in RL...
  22. it was mentioned that the engine is capable. its a question of resources... but to make it clear, i'm not missing the seasons at all, it's all a question of preferences...
  23. ar least in germany, at clear summer sunny says, at lower flight levels there is always some haze in the air. only at a very few sunny winter days you might be able to look >100 nm from the top of high mountains. in that respect, one should not consider FSX athmosphere visualization as reference...
  24. to be honest, i prefer the baron and king air over 3rd parties at the moment...
