Anyone find this aerocache yet? I used Skyvector to get a radial/DME for the coordinate but I have been flying around in circles for 30 mins and can't find it. Anyone else find it?

Flight is like the iPad ...
NoahBryant replied to jackcnd's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
Good points Alex and you hit the nail on the head. Microsoft is doing exactly what Apple did, at first. They are setting the framework and making things the way THEY want it first, which is good. Now we can only hope that in a year or so they have the bugs worked out and are able to set up a system, just like Apple's, where developers can create and submit content to MS which can be reviewed and approved - then MS takes 30%.I couldn't even guess as to if that will actually happen or not, but hopefully it does, because that would be the next best thing for our community. -
Flight is like the iPad ...

Very good analogy and you're absolutely right. All the people who told me : Why is it a 4:3 ratio... It's just a big phone... Should have been based on OSX... Just a toyEnded up buying one and loving it, even my in-laws! -
I completely agree with that - I don't see why in the world they couldn't have waited for more planes. From a marketing point of view - they are going to see their biggest influx of users right off the bat like this. If the game doesn't have something that appeals to someone, that someone is going to be uninstall it and be done with it. They aren't going to keep logging into it hoping that today's the day for whatever it is they want.Even if that's just one helicopter and one jet.Im sure they think they know what they're doing though.

Two of the best moments ever in a flight sim
NoahBryant replied to a topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
One of those moments for me was when I was coming in to land at dusk - the sun was very low and just as I almost touched down my plane passed the tree line and for a very brief second, I actually saw the shadows of individual tree branches and leaves in my cockpit. Wow.Another was when I managed to get into a real spin. In all my FSX time I had never been able to actually spin a plane. It was so cool. -
Welcome to the forums and thanks! I agree with you. I am a hard core simmer but I have a lot of fun with Flight. I spent about two hours on it last night when I should have been working, lol!I think what sets people like us apart from the haters is that we have been able to mentally separate Flight and FSX/FS9 into to two complete different things. Yeah it's like pilotwings, but it's like pilotwings with realistic planes that fly like real planes. I got into a spin last night, I was blown away when it actualy happened. It was an actual, real spin and I recovered from it just like you're supposed to. Not once since I've owned any FS have I seen an actual spin. And that landing challenge where you're landing in a strong, gusting crosswind on what's basically a dirt road with trees along the side - that's was hard to do, and I had fun trying.Just like I sometimes like to play Battlefield 3 instead of FSX - sometimes I like to play Flight. It's just that simple.

Haha, When I first looked at them I thought you were joking about them being FSX shots. I had to really look closely to realize that they were! Great job

My wife doesn't, "get" this but you guys will get a kick out of it...So I was just going to play Flight with my daughter today and I asked her, "Do you want to play your flying game?"She got excited, clapped her hands and said, "YES!"then..."Daddy... it's not a GAME!"

Big Island scenery - pretty disappointing really
NoahBryant replied to blave's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
Interesting - I've never been to the big island, but while doing aero cache hunts I was able to navigate to them by finding them in google earth, then using landmarks, such as buildings, roads and yes, even a pool once, to find it. That was pretty impressive to me at least. -
Tell us how it is. :)

I had this same trouble. The second time, I noticed that despite the warning that it wasn't installed, it actually WAS installed. When I tried to run it however, it gave me an error that it had been modified. So I uninstalled flight, then went back to windows live and downloaded and installed again it finally worked.

ENBO: VORLOC and G/S won't activate
NoahBryant replied to sagitta424's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
I dont think that would effect the APP mode, just autoland. But when in doubt, I always use the course that appears in the FMC when setting the approach speed. -

My favorite place! -
Thanks Stephen -In typing my message to him I was going through everything I had done to try and fix it when I realized what the problem was..it wasn't shade at all. AS2012 had installed the crazy pink texture when I was making a random set of textures which is why I couldn't get Shade to make it go away. Thanks for leading me to the asnwer, lol.I'm loving shade once again! To the OP - Shade is awesome but the user interface is very difficult to understand. Once you're set up though you can forget about it forever and enjoy the scenery.
