  1. The major flaw is not having fresh food on board for the flight. Never see the food truck there ;-) Reider
  2. The RC is not recommended to install. Best to wait for the official release, their are still changes between the two and its not far off now anyway. I am a beta tester and still would not attempt to use this software, until the official public release. It was somebody from Microsoft who told us not to install it.....Reider
  3. Glad it helped along with Lefteris. We all have a mutual hobby and interest, so we try to pool ideas. Its often a combination of these ideas that works. Have fun and enjoy.....Reider
  4. Haven`t got FS9 on now but I have had it on in Vista 32 bit in the past wit no problems..... No intention of putting it back on either ;-) Reider
  5. Yes, I have both and read the message. It was said more matter of fact than anything, whilst it may have come across as a serious message I don`t think that was the intention. Daryl has to make it an official announcement so it just sounds that way. I`ve seen him 'having a go' and I definitely do not think this is one of them.I must say, hats off to PMDG on this subject. They were already dealing with it and have acknowledged it. These overlaps can and do happen with all the best good will and intention in the world.Go get it Graham, you will not regret buying her. Both PMDG and Level D represent a quality and service level for others to look up to. You`ll get a lot of enjoyment and total back up too.Reider
  6. Got to admit, this would be a nice feature..... When I land, I open the doors, its like you`ve really arrived somewhere. Seeing the steps would be the icing on this visual cake.Reider
  7. Why not tell him, he can tell us, then you can just kill him anyway? ;-) Not looking for info on it so only joshing guys.....Reider
  8. Mine runs 15-20fps on average with a 3800 Dual Core AMD, 2 gig memory and a Geforce 7600GT. Most settings on high and running SP1 and SP2 (acceleration) with the 747 in FSX on Vista 32 bit. Graphics are crisp and clear, the sim is pretty fluid. This is ample to fly it and have lots of fun and views along the way.Reider
  9. Don`t hit me, I`m very fragile......If the computer in use is using Vista...... Try selecting the file Lefteris indicates (just click once), then right click the mouse and select properties from the resulting menu. Select the compatibility tab, place a tick in 'Run this program as an Administrator', ok it and try it once more.....If it fails or you`re running XP then I`ll just go back to selling used cars ;-) Reider
  10. I`ve downloaded it but not tried it yet, just had a quick flick around it. It looks pretty cool and fairly straight forward to use. I`d just like to say thanks very much to all for taking the time out to complete this, it has been noted. Thanks once again, much appreciated,Reider
  11. That would really round off this whole package nicely, a paint package and thus more planes to choose from. I have downloaded what their are but a few more English ones would be very nice.Reider
  12. Actually, I think it looks rather good, can we have it as a selectable feature? ;-) Already seen flames coming from one of the Acceleration aircraft, the Mustang I believe.....Reider
  13. All sorted now, usage of an internal USB port was causing problems on the external ports. One of the front (double) internal USB ports was ok, only the rear internal caused the fault. The front sound port system when plugged in internally causes the rear sound port system to stop, you use one or the other. So this port may work the same way.Had a brilliant flight to LOWS-Salzburg, Austria in the 747 today. Such magnificent scenery too..... I think the Seychelles is on the cards soon too..... thanks all.Reider
  14. Check the settings from the file menu, there should be a tick in hear sounds externally, or something very similar.....Reider
  15. I have a problem only with the take off from the airport on the 747 and my 767 in FSX on Vista 32 bit. It very often just loses all thrust and falls to the ground. this only happens with both aircraft when using the FMC-any other time its normal. Frames are great and performance is outstanding for a 3800 Dual Core with 2 gig ram.I`ve tried flashing the bios, a different Mobo, a different joystick, you name it. I had heard the claims that XP was faster than Vista with FSX, I had XP anyway but prior to SP1. So, I decided to install it again. It didn`t fix the take off problems and the FPS was well down. I carried on for 24 hours and am now back in a newly formatted and installed Vista 32 bit. Its a bit ropey this time, but I`d rather sort that than go back to XP-it may work for some, not for me. Now, back to the take off problems, so exasperating, its ok the rest of the time.Reider
  16. Sorry, I`d already added my real name to a signature, but its not coming through yet, just checking it outEDIT: It is now thankfully
  17. Might be coincidence, but the only time it happened to me I was overweight. Not me personally you understand, well I suppose I am, who started all of this? ;-) Go check your fuel.... Reider
  18. >>If the clean speed is above 250 then heavy aircraft are>allowed to exceed, they need to inform ATC prior to departure.> As far as I'm aware when heavy VNAV will automatically give>you a faster speed unless you tell it to maintain 250. Thats exactly what I read and believed too....Reider
  19. You could try installing the Acceleration version of the SDK. Since this fixes some unrelated SimConnect problems that have plagued some users since the advent of SP1. It may even help with this....If you decide to proceed, you need the original SDK from the Deluxe install loaded plus SP1a, this latter file is also on the Acceleration disk. Then install the Acceleration version, its just marked SDK but on starting the install you`ll see its an Acceleration specific install.Reider
  20. Look for WheelCam 1.2 in Avsim. Wheel the mouse back to look in the cabin, forward for the oppsite, / to get back to the cockpit instantly. Press and hold the mouse wheel to pan around the cabin view etc.....Reider AKA Steve
  21. I found the same thing. for the time being I go direct to the PMDG folder in FSX, not the SimObject one, and make changes to the file directly. Just be careful, and take a backup copy of it first. Any changes are then reflected in the menu within FSX and the 747 flight.747400gaugesThe file above is the one it uses. Hope this helps.....Reider
  22. In the main PMDG folder within FSX, not the simbobject one, their is a Readme, its basically a licence, it should have the version number VERSION v2.00.0031The above is the most up to date version. A way to doublecheck is to open the NavData folder. Any of the files should be showing Airac 710 September 27th in them. Version 30 was June, I think Airac 706.....If it isn`t, don`t worry PMDG will sort something out I`m sure, they`re one of the better software producers. Hope this helps....Reider
  23. You could delete the fsx.cfg and open FSX again, to let it build a new one, open a flight/airport then quit to complete the build. Then restart FSX and check it out. However, whilst you state you have SP1 and Acceleration, that means you also have SP2... If you didn`t do a clean install of them all then that might present some problems with third party aircraft.I have the 747, the Level D 767 and Acceleration working in Vista 32 bit on FSX with 2 gig ram on a 3800 Dual Core. The FPS is pretty good, the graphics are brilliant and the whole shebang runs as smooth as something thats very smooth! ;) Reider
  24. The landing/taxi lights seem really dim compared to other aircraft. I realise the cockpit is high up but I really struggle to see where I`m going. If I could shine a torch out the window it might help ;-) I see a switch on the overhead with dim on it (unless thats describing me) but it doesn`t seem to do anything. Help please.....I really want to be born again and see the light!Reider
  25. Don`t use the numpad, has problems. Try combinations of tab+number or something....Reider
