  1. It`s too easy to say well I got mine and I`m happy, deliriously happy and more with the NGX and then shove off. But my heart still goes out to those who do not have it yet, cannot get it yet, have problems using it and last but no means least PMDG. Yes those people who put all of this together, spending long hours. Still not getting any peace now, fighting Denial of Service attacks, trying to support, advise, release and not getting any rest. So pardon me if my guilt fetches me back here occasionally. hope you all get sorted soon and PMDG get some well earned rest and family time too.
  2. Well impressed with the 737 NGX. Took her up from EGCC-Manchester. Quick flute around and then landed, even put her in an hanger. Its 4:48am here so off to bed for a little while, not long though. I have another date with her later. Thanks PMDG and for anyone wavering go get her asap, lovely aircraft. Good luck all, hope you get sorted out. My settings were quite high and I left them exactly as they were, no problems noticed.
  3. Give it a moment or so and try again. It worked for me second or third attempt.
  4. Mine is downloading as we speak/text/mind read. Got some textures for her too. Good luck everyone and just take your time with the purchase, its slow, very slow but hopefully it will get there for you as it did with me. While its downloading I made an archive folder to put a copy of the emails in and the download program too. Then I`ll work off a copy on the desktop. Hope you all get there in the end guys...... Thanks to all at PMDG for your hard work and diligence leading up to this and no doubt well afterwards.
  5. I have TrackIR4 but now using TrackIR5 software. Basically install the software, plug in the special USB cam, after ensuring its in a good place where no direct light plays on it preferably. Start the software and choose either the hat clip or side clip, whatever its called. I use the hat one on a peaked cap and sewed + glued the small frame to the peak and front of the hat. You can clip the side one to a set of headphones alternatively, though I didn`t find this as good as the cap. Try the default Profile first, selectable under one of the tabs. In short use F9 to start/stop it and F12 to centralise it. Then go to the TrackIR part of the forum and search for a profile from Seth. Put that in your TrackIR5 Profiles folder while its turned off. Try it out and if you like it one of the software tabs allows you to set it as the defualt profile for FSX. The rest is just getting used to it, its well worth the effort.
  6. Theirs sometimes a problem with OOM errors in FSX and 32 bit, a long time problem for some including me until I made some changes a long while back and repeated with each new installation/machine. I can only say for me I don`t get them as I use the USERVA command and inrease Virtual Memory to the max advised by Windows. Its easy to say but I`m not expecting any problems in 32 bit Vista with UAC turned off and using my own security, though that isn`t part of the OOM errors but helps.
  7. The product page is 100% up, looking at it now on my other screen https://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/product/ngx.html
  8. He didn`t say which few moments.....
  9. It will be ready when its ready lol
  10. Look in the TrackIR Forum for a TrackIR Profile called Seth_-_Flight.xml and place it in your TrackIR Profile sub folder. Its primarilly for TrackIR5 users but works with TrackIR4 too, I have that one. Its really well setup, quite settled but responsive. You could use that as your base profile and then fine tune from there. Don`t forget to make sure the Seph Profile is used each time you start the TrackIR program, I thought mine was faulty today but the default profile was selected instead. Just minimize the TrackIR program after you open and select the Seph Profile. Good luck,
  11. Try this; http://www.wikihow.c...te-a-Batch-File But remember to save as All Files type not TXT. Then manually add the .bat format at the end. Whereas if its in TXT format it gets saved as myfile.TXT.bat which is wrong.
  12. If you don`t know then you have to ask, no matter if it upsets people or not. I say the only stupid question is the one you never ask. You`ll be ok, I can only just afford the setup in my sig. I was going for just the CPU change from a 2 gig quad but the mobo has been faulty a long time after a power outage in a storm, then the original PSU blowing a week later. I know for a fact, going by both comments from PMDG and past experience in tuning for better FPS, that this system will work pretty well with the 737. I have had lower specs working very well with the J4100 and the 747 too. My only problematic aircraft FPS wise was a certain 757 and that was fixed by taking 2 guages out. Theirs always a risk people will turn away from this forum and quit posting if they get verbally attacked. Its good to leave them some space to write in and ask their questions, much asked or not. Not everyone is as proficent as the next man/woman, we all have to start somewhere and all have problems that need addressing in some form or another. I`d say its much easier just to skip these posts rather than having a go at people, then leave them for others who want to help. Search is all well and good, but I take some medication that affects the brain whilst attempting to kill severe pain. In doing so it occasionally kills my thought control and memory very badly. In more lucid moments I know what to do, other times its like a brick wall in my head. Now when it comes to computers some people have that physical brick wall in their head without the meds. For god sakes let them through, let them post, whats it costing you to skip that post? No offence intended,
  13. I vaguelly recall the 767 having a metal pump or one of its components in the tank. With the remaining fuel gases being ignited by a spark in an explosion. All pilots had to leave a certain percentage of fuel in the tank until they were changed over. The newer models I believe were built a different way. I may not be on the mark but fairly close to it. Its scary really some of the designed safety features that get missed, with many similarities between different aircraft models and ranges.
  14. I guess some people see the video playback, discover all the features and are left wondering if their system will cope. The 737 NGX appears light years ahead of any other aircraft currently on sale so I guess its only natural to have last minute nerves. Not everyone has previously purchased from PMDG before either so they don`t know the true diligence that goes into ensuring a top notch plane that still has a decent set of FPS on most computer systems. People also purchase a computer not knowing how powerful they are, its suprising how many people go into a shop and ask for a good games system but know nothing of what they are purchasing. Theirs an old saying I hold very true "the only stupid question is the one you never ask". No offence intended.....
  15. Good going, I took City & Guilds English and Mathematics at Chester University when I was about 50. I was never any good at Mathematics at school but I guess having worked with computers and in Retail Distribution for so long (nearly 20 years) something must have stuck because I got very high marks, student of the month and had my photo taken for the Uni paper. As far as Geography goes, another poor subject, between G-Plan and FSX I`ve come on in leaps and bounds, though again some Retail Distribution helped. Whatever you end up doing just enjoy it, you worked hard and deserve it. Have fun and enjoy,
  16. Perhaps as his native tongue is not English he is asking if anything has been done to cope with the massive amount of people who may all be trying to download the 737 NGX at the same time. Yes mate, PMDG have worked on the server so that it should cope better with lots of people attempting to download it, don`t worry.
  17. The one with loads of fingerprints on.....
  18. I got a new CPU last week then took the other components out of a case from my collection. Unfortunately the Mobo is buzzing and will not retain OC settings ever since a lightning storm, consequent low power on this estate and then a week later the PSU blew. But this was about a year ago so I cannot attribute it to the NGX preparation. It will be here tomorrow hopefully, my screwdrivers and other tools are on the table ready. Its a FoxConn board and will replace the Gigabyte in my sig.
  19. (1) Set the USERVA command (2) Set the Virtual Memory to the max advised by Windows in a custom configuration instead of letting Windows control it. In XP or Vista its Goodbye to OOM errors.... Tested over multiple machines/software/configs and at least for me works perfectly. Five minutes work and no more OOMs right at the end of a flight, usually in a complex landing and one you have perfectly set up for once. If you`re about to crash it usually lets you, its a conspiracy.
  20. Yes, I was suprised at the comments. No problem at all running the J41 here. I have fairly good settings and FPS is never a problem but then I keep the same tune up regime all the time. I also maintain traffic at 30% or less but with this chip upped it to 50% and saw no difference. I realise I could have 100% traffic with a better system (though I cannot afford that) but really with the amount of aircraft in the package 30-50% is ample. Even with lesser machines FPS has never been a problem apart from a certain 757 but killing 2 guages soon sorted that. I think its all in the way you set your store out, sensible settings and decent aircraft. I never get OOM errors either as long as I run the USERVA command and increase the Virtual Memory to the max advised by Windows. I`ve had full enjoyment from FSX and all my planes. Which on a 32 bit version of Vista is not bad at all. Look forward to the NGX and don`t worry, I`m not. I still have a full build on a new mobo to do, then testing, and looking forward to it too, thats before the NGX gets here.
  21. It will be fine, don`t worry. I put a new CPU in last week, not the best in the world but what I could afford. I hoped to get away with this spare mobo but knew it to be dodgy since a power outage in a storm. Unfortunately its buzzing and not retaining OC settings, something it did only after the power outage and subsequent PSU blow out a week later. So I ordered a new mobo for next Wednesday, luckilly I got an email to say their was a delay and chose another that will be here Monday. So its a build up and retest during the week, hopefully the NGX will follow. I`ll be so glad to end this damn buzzing noise too.
  22. All my tests are done around EGNJ Humberside. Out to the Humber, maybe the Humber Bridge and the sea. Turn and return to runway 21 as I used to live near here til I moved 25-30 years ago. Then I have several planned trips, some for nostalgia, others because I like the route, yet more because its old holiday spots I visited. EGCC and EGGP are near me, so both of them to EGNJ, to EHAM, EDDF, LEPA and thats just for starters. But between the initial tests at Humberside and the routes I`ll do lots of reading, cold and dark starts, etc.....
  23. I`m running the spec in my signature file except the motherboard, which will hopefully change on Monday to a FoxConn board. This and less copes admirably with FSX at pretty good settings, though theirs always room for improvement. I`ve managed with less, had pretty good graphics and some WOWS when posting pics in the JF Forum. The NGX is a relatively unknown quantity though but I have faith that PMDG have programmed her after taking in mind several levels of machine specs. Though it may not look and operate top notch when run on a lesser machine than the popular i7`s I`m sure it will still look pretty darned good and have a degree of manouvreability when set with some common sense settings. I have no worries here and you should not with yours either. I haven`t been let down with my specs so far.....
  24. As a fellow beta tester for other companies I`d feel both proud and honoured to see his name on an aircraft such as this. I`d love to use it as my test plane at EGNJ Humberside-East coast UK, where I usually test most virtual aircraft. As I have family in the area and I live 100 miles away on the West coast this area is very special to me. Even more special knowing every time I take the aircraft up to test he is there in name too, still testing.
  25. Its a download for me. With full archival of the install file and textual copies of the emails I have full confidence in the system and of course PMDG. This doesn`t extend to all companies but a good few are to be trusted with this delivery method and follow up service.
