  1. Very interesting... I've got some ideas of my own already.I haven't checked out the PMDG paint kits before though. I guess they can't be much different from any other paint kit!I kind of wish there were a 748 kit...
  2. Look for anything from Tim Conrad (aka Piglet). You won't find his files on AVSIM though. He only uploads to Sim-Outhouse and Flightsim.com.
  3. I've also had the -12000 show up from time to time. However I COULD go in there and edit it, so it hasn't really been a problem. However I have been running into some other weird things. I'll post more on it later if I can consistently reproduce anything.
  4. Glad I could help! You should join my SOH hoplist server sometime... :(It's perfect for hopping around in the Citation.
  5. I'm using a X52 Pro. My CH yoke and rudder pedals failed me.I'm thinking about picking up another set of pedals soon though.
  6. It is really a shame that Track IR won't work with this. It looks like a really neat addon. :(
  7. I'd also appreciate this. Flight1 has a fully functioning FADEC system with their Citation Mustang. It doesn't require any FSUIPC iirc, let alone a paid version. However I am happy with how it works now without a registered FSUIPC. Having it use simconnect or whatever else would just be more icing on the cake. I know it's not that simple. :(No paints today guys. I was too busy enjoying the plane. In fact, I'm off to do another flight! :(
  8. You can do all of that with Airport Design Editor (http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/) and SBuilderX.As far as repainting goes, dxtbmp still works for conversions. I use photoshop for my actual painting though. Some people use the DDS plugin in Photoshop for converting the textures too.
  9. Not being sarcastic at all. It was actually one of the most intelligent things I've read on this forum. :(I couldn't have said what you said better myself.
  10. My flight sim experience? Uh... ok. :(Until photoreal can match FTX or UTX + GEX, I'll be using "normal" sceneries.
  11. I'd venture to guess the majority of people who use the FSX forum fly GA more than heavies. Not because of performance, but because of the subject material. Many people find airliners to all be the same and find programming a FMC over and over again boring. Whereas hand flying a 172 or a bush plane is a bit more interactive. I like to shoot the gap and fly business jets and turboprops that can be flown by hand or with a FMC. That's one of the most intelligent things I've ever read on this forum.
  12. Does it have night textures? How about seasons? What about water masks? Buildings? Trees? Light poles?
  13. Well I did another short flight in her tonight. EGLL to EDDF. Went without any problems. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite FS addons of all time. I really REALLY needed a nice business jet. I can't wait to see what its like once the VC update is finished. Thanks again Eaglesoft team! :(One of these days I'm going to break out the paint kit. Probably on Wednesday.
  14. As an IT student, cloud computing scares me. I absolutely despise the idea.If/when it happens, I'll be switching careers. Mailman anyone? :(
  15. I'm not experiencing any gauge refresh rate problems in the VC in my FSX version. :(
  16. I dunno if its a placebo effect because its a shiny new program or what, but I just loaded up a flight at the local airport and looked outside (in real life) and they looked exactly the same. ASX and ASA got close, but not like this. :(I wonder if the temperature issues were fixed with ASE? I guess I'll try it out on a flight later.
  17. You can purchase the latest navigraph AIRAC at the navigraph website.http://www.navigraph.com/www/fmsdata.aspAs you can see, Eaglesoft is supported now.
  18. Yes, there are Navigraph updates.I decided to make my own sig banner for now... :(
  19. Very cool! This is really looking to be one of the best FSX addons.P.S. Do you guys have any forum banners for the plane? I'd happily wear one!
  20. I guess I'm hoping for something a little different. I know PMDG focuses on commercial aircraft, but a fully simulated GA plane would be really cool.A cessna, beechcraft, or piper of some sort would be real neat. I'd wager it would sell pretty well too.
  21. I've expressed it many times on this forum before. I don't know why I am a commercial member. I've never made a penny off of FS. I've spent thousands, actually. I never chose to have a commercial membership.I'll express my opinion as anyone else does, thank you very much.I have no problem with people enjoying FS9. I have no problem with people saying FS9 is good for these x, y, z reasons. I don't even have a problem with people who choose to be a really excited user.I do have a problem with people misusing information to sway people the way they wish. I do have a problem when people accuse companies like PMDG as being part of some giant FSX a really excited user club. They are doing what sells. Get over it.The fact remains it is almost always FS9 people who bring these topics up. It is like FS9 users have to somehow reassure each other that they are still using the "in" sim in order for them to be happy. On other forums like SOH I never see anyone starting threads like this in the FSX area. It rarely happens here too. Just in the FS9 section here and at other popular forums. Your sim is in the decline. It will continue to be supported by fewer developers. FSX will continue to become more popular.Time for class.
  22. I'm currently not associating myself with any company (by my choice). For the record, I've never been associated with PMDG. I'm just a college student interested in FS and photography. That being said, I'll answer the rest of your queries. :( The AVSIM poll is also meaningless. Lets put it into perspective. Say Fred and Roger are running for governor. On my block, fred gets 10 votes, while roger gets 12. Of course, these results mean absolutely nothing compared to the overall result. 22 votes in a state where 10 million people live is... well... you do the math. OK OK, the AVSIM survey was a little bigger, but it is maybe only representative of people who voted in a small city within the state. What does either survey have to say about the people who don't use AVSIM and didn't fly the RTW race? What does that say about the people who didn't vote for governor in my example? They still live in the state, and still use and buy FS products. You CANNOT make generalizations on a whole population based on VERY small samples. It is hilarious seeing people throw statistics around here without actually knowing what they are talking about. Take a stats class, at the very least! There are more FS9 addons than FSX addons because it is EASIER to develop for FS9 and FS9 has been around for LONGER. To make even a simple repaint for FSX requires more than double the work it took in FS9. To make the rest of the plane requires a whole lot more effort than it did in FS9. The standards are also higher in FSX, thus taking more skill and more time to develop for it. And what a surprise... FS9 has more downloads. Might that have to do with there being 100x more files available? For the last time, PMDG KNOWS WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THEM. THEY WOULDN'T DROP FS9 IF IT WAS WORTH IT FOR THEM. I don't understand why you people cannot get that through your heads. It is NOT in a company's best interest to make decisions that would put them out of business. IF FS9 WAS PROFITABLE FOR THEM, THEY WOULD STILL BE MAKING FS9 ADDONS. PERIOD.Oh, and about the number of posts in the FS9 vs FSX sections. Take a look at another forum like Sim Outhouse that was entirely wiped a while back. The FSX section has 116,000 posts, and the FS9/8 section, 45,000. Truly if the unrepresentative population at SOH is representative of everyone else, there are obviously more FSX users. Oh wait, that's using your guys' logic.Sorry, nothing you asked was thought provoking. Just the usual misuse of statistics and denial that I've seen in every other FS9 vs FSX thread.Off to SQL class... enjoy the rest of the thread!Oh and before I go: Nope. There is nothing wrong with enjoying FS9. I enjoyed it for many thousands of hours myself. What is wrong is misusing statistics which in the end misleads people.
  23. ROFLMAO this is the icing on the cake.22!!! samples. Incredible! :( :( :( This forum is brilliant. There is so much free entertainment. Why go watch a comedy or go to a comedy club, you can just read one of these threads?!Sean/cmpbellsjc, congrats for handily owning every f*nb*y on this thread.*Time to go back to the upper deck and watch the rest of the game*
  24. Mach 3 eh? That's a fast Concorde! Under 160 knots on landing? Uh right...Are you sure you have the right plane here?
  25. Does the paint kit in the downloads section at eaglesoft work for the FSX version? I plan on doing a paint or two... however I won't do anything photoreal. I don't believe in or like photoreal stuff. Just a personal choice. Here's a set of screenshots from yesterday:http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/w...7-30-48-997.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/w...7-32-57-877.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/w...7-33-56-168.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/w...7-34-21-612.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/w...7-34-39-762.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/w...7-34-55-983.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/w...8-57-47-870.jpgThe only edit was a slight downsize so they would fit on photobucket. They were originally 1680 x 1050 and are now 1440 x 900.
