  1. Those are the defaults. Not sure whether that will work or not on your setup. Assuming you are hearing all other sounds (are you ?), suggest you set Voice to the same as Sounds and see if that works. Better still to set Sounds and Voice explicitly to your main sound device though.
  2. It's probably worth checking that your setting for Voice sounds in FSX settings is still set to a valid sound device and at a sensible level. Just possible that if you started FSX with an empty Sound\ATC folder that it reset those values.
  3. I don't believe that logbook.bin is readable using 'normal' programs like Adobe or notepad. But if you copy it and paste it into your new system it should be OK in FSX. I've done that several times when upgrading systems.
  4. It is certainly possible to do that with EVP. It comes with some "Community Modifications", one of which may do that, I can't recall. But if not, you can make your own modification to do it. There's a bit of a learning curve, but once you've mastered that, EVP is great fun and very powerful.
  5. I can say for sure that the problem on my system was not there from the beginning, as I happen to have some screenshots of the same area before and after, and the lines ain't there before. What I don't know is before what. I suspect like others, the problem had been there for a while, but I'm making changes all the time and so I can't pinpoint what change caused it. But I'd been running FSX for years without them. I suspect they only appeared after I started changing the default water (with UTX/FEX and later FSWC), but I can't be sure.
  6. I should perhaps mention that I first saw the problem before I installed FTXG. At that time I was running UTX/FEX/GEX. It was particularly noticeable in wide river estuaries and inshore.
  7. I had exactly this a while back (though I am using FEX not REX for my water textures). Fixed it with freeware FSWC setting Base Texture Colour Intensity to 100%. No guarantees that will work for you, but worth a try maybe. In any event, if you don't already have it, FSWC is an excellent tool.
  8. The MCE dev support is excellent. I know the devs do watch this forum, but an email to them usually gets you a reply by return (as you found out !)
  9. This may not help, as I use FEX rather than REX, but I also found some tiling (or rather a grid pattern) appearing in my FSX water, particularly in morning and evening. The solution in my case was to set Base Colour Texture Intensity in FSWC to 100%. Good Luck !
  10. The only problem I had with it was getting it to register in FSX as a Control. You need to spin it many times before FSX sees it. But after that, it works just fine. I'm guessing you got past that point since you say you can Calibrate it. Which aircraft have you tried it on ? Reason I ask is that I know I have one on which it doesn't work, and another where its action is reversed.
  11. So they bowed to customer opinion and made it configurable ? That's good news.

There is also a product called Virtual Audio Cable (search this forum for more info) which allows you to create multiple output channels from your sound card and even direct the same FSX sound to multiple USB sound processors. Although it has to be said that not everyone has been able to make it work successfully without intrusive noise.
  13. That's interesting. I never had that problem, though I did notice that you needed to spin it the very first time to get it registered in FSX settings/controls.
  14. Everything Jeff said ! That's the only function of MCE that I use, and it's brilliant. It allows you a lot more flexibility in your phraseology than some of the alternative products. And as well as setting the frequency by voice, you can also dial a frequency via the on-screen radios or an external radio module and MCE will go find the nearest airport within range with that frequency. Pretty neat. And agree, support is excellent.
  15. Ah. I actually use the Saitek radio panel with the Saitek driver, not SPAD/FSUIPC, which I acknowledge does have some advantages. I've never tried MCE with a radio panel driven via FSUIPC (maybe others have ?) But I believe your analysis of what MCE is doing is correct.
  16. Sorry - just checking whether you were using a pukka radio panel or something else. It sounds like the Elite panel works differently to the GoFlight and Saitek panels though.
  17. It looks like this file was introduced with Acceleration. Earlier releases of FSX without Acceleration won't have it.
  18. Which panel are you using to change frequencies ? The Saitek and GoFlight radio panels work fine with MCE using [Go-FLIGHT] Use =1 in mce.ini file. MCE monitors those as described above. Not sure about other hardware. If you just use e.g. a numeric keypad I'm guessing it will interpret the keystrokes separately and just select the ATC options as you describe.
  19. That's interesting. All my systems are FSX Deluxe Edition (with SP2) and they don't have that file. I have a Gold Edition somewhere, but never installed it.
  20. I recently acquired an aircraft addon which references the above file in the Effects section of aircraft.cfg. This file does not appear in any of my FSX systems or my old FS9 system, all of which have fx_tchdwn_s.fx (small) and fx_tchdwn.fx (normal/large) but not fx_tchdwn_m.fx (medium). I asked around, and it seems like this file is unique to P3D. Is that true ? Not a big deal to fix, just curious. But if this is the case it does mean that developers need to take it into consideration when creating models for all three sims.
  21. I don't use Line Up and Wait myself, but I believe it is in the ICAO Phraseology Community Mods. You can also export it and then reimport it to My Modifications and use it with FAA phraseology if you wish.. See this topic: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/328568-line-up-and-wait-edit-voice-pack-mod/
  22. The other tip I would offer for the future is to use a disk image backup tool like Acronis and take a complete backup before making any changes, so you can restore your system to what it was before. That has saved my bacon on a number of occasions. Good luck ! Edit: looks like Dave beat me to it !
  23. I certainly don't have the skill to say, but my guess is that reversing the procedures may not put you back to square one. You might try asking Nick himself over on Simforums. I've always found him very helpful.
  24. Not saying this is your problem, but Nick does emphasise that you need to follow his guide exactly i.e make all the changes in precisely the order stated. Skipping steps can definitely cause issues.
