  1. Not fixed at all. You can set them up wherever you want them (using the cursor keys) and then move between them smoothly at your whim. I should say I don't have EZDOK (setup problems frightened me), so I can't make a direct comparison, but personally I find the Opus Live Camera Views very easy and intuitive to set up and use.
  2. You should also look at MCE (Multi Crew Experience). It allows you to talks to default FSX ATC or Radar Contact in a much more natural and less rigid way than VoxATC requires.
  3. Sir T - there is something else that you can do. Your PTT input is only processed when you release PTT or it times out. I can't recall what the default timeout is, but you can set it to a very long time if you wish. This means that you can say your input with PTT pressed even though others are talking, then wait for a gap in the chatter and then release PTT. If you're lucky, your PTT input will be processed before the chatter begins again. It can be a bit hit and miss if traffic is very busy, and of course it's not exactly realistic, but it does work. I do it all the time.
  4. I have today received the following response from the SimXperience folks re support for FSX/P3D: Thanks for inquiry. I apologize for the late reply. I didn't want to give you an incorrect response. After talking over our current project schedule, I don't think it will be possible to add support for these titles in 2013, but it's definitely something we will look at in 2014.
  5. I fixed this with Water Configurator, but I believe that doesn't work in DX10.
  6. I'm certainly in the market for the right product (at the right price of course !) And this thread has been an eye-opener - I didn't realise most of these products existed. Thanks for kicking it off. And you're right about the import costs - and hassle. I've had many instances of shipments from US going astray, and importing from Eastern Europe seems a little akin to pulling teeth.
  7. I have asked Simexperience whether they have any plans to support FSX and/or P3D. If they do, then that looks like a contender, although it takes up more space than some of the others. The problem with quite a few of these (for me) is that since they are aimed mainly at driving games, the seat geometry is typically not ideal for an aviation cockpit.
  8. It looks like the GS gizmo was originally designed for driving simulators, which would explain why it majors on left/right front/back movements, and the seat remains pretty much stationary. I could live with that, provided there was at least some vibration transmitted through the seat. Otherwise I'd be tempted to bolt a Buttkicker to it. (I still can't get over the amount that little blighter adds to the immersion factor).
  9. Well, my eyesight isn't what it was, particularly when it comes to figures, but when I look at the RC link posted above, it says the platform is £6500.00 (plus delivery). Which makes sense. Last time I looked at it, it was priced just over £5K.
  10. Agreed. The more people that express an interest, the more likely they are to take notice. I've registered my claim.
  11. "Function only available with FSX Acceleration" ^_^
  12. I looked at the RC platform a while back. It's very nice, but at 4x the price of the GS offering, it's too expensive for me.
  13. I hope not. Not that I have anything against EZDOK (although I do happen to prefer Opus/Accusim for these FX), but I would hope that this device would interface direct with FSX (maybe via FSUIPC ?) rather than tie itself to any other specific add-on. It opens an interesting area of discussion though.
  14. I'm very interested too. I agree with William that the price is not that bad for what it is. Some competitive products come in at 4 or 5 times this price tag. But I would certainly want to see evidence of it working with FSX before I parted with any cash.
  15. This was what I was thinking of, but it may not be what you want: http://z13.invisionfree.com/Bushpounders_Flying/index.php?showtopic=1817 This thread may be helpful though: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?244386-Runway-Effects-file
  16. There certainly is (or was) a fix to reduce the amount of dirt/snow being kicked up. It may or may not fix your problem. I think I may have it somewhere. I will take a look.
  17. This may be a really dumb question, but does this only affect registered copies of FSUIPC ?
  18. I know ADE lets you specify whether a runway is available for takeoff or landing, but that didn't work for me. FSX ATC (Default) still selects the runway anyway. Maybe something specific to my setup.
  19. Check out this topic http://forum.avsim.net/topic/402321-solid-prop-circles-in-fsx/ Edit: correct link
  20. You can modify airports with ADE (Airport Design Editor). But the only way I've found to stop ATC selecting a particular runway is to mark it as closed. Others may have found a better solution.
  21. FS9 aircraft with VC rain effects will work in FSX too. You just need to copy the FS9 rain fx files across to FSX. Somewhere on here is (at least) a thread explaining how to do this. I fly the FS9 Plane Design Lancaster in FSX and the VC rain effects are pretty damn good.
  22. You can specify Hi-Res VC somewhere (can't recall whether it's in Settings, or fsx.cfg or aircraft.cfg - I'll check next time I'm in FSX) Also an interesting thread here: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?214623-Sharper-Virtual-Cockpit-Textures
  23. I used to have this problem with the default Cessna. Then someone told me the max P-Factor setting in FSX is unrealistic and to adjust it down (in FSX Settings). I did that and all was well. It still pulls to the left on high power settings, but not in cruise.
  24. You need a freeware program called FXEditor. From memory, it comes as part of a suite of programs which also includes ModelConverterX, but googling it should work. It allows you to create/edit FX files and displays the effect in real time.
