  1. I have almost exactly the horsepower you have and sometimes it seems to crash for no reason but, if you check your log.txt after the crash there'll usually be something there. FYI my 'absolute' settings are HDR - one dot from right Textures - one dot from right Antalias - all the way right World Objects - one dot from right Reflections - nothing.
  2. Once you get past the word not allowed stuff, it's really good procedure wise.
  3. Nice shots - I queried 'PropStrike' about the mods since it has a three bladed prop but still fixed pitch. They told me it's modelled after a C206 but still the original O320 and those humungous tires. Push your weight up to gross and the belly cargo pod attaches - see how it goes then.
  4. I've personally logged over six thousand hours in light aircraft and never encountered some of the features in X Plane. The sim is the concept of the owner and thus he can pretty much dictate how things are done. Fortunately most users have learned to live with these 'lapses from reality' 'cause it really is a good sim overall.
  5. Check this one out - https://propstrikestudio.com/ It's basically a modded C172 using the basic default structure and it does offer a tailwheel version - last but not least it's FREE.
  6. Take a look here - if you click a couple of extra things it'll show disused and other airports. https://ukga.com/gis/airfield
  7. Looks like Austen got loose again - follow something taking off from a grass strip and you'll instinctively duck to avoid the mud being slung at you.
  8. Re WT3 - bought it months ago, ended up rezipping it - not for those in the 80+ age group.
  9. The best livery ever is/was the Loganair with the tartan tail - it would be superior marketing to find that one in the new set.
  10. If you're born Scottish, you're always Scottish no matter what.
  11. Hopefully it'll get a makeover soon - getting a bit long in the tooth for xp 11.30.
  12. Not sure about turbo but Just Flight has one as does VFlyte which I have - it's fine.
  13. Here's a shot of Stornoway in GB North using Xvision (Renault's preset) and UWXP.
  14. Not many of them in Orbx GB - I get it all over that. Thanks, though, for the reply.
  15. Not an attention getter but definitely a head scratcher. Now I'm using UWXP and when I get the forementioned condition, a slight touch of of the 'cloud size' slider in UW gets rid of the problem. I can't imagine UWXP causing the problem 'cause it was there without UW but UW certainly removes it - go figger.
  16. There's a freeware J3 Cub by 'Apilot'. Fly from the back seat - easier for directional control and finding the ground.
  17. After loading and opening screen, any selected couds are based at ground level and surrounding the plane like fog. Adjusting the bases upward provides a small amount of breathing room but not much. Had this once before and fixed it but memory does not serve. Using v11.30 and Xvision.
  18. Since you don't want to DIY (it's really fairly simple if you do some research and read the instructions) try looking for a person or persons who will build to your specs - it's all about CPU, GPU (Vram) and as much RAM (memory sticks) as your checkbook can stand. At least 700W power is nice, Mine is fairly old - i5/3750-GTX1060(6gb)-16GB(RAM) but it handles slightly high graphics settings.
  19. Since I live in Washington State I have to agree with your description. My concern is that without the Canadian data there will be a demarcation line right in the middle of the good stuff - a real eyesore.
  20. Tony - a bit tangential to the topic but, since you're the Regions man, I have to ask. Are the two PNG sceneries on the port list? IMHO they are the best. I know PNW is up there but, without the Canadian portion, it's not going to fly nearly as well.
  21. It does fly as good as it looks - had the previous version so, with that discount, it was a no brainer. A beautiful, well-mannered airplane.
  22. If you mean fuel tank selector, it should be on the floor, between and slightly ahead of the seats.
  23. I suppose flaps applied in increments show lesser pitch change but when, like the Spit or my takeoffs, they're deployed immediately full, the pitch reaction is greatly increased. In Ernie Gann's great book "Fate is the hunter" he recall's a wartime takeoff in a converted B24. Apparently it was towards India's famous Taj Mahal and only the sudden application of full flaps allowed him to miss it.
