    Mostly a read only guy, but this price discussion got me thinking. My other hobby is model railroading. You want to see some insane prices, come over and try to get into that hobby as a beginner. $90 bucks for a product that includes sound and based on a real jet is a steal. In order to get sound with your locomotive in my other hobby, get ready to pay $250 bucks or more. You want that really cool BNSF car you see in your hometown yard everyday. Get ready to pay $50 bucks or more for it. If you think $90 bucks is too much.   2. Hi Bryan, I'm glad to say that the problem has gone away for me. I have done three flights now with the NGX voice version and GSX and have not had a crash at shutdown. Not sure what finally cured it, but this is what I've done in the last week. 1) Downloaded the new stand alone addon manager from FSDreamteam 2) Installed 2 GSX updates 3) Downloaded and installed the Vista uiautomationcore.dll and put it in my FSX root folder Christopher
  3. Hi Bryan, External source is set to APU for gate arrival and I don't change a thing before shutdown. The only reason I happened to notice this on my last flight was I happened to to look down at my FMC and saw it.
  4. Hi Bryan, Just did a flight and I noticed something. Just after shutdown the FO goes to the ground page on the FMC and sets the chocks and then removes them. He flips through a few more pages and goes back again and sets the chocks. Is he supposed to set the chocks twice?
  5. I would venture a guess that the real reason your posts were deleted was the fact you forgot the golden rule of this forum. Always sign you posts with your real name. As for spending money on the manuals. I know people who spend hundreds of dollars on downloadable content for their Playstation games. They have their hobby, I have mine and if it does include a $400 dollar set of manuals to increase my enjoyment so be it.
  6. When I got the 737 Chief pilot set, I payed about 24 bucks to Fed-Ex when they billed me about a month after I received them. I assume about the same amount will be due with the 777 set. Christopher Veltri
  7. Having used the Warthog a lot in the DCS A-10C sim before using it to fly the NGX. I can say that the stick is a great piece of kit. I have had no trouble with the smoothness or quality of the WH. Now I do admit it does take a little bit of imagination when flying the NGX since the real one has a yoke instead of a joystick.A few years ago I had a great opportunity to chat with a real "Hog Driver" and when I asked him about flying the real thing this is what he related to me. The real aircraft takes some getting used to, although you wouldn't think the aircraft would bank hard left with just the slightest touch of the stick, it will, very easily. So his instructor told him to fly the jet and only use the autopilot when he needed to concentrate on something other than flying and to use a gentle touch when trying to get the aircraft where he wanted it to go.Why did I tell that story. The stick does take some getting used to and the more you can hand fly, the better it will help you adjust to getting it just right and becoming a proficient pilot with what ever aircraft you fly it with. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone who can afford it. it will most likely be the closest I will ever get to flying the real Warthog. Now if only PMDG would put afterburners on the NGX so that I can make up time when I'm late
  8. Hi Patric,I used that exact joystick for about six months including many flights with the NGX. For the price it is a fantastic joystick and I never had any problems with it when flying the NGX. In fact, I think I had some of my best landings with that joystick.

  10. The Honeywell colour is right on the Sun Country paints. Orange as it should be. Seemed to me that the default PMDG paint also had orange for the Honeywell. Could be wrong since I prefer the Collins when I'm not flying the Sun Country paints.

  13. Hi D.J. If you want it right away. Thats what I did. Bought and downloaded on my Mac, than used a USB stick to move it to the flight sim computer when my upgrade was done and installed the aircraft. But as Matheus said the discount is going to be around for a month if you can wait till you get your rig up and running again.
  14. I doubt I will find any problems since the NGX works perfectly well with the only piece of software I use when flying other than weather. My VA's ACARS program.
  15. Hi, Just my opinion. I would rather have a realistic aircraft that works right, than one that relies on FSX code to work and talk to FS Flight Keeper. PMDG has made it known for awhile now that the 737NGX would have a lot of custom code outside of FSX. I'm on the test and support team for the other 737. You have been amazed at the people that came on the forum and stated the plane was broken since they did things that they were not supposed to do. You can test all you want with 10 people or 100 and people will still think you missed things. I was taught by a real world 737NG pilot that V/S should only be used to make small climbs and descents and it is never used on climb out after take-off.

  17. Hi Mike, I just loaded up a flight plan from YCFS to YSCB and can report that I did not have a CTD when I entered YCFS. Just to note I'm using the ORBX airports. *Edited to correct airport*

  19. Hi Ernie, That was the problem I was having. highlighting the number 1 and pressing enter would freeze FSX. For some reason however, after the computer was off for about 8 hours. I loaded up the tutorial this morning and the FMC didn't freeze anymore. I was able to complete the tutorial flight without problems. I have also tried a number of flights with saved flight plans and the FMC is still working. I have no idea why it started working, but i'm sure glad in my case it did.
  20. Hi Mike, Won't even let me manually enter the flight plan. Same thing occurs. FSX freeze as soon as the enter key is pressed. Even when I try to enter KHPN manually.
  21. Hi Mike, I'm sure Ofer and I are having the same problem. The FMS turns on fine. I hit enter three times to get to the active flightplan list. Clicking on the little arrow to load the KHPN-KIAD flight plan results in FSX freezing and the only way to get out of FSX is to Control-Alt-Delete. I have tried to reinstall the J41 3 times with no luck. No other flightplans in the folder other then the tutorial one. Also, no error message just a complete FSX freeze up.
  22. Hi Dan, I am having the same trouble with the tutorial flight. Everything is fine till until I try to activate the tutorial flight plan. FSX freezes and I have to use the task manager to get back to the desktop. Then when I try to reload the tutorial after restarting FSX. The aircraft does not load up the tutorial aircraft state correctly and none of the displays work when turning on the master avionics switch. Only after a reboot of the computer does the tutorial load correctly again.
