  1. United even has a KSFO-KLAX flight on a B777. However, it is likely the only reason they run it is for aircraft repositioning.
  2. If you are right about the release date, I think Ryan might need to be sacrificed.
  3. I am really not convinced. By the time Boeing developed the NG, the 737 Classic had a huge customer base. Airlines like Southwest wanted commonality (or as close as they could get), Boeing could not afford to really throw out the current cockpit layout and start from scratch. It really was not foresight but more like we are stuck with it.
  4. I don't really know if that is a true statement. As they want to maintain commonality with all 737's I don't think they had a choice but to keep it. On aircraft developed since the launch of the 737 the layout is different.
  5. TOPCAT only has performance information for the 700 and 800 versions of the 737NG. While the main noticable difference between the aircraft might be length, the different versions use different engines (mainly software differences). Thus don't expect the derates to be the same.Example:B737-600 CFMI CFM56-7B20B737-700 CFMI CFM56-7B26B737-800 CFMI CFM56-7B27
  6. I would suggest you head over to the Level-D Forums for support. This is an unoffical forum.
  7. Here is that preview of the external model...
  8. Air India Express exclusively operates the 737-800WL. They are a subsidiary of Air India so its fudging it a bit.
  9. I like the weathering! AF aircraft often look like this!
  10. The fuel loads and payload are loaded into a program which uses data provided by Boeing I believe to calculate fuel loads. This is actually generally done by dispatch and not pilots. It is then printed out and given to the pilots in addition to the paper flight plan.
  11. I remember reading somewhere that they generally will do something like 2-3 test flights. Look for flights originating from KRNT in flightaware and you might find some test flight routes. Also they don't get rolled out at KBFI. The 737NG production line is next to KRNT (Renton Municipal Airport). I doubt the ferry flight is non-stop and probably has a fuel stop somewhere, Halifax perhaps? The procedure to get it into service probably varies by airline. However, I doubt they land it in Shannon, refuel, and having going on the next flight to EIDW or something like that. (Pure speculation on my part) EDIT: Actually prior to delivery the aircraft is in KBFI but the first rollout of the aircraft is a KRNT. The Production line is in Renton but fitting of cabins and painting is done at KBFI.
  12. I completely agree! I was worried the HGS was going to be a gimmick. However, I can't fly without it now!
  13. The HGS control panel logo I think is deliberate. Although the HGS for the 737NG is actually made by Rockwell Collins. If anyone is interested here is the manual for it: http://jlaroche.com/cqfa/280-BVN/Documents_BVN/B737_9701-1071%20Rev%20C.pdf
  14. I believe that SOP is to do the full alignment when time allows. If there is not enough time then you can do the fast alignment. In any case IRS alignment should be completed prior to every flight.
  15. The download link is only valid for 7 days. So I would suggest you download the installer and keep it on a flash drive or some other external media. I think the activation should go fine. However, if it does not just submit a support ticket with PMDG and I am sure they will sort it all out.
  16. Are you installing a fresh copy of Windows or are you trying to do the "upgrade"? I would suggest you backup your data and reformat your HDD from the Windows installer. EDIT: flyingscampi beat me to it!
  17. I have only seen it installed for the Captain on the NG. I looked on Airliners.net and all of the images with the HUD have it only on the left side of the cockpit.
  18. I use simroutes.com for exporting flight plans to FSX and the PMDG .rte format.
  19. Is the aircraft powered up? Is the IRS aligned and the PFD in a "normal" flight state?
  20. First off you may need to select the HUD in the CDU's PMDG menu so that it is installed. Once it is is selected as installed in the CDU you can in VC click on it at the top of the windshield. This action will drop the HUD into your field of view. The system powers up automatically. Also there is a configuration panel in the center console for the HUD, which lets you change various parameters. On a side note, please sign your posts with your full name.
  21. I have never done it before but I am pretty sure you can use FRAPS.
  22. I would suggest you search pmdg_ngx_flow_checklist.zip on the AVSIM File Library. It should help with getting the aircraft running.
  23. I was thinking about making a start up video from cold and dark through engine start up. I am not making any promises, but if I were to make it I would probably do it some time in the next week.
  24. The link you posted does not work. It is a mobile link and does not go to a video.
  25. It is very strange because from your first post it would appear everything FS related can't connect. However, you say your internet is fine. Also do you have any third party security software?
