  1. This is a good video of a example flight that shows how to take the best out of this FMS It helped me hope that you as well Clear skies, Jcmmg
  2. By trying to find answers looking into details, I've overlooked the biggest fact stated here. We like to pay for more functionality! NavData + Functionality = Fun NavData + default FMS like = Frustration Frustration + Money = The biggest Carenado disappointment for me. Carenado Airplane + RXP/GTN/ISG = Reasonable Solution Clear skies, Jcmmg
  3. It is very interesting what Izamm just wrote. This is my first carenado since their Cirrus. So it is the first that I own with FMS. After flying a couple of times and getting used to a different FMS, with a different logic and very limited functionality, I might get what this product was trying to do. Perhaps my expectations behind the Carenado navigraph FMS was set by my experience with other addons with FMS like, in my case PMDG J41. Hence my initial frustration. What I don't understand is that if the FMS logic is exactly the same as the one with FSX data on it, why so many complains in terms of functionality?, it has been the same functionality since the original model... By including myself, then it is the first time Carenado is touching a new audience with different approach to the sim, just by adding Navigraph data..... Sadly the group with too much time or that enjoy the methodology on the details of flight planning and execution .... The toughest audience... High risk, yes High development cost, yes I'm going to keep flying, learning Carenado's FMS, and reporting my final thoughts... Clear skies, JCMMG
  4. Hi All To work with the FMC it is frustrating. I manage to set a SID, STAR and arrival, but it took me very long time. So lessons learned: 0) Update your AIRAC, I did it with Navigraph, no problem. 1) Set your departure and arrival airports 2) Once your Departure and Arrival airports are set on page 1 of the FLP page, then press menu and you will get into the Depp and Arr procedure page. Select as shown in the video. 2.1) Ensure that your SID, STAR and Approach are correct. Everytime you change your SID or STAR or Approach it will delete all your route information (fixes and altitudes) 3) Check your SID, STAR and Approach restrictions 4) Once you are 100% sure, with your SID, STAR and Approach, proceed to add your route fixes with altitude. 5) Routes are not supported or I couldn't figure out how to add them. What I've done was to type: J101, -J101, +J101, LFK-J101, J101-JOT, LFK+J101, J101+JOT. Neither of them worked. 5.1) If you realize that you have the wrong STAR at this point, think again, it might be the correct one after all, particularly if you have 20 fixes in your route (Check point 2.1) 6) Fuel your airplane and fly. 7) LNAV: No problem at all. DTO not tested. 8) VNAV: It works nicely, however, the altitude is set on the flight plan fixes, so if the distance between them are too short, expect crazy vertical speeds. It doesn't calculates TOD or TOC., or I didn't know how to set them. 9) VNAV: I couldn't reach FL350, I don't know why, but if is a safety feature because the pressurization system can keep a 10000 ft atmosphere there, then, welcome! 10) The autopilot works well but it is too odd. 11) Flying without autopilot, very nice indeed! FINAL COMMENT: Carenado, I really appreciate your effort on delivering what we asked. This effort can be translated into sales as long as they create more inmersion not frustration! If adding an FMC with NavData is too hard, why not to repeat the success from the past, when you mod your flight decks to accommodate 3rd party addon like RXP integration! However, on this opportunity to preserve the 1980's look of the S550, please use ISG mod from Janek,. Clear skies, Jcmmg
  5. This is my initial report: I really like this segment of aviation, and so far for me the one to beat is the Citation Mustang from Flight1 (bought in 2009, close to 400 hrs logged on FSX) Price: they are very close, so close that I don't think it is arbitrary. PC Performance: They are close as well, but the Carenado Cessna S550 leads on this area. FSX Stability: Carenado S550 looks to be more stable, less susceptible of crashes if you don't use the "Startup Flight". You can jump from other aircrafts without problem. External Model: Both are great looking,Remember that the Mustang is a "vintage" FSX addon, so the S550 has more blink on it (in particular the external lights) Internal Model: Both spot on, I like them. The only small limitation on the Flight1 Mustang is the FS9 like night cockpit lighting, that does not deliver during twilight. Flight Dynamics: Both very stable, from my point of view, both spot on. Systems Model: Both are crippled, the Flight 1 has its advantages as it is unique. Although the G1000 is crippled, It does deliver more functionality than current Carenado's S550. Sounds: Both have room for improvements, but I'm happy with them. My general comments: I love the Flight 1 Mustang and I will keep flying on it, because is unique, there are no VLJ with a detailed G1000 with Navigraph in the market (Hence that is why it is pricey). However, If Carenado can solve current limitations and listen to us the clients, and delivers qualityin terms of functionality, I think that the S550 and the Hawker 850 XP are going to displace the Flight 1 (both jets are faster, beatiful and using the latest Carenado visuals). For now even at sales, the S550 with navigraph it is expensive as it is not a unique plane (it is close but not yet hehehe). Clear skies, Jcmmg
  6. I hope, Carenado can solve current limitations as they are putting on risk their future sales with the Hawker 850 XP. Clear skies, Jcmmg
  7. Agree, I have the same problem after investing on SteveDX10 Fixer, but it is a shame as this is the only aircraft in my hangar and so far is the only issue that I have since switching to DX10 preview...
  8. Great shots!!! Looking forward to it! Clear skies! Julio M
  9. I can't agree more! Hope Carenado will take some actions!! BTW: I think is worth to send them an email directly, using their website!
  10. Hi all, I read somewhere that Carenado manage to develop the route planning from their G1000. I hope Carenado can let the Flight planning enable or as an option, to evaluate how it works so we can judge our-self how much hassle does it represent... but.... After 2 years of writing this post (http://www.simforums.com/Forums/reality-xp-3d-mask-addons_topic38350_post225137.html?KW=#225137) things have change on a very positive way, we all got nice planes with RXP functionality directly from the Virtual Cockpit... Thanks Carenado and RXP I now wonder if, in the case G1000, developers can be achieved some support to each other to achieve the same result, using Carenado (because of this forum) and for example Mindstar to work together on a full integrated virtual cockpit G1000. I recon that on this case the challenges are massive but, as a client why not to ask..... I would like to know your ideas, Cheers, jcmmg
  11. Thumbs up for me as well.... have you realize that 100% of the bugs are cockpit related, but the flight dynamics are from my point of view perfect! Thanks for that Carenado!

    RXP530

Thanks for such a valuable information!
  13. The lack of RXP is making a big difference for me, a bit of disappointment as well, maybe was because my grate expectations.... I'll wait until the SP comes out, hopefully it will be a Full Integration like they did on previous projects and not 2D sticker...
  14. Thanks all for your response! Its been very positive!
  15. Thanks Alan, your clue was the solution!! Also I've found on Simforum a replacement for the problematic module, so here is the link for further references! http://www.simforums.com/forums/audio-environment-helicopters-and-fsdreamteam_topic34818.html
  16. Hi Alain Thanks for your replay, yes I have Audio Environment, wich is great when it works! I didn't know about this problem, I'm going to google it to see if I find the solution. Thanks all for your reply
  17. Hi guys I'm looking to replace my Saitek throttle quadrant after getting frustrated about the spikes and the lack of feeling. I'm looking for a good set of throttles that are compatible with PMDG products. I've purchased Elite Throttle Quadrant but it is not compatible with your airplanes, and many other addons on FSX, they only work for default FSX and some payware.... So before making a purchase, on this opportunity I would like to ask you about my options. Which throttle do you have that works with PMDG (No Saitek, No CH and No Goflight)? I was thinking about PFC, do they are compatible? Do they have a true feeling?
  18. Hi allToday I'm appealing to your knowledge as I'm struggling to find a solution. The problems is that every helicopter, default or payware, turbine or piston are experiencing CTDs after some minutes of flying (2 or 10, practically random) and I don't know which the problem is. On the other hand I don't have problems with any other aircraft on FSX as they are working perfectly. I've tried to use FSX repair function but the problem persists. I hope I could find a solution. My specs: MoBo: Asus P5Q Pro|Processor: Intel E8500 OC 4.2 GHz|Memory: 4 GB Kingston HyperX 1066|BFG Nvidia 9800 GTX + O|SB X-Fi Xtreme Music|FSX Pro + Acc (SP all)|WIN7 64 Thanks Jcmmg
  19. Hi allAfter reading some posts regarding some erratic behaviour on Throttle, Prop and Mixtures: I've decided to share my experience with you guys....O bought the B58 the same day as it was released and I didn't have a nice experience (you can find them on some post here) BUT at the same time I got the chance to test some hardware including Saitek (which I own from some time) and Elite Simulations throttle quadrant>I have to say that all the problems associated with throttle looks like are related to Saitek, for some reason that I don't understand a well calibrated, refine and clean Saitek induce problems on this particular Carenado addon, with the Elite hardware this is a complete different product (for better!!!)Hope that this could help you guysBest wishes,Julio
  20. Hi Ricky76Yes I've experienced that problem before, but I think is not Carenado's fault (it can happened to default planes as well). I think it is related to Saitek plugin (I'm not a expert, is just my experience and I don't have technical details to validate my observations). For me, the error is triggered when I use Ctrl-E to start the engines on a different plane (not supported by Saitek) and then during the same FSX session I try to use the Saitek Panel. The way around for me is not to use Ctrl-E and if for some reason I have to use it, after flying I launch the Saitek plugin manually. So far this works for me.Remember also to check periodically Saitek's drivers update.Clear skies,Jcmmg
  21. I won’t use any RXP Unlimited until I get a 3D mask for Carenado aircrafts. Personally I like the 3D gauges and they get spoiled once you add a 150$ 2D image to them!
  22. Hi allToday I got this question, did a fast Google search and I wonder if there is a piece of software that can graphically represent the joystick assignments that are set in FSX?Something like the HOTAS Cougar used to have within its software perhaps!?The reason is that there are many interface, hardware, joysticks, HOTAS, yokes, etc that you can plug to FSX, assign some keys from FSX (I am not speaking about fancy developers that want to complicate our life by setting non standard assignments!) and save this standard profiles and shown them as a picture of our hardware for easy reference!?How difficult can it be...!???Plug the device, then assign the keys from FSX settings, then use the software to save it (Graphically!!!) and finally if you want to change it use the same generic software to load a new profile and enjoy!! I’m going leave this idea in this forum and others, so if someone got the expertise, the time, willing to share it or sell it can take from here!BTW: FSUIPC does something similar may be better, BUT is a software from the last millennium, is not easy to manipulate it, it is time to have something much better... Hope I could do an inception of this idea!! Hahahahaha Julio
  23. Thanks Paul!I reckon that I have to improve my planning! But at the same time is good to have some improvisations from time to time! hahahaha!Best wishes,Julio Monsalve
  24. Hi allYesterday I was flying into LFPG and follow a runway change (due to wind change), I got in the FMC that the new STAR and APR were not linked, after some point I will need to follow some vectors. (I use default ATC VFR when I'm following complex flight plans...)My lack of preparation kicks off by the following events:-It was a night flight with limited visibility but plenty of fuel (45 minutes! hahaha)-After finishing the STAR, the FMC change the speed, altitude and heading to my previous waypoint or whatever (messing up my entire landing configuration) I didn’t expected that at all!-Panic for a couple of seconds, then think, then all to manual-Next step I’ve activated the autopilot but using HDG, Altitude and speed knobs by using manual inputs (neither LNAV nor VNAV).-Finally I vector myself to the final approach, LOC then Glide then Autoland and successfully landed! So my questions are:On these cases what do I have to do?How can eliminate the alarm from the FMC that is telling me that I need to climb or I am in the wrong altitude? How can I resume my FMC flight plan after the Vectoring phase?Sorry to bother with this basic questions and I appreciate your participation! Thanks in advanceJulio Monsalve
