  1. I have had problems in the past with FS9 where you enter a route in the FMC and it causes FS to crash. Could be a waypoint is corrupt in your nav database. When it crashes are you using the same route? Craig
  2. Thanks Cheryl. Very helpful. Craig
  3. Hi all Have been looking at OPUS and I am not sure what exactly the live camera is or how it works in conjunction with TrackIR. Can someone explain it to me please? Thanks Craig
  4. For me is it is Qantas. One time I was flying from HK to SY in economy. By the time the dinner service got to me all they had left was fish. I said I don't eat fish and the FA said ahh ok. Hang on, I will see what I can do. It took a while but he came back with a business class steak dish. Also, I really like the fact that the FA read your name on the boarding card when boarding and welcome you aboard by name. Just feels more personal. Worst international flight I have ever had was on Continental back in the days when they used to fly PPT-AKL-SYD (1988). The cabin service was like it was comedy hour in the sky. Service was pathetic!!!! Craig
  5. Nice intro to pressurisation Ro. Question though. On airbus aircraft, in the doors there is an indicator to say the cabin is still pressurised and so don't open the doors. Is it normal after landing for there to be a pressure differential between the cabin and the outside? Or is it a case where the valves have stuck and the cabin altitude is stuck above the ground?
  6. It is not unsualy to have high rates and ascent and descent. It all depands on aircraft weight and set thrust. So an initial descent rate for a B744 from FL380 of 6800fpm is generally quite common. As for the pressurisation, if the cabin altitude is 10000, then the cabin will maintain that altitude until the aircraft reaches 10000 and the cabin will reduce altitude at the same rate as the aircraft, This is the reason why passengers have ear problems when the aircraft is at lower altitudes.
  7. I guess there are weight savings in not having the doors and due to the shape of the tyres and amount that sticks out into the airflow, the amount of drag would be negligible. Thanks for the additional information Yoda. Rgds Craig
  8. Thanks Trevor and Stans. I looked at the Beechcraft website and all the pics show complete retraction of the main wheels. Learn something new everyday
  9. Textures look great but the one thing that caught my eye is that the main wheels don't retract completely into the nacelle and covered by gear doors. Instead the wheels are protruding out of the nacelle. Craig
  10. I don't need to listen to ATC because I know the game. Removing the speed restriction below 10 is not unusual but it is entirely related to traffic and the route. I know the only aircraft in reality to be given special handling was the an aircraft with the Queen. Concorde was from my knowledge speed restricted was for arrival not departure. Concorde was so special, it had its own flex routes across the atlantic
  11. Concorde was dealt with as a special aircraft essentially due to its fuel state.
  12. I just explained why. By restricting traffic to a specified speed you can actually increase the number of aircraft that can be handled in a specified piece of airspace. I don't know your background scandinavian13 but your post is crap
  13. One of the reasons for the 250 below 10 is that you can increase the volume of traffic in the terminal area because the traffic is limited to a speed. 10000 is a good alt because the aircraft will have travelled a reasonable distance from the airfield. aentwis I can tell you now that saying you cant fly at 250 kts clean will not give you a clearance to disregard the restriction unless traffic permits. Craig
  14. When the weight necessitates a clean speed greater then 250 KIAS, it is not unusual to leave the flaps extended until above 10000 and then retract when the speed has increased above the minimum clean speed. Craig
  15. General question to those who have addon. Are the reverse thrust buckets on the engines animated? Not seen it on any vids or on the Coolsky description of functionality. Craig
  16. I saw that. I think they said 15 or so different languages. Not seen that before. Craig
  17. Well you could start by saying something sensible.
  18. Well your latest response is just as silly as all your other posts on here and the aerosoft forum. Not sure of the relevance of Mururoa but it fits with the rest of your nonesense. Craig
  19. 'For a novacastrian???' Bit of a meaningless statement matey Craig
  20. Aerosoft have been upfront about what functionality was to be in the initial release. I am not telling you to buy anything. You make your own choices sunshine. But a bit of research would have provided you with some answers. Craig
  21. pao You are what we call a sook. Functionality that was earmarked for SP1 will now be in the initial release. That has to be good for the customer. Why don't you take your business elsewhere? Craig vadriver If you bothered to read the Aerosoft preview forum you would know exactly why there has been a delay. The FPA/TRK functionality was earkmarked tfor SP1. The delay caused by rewriting some code has enabled additional functionality to be included in the initial release. Craig
  22. Deviation. Thats the term not declination. Thanks Mike. Sorry jcomm, I got the terms mixed up :( Rgds Craig
  23. ahh ok. In aviation I thought that declination was the difference between real magnetic heading and the magnetic heading of the compass due to electrical and airframe interference. This is why we do compass swings
