  1. I agree! Its becoming increasingly popular with all 737s around Europe and North America. I know it saves on fuel burns etc, but id be satisfied with a pure visual addition regardless. In the mean time ill be patiently waiting... Cheers,
  2. NL2000 has photo real coverage of all of The Netherlands. All this is FREEWARE by the way. Also if you scroll down far enough you will get to the english speaking forums.
  3. I wish PMDG would consider adding the scimitar winglet as an option (purely visual). Nice pics though, ive been doing a couple flights with Sunwing also. Just make sure to start flying around Europe when the winter season in Canada ends haha!
  4. FS 98 on my fathers laptop flying out of Meigs when i was very young. Now I am a real life pilot and i feel FS and in turn the countless of hours i spent taking off Meigs and flying to Midway and Ohare, helped me fuel my passion for aviation. Ahhh, memories indeed!
  5. NL2000, is a complete freeware scenery of ALL of the Netherlands. Includes airports too.
  6. I think NL2000 is one of the most under appreciated freeware sceneries of FSX. They did an excellent job, nice pictures!
  7. Very excited, and Orbx is making their 100th airport, Parry Sound! Finally some lovin for Ontario!
  8. Haha I work for a company that flies a Merlin.... Id have to get permission by my chief pilot if Im able to share our companies AFM/Perf charts etc, but if you ever decide to pursue this just give me a PM.
  9. Have you guys considered a Metro II/III? Your Garret engine modelling is great. Razbams efforts fell short in my opinion (especially in the power plant department). I'd love to see one from you guys!
  10. When i was in college, our teacher was an Air Canada pilot. He let us fly the Embrear 190 Level D sim that AC uses to train their pilots on. It was super fun. He let us Take Off outa YYZ then buzz the CN tower. He then gave us an engine fire emergency and walked us through that aswell. Finishing off with an ILS back into CYYZ. I flew it all manual, no auto throttles and did a decent job (i was happy with it). Hope you have a blast, it is definitely a cool experience.
  11. I hear ya! I was kinda hoping orbx would just make their way East over Continental North America. They seem to be randomly making FTX regions now with Norway just being released. And they seem to be going away from FTX regions with the Europe open LC product line.
  12. Very excited! YYZ has been neglected for year and there is no one better to make it than Flytampa. Orbx should make a FTX region for southern ontario spanning from Kingston to Windsor up north to Parry Sound area. That would be unreal. Flying around Ontario offers a vast amount of scenery from the flat fields around windsor to the escarpment by burlington and the many lakes and beautiful scenery in the Muskokas and Tobermory area. Yep! Looking forward to this release!
  13. With the money some people spend on this hobby, they could have almost bought themselves a Private Pilots License!
  14. My top add-on aircraft would be the following: PMDG NGX- worlds most popular commercial airliner finally modelled to top notch standards A2A C172- Although i have a little less than 200 hrs on the S and N model in RL, A2A captures the C172 very well. Majestic Q400- i think every addon developer should be taking serious notes on how they made their flight dynamic, i think its the closest add-on that captures the real feeling of flying. I am eagerly waiting for their Dash 8-300, i jumpseat it regularly and would love to fly it in FSX. Aerosoft Twin Otter- I used this to help get myself familiar with system/cockpit procedures when i was training on it in RL. Very well done aside from the ground friction bug. Flight1 Kingair 200 - Best kingair done to date, i just wish they made a non G1000 version (i havent checked out Milvis's B350, but looks promising) Flysimware C441- Now i havent purchased this aircraft but from the videos ive seen these guys modelled a Garret engine perfectly, i just wish they would step up their textures a bit more. To each their own! Cheers,
  15. Id like to see just a visual update also. Ive been seeing them quite a bit around Toronto, with Sunwing and Westjet flying them now. Would love to see them on the NGX.
  16. Go with the David Clarkes, hands down the best bang for your buck.
  17. Ive got roughly 200 hours in a C172 and id say A2A FDE is fairly decent. I think the number one problem with FSX/P3D etc is the way a plane flies through the air. The outside turbulence effecting a plane on different days. A bumpy day to a smooth one (particularly during sunrise/sunset), or a windy day to a clam day. I have heard Xplane is better for that but i dont own that product.
  18. As do I !!! Every single pilot does it for the love of flying because otherwise lets face it, why become a pilot? I just wrote it as a sly remark to todays aviation industry in North America. It just came out as a poorly written and misinterpreted joke and nothing else....
  19. I didnt really mean what i said to be taken THAT seriously but then again sarcasm is usually lost through the keyboard.... But yes Im speaking from my own experience as a pilot working in Canada ( thank god). And while it may not be as bad as in the US (that right seat ATPL rule is total BS) it still is nothing to brag about. I could go on about the entry level aviation industry in the US and Canada but i dont want to hijack this topic...
  20. Approach at about 60-70 knots and as you are about 10 ft above the runway cut the power to idle level off and look at the end of the runway or horizon. Flare and ride the stall horn until you touchdown. I normally only put about 20 degrees of flaps unless I'm landing at a short runway.
  21. Haha sorry, you're right. Just thought id be a sarcastic debby downer as Im currently in the ramp stages of my aviation career... but lets stay on topic! I agree and would love a Gulfstream product. I think flightsim is just now catching up on quality corporate jets. Too bad Gulfstream has such strict copyright rules.
  22. You mean crippling debt and years of training only to work as an instructor for years to gain "experience" and then work your way up to fly a decently large airplane, only to make around 30k a year doesnt sound fun???
  23. nice pictures! This brings back memories as i did my 300 nm trip from Kitchener to Elliot lake, Wawa the Sault, back in my training days.
  24. Its still a dream of mine to fly these. Ive flown on them as a passenger but to pilot this beautiful bird would be awesome! Im sad to see the last commercial flight go, I think KLM will still be flying them throughout November but as farewell flights and are all sold out...
