  1. Excellent program, Roland! This just struck me: Since you're controlling the AI directly, do you think it is possible to make AI land on sloped runways? This is a limitation in FSX and P3D that I really wish we could find a solution/workaround for. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next version. Keep up the great work.
  2. Wow, this has been annoying me for a long time, but Glynn's solution works! I did not know about this. Very nice! You should write a post in the P3D Tips and Tricks subforum about this. Thanks, Glynn!
  3. Just want to report back that I tried downloading part 9 again now, and it worked! It was a different computer, but still using Chrome, so I don't know if Vimeo did something or if it was a problem with the laptop I used before. Anyway, now I have all parts backed up.
  4. What browser and download manager are you using, Peter? I have tried Chrome and Internet Explorer. With IE I can use Getright, but it is still not working. With Getright I can get to 1,1 GB before it stops, and any attempts to resume gives me a 403=Forbidden error.
  5. I am having the same problem. All the other files downloaded without a problem, but I haven't managed to download more than 900 MB of part 9 before it stops. It's really annoying and a bit strange since part 10 is just as big but downloaded just fine. Jan, please let us know if you get an answer from Vimeo.
  6. It works great. I have it installed on a 2nd computer and use the networked configuration with WideFS. The only extra thing I needed to do, was to put a file called "fsx.exe" in the main P3Dv2 folder for when I wanted to import aircraft into Air Hauler.
  7. Try adding AffinityMask to your cfg. It did the trick for me. I am using [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 This is for a quad core processor with HT turned off.
  8. This wasn't really about fps, but fixing an issue with blurry textures and popping autogen. But since you ask, I was flying the Carenado A36 over Norway (around Oslo Gardermoen, ENGM) with all the Norwegian freeware, FTXG, default cloud textures and default weather. There is now another solution for the blurry textures and popping autogen (courtesy of Jean-Paul (jpmes) over in the Prepar3D forum). The solution was to add the affinity mask setting in the config file. So now I can limit my fps to about 30 fps or use unlimited without getting blurry textures. I still haven't decided what is smoothest though.
  9. I had really bad blurry ground textures and autogen popping (despite having an i7 2600k @4.8Ghz, 16GB of RAM @2400Mhz, a GTX780Ti and P3D2 on a fast SSD), but after reading a post by le-alex on the Prepar3D forum about setting the fps to unlimited, it got sorted out. Now I have sharp ground textures and no popping autogen. So if you're experiencing any of these issues, try setting your fps to unlimited. My frame rate controls are now set up like this: VSync on, Triple buffering ticked and target frame rate at unlimited. I now get a steady 60 fps and nice textures and autogen.
  10. Regarding FSUIPC, it's only the GUI that is not working, but you can edit the configuration file (FSUIPC4.ini) in the Modules folder, and it works. And if you have FSX or P3D 1.4 installed, you can just copy the configuration file from there. I'm sure Pete Dowson will get it fixed as soon as he gets back from his holiday in a few days.
  11. I tried the ballast light-thing, but it does not work, so I have resorted to disabling "DX10 Compatible Lights and Effects". This gives me back the nice ai strobe lights, but of course reintroduces the problem with the blinking street lights in ORBX regions. But the FTX Global lights still work great, so I just stay away from the ORBX regions (at least during night time). I hope this can be looked into and fixed (if possible), though.
  12. I have noticed the same thing. I also use UT2 and I have enabled A2A's Shockwave lights on all my AI, and in DX9 they are very bright and can be seen from very far away. Btw, really enjoying the sim with the fixer. Great job, Steve.
  13. No worries, glad it helped. I have also not experienced any CTD after uninstalling that update.
  14. I have been having the same problem (d3d11.dll crashes), and I came across this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/7670/discussions/0/828934913244739166 I have uninstalled windows update KB2670838 and doing a flight to check now, and so far it looks good. Before I would crash more or less at the same point every test flight, but now I have passed it a long time ago. I am also using SweetFX btw and still have it enabled. Maybe worth a shot?
  15. Thanks for the HU. This caught my attention: "We're excited about the future of Prepar3D's new rendering capability and are eager to be able to release it to the community in 2013." Looking forward to it.
  16. I have also pre-ordered it. It looks really nice. One question: Will you make the paintkit available before the release? Looking forward to fly it.
  17. Another quote from Venema in the Papua New Guinea thread: We will in fact create a whole new front end app for FTX Global which will: - Make FTX Central redundant, you can keep all Orbx regions active at once - Choose which tree and autogen set to use (we will see if we can code a DLL to do this dynamically for you) - Automatically check for patches, SP1, updates for all Orbx installed products when connected to to the internet, then let you choose which to download - Control the 3D lights on/off, links to Aero and the Lights Tweaker At least, this is my wish-list We need to plan how to implement this and then I need to hire a coder to write the app. I want FTX Global to act as the overriding front end to Orbx which manages everything for you. That means if you purchase an older region off DVD which still uses FTX Central, when you run the FTX Global app it will automatically "detect" a new region has been installed and ensure the corrected files are put into place so all regions can remain active at once. Basically if you use the FTX Global app to launch FSX you can always be assured all your Orbx products are up to date and all regions remain active at once.
  18. Check out FSBreak 118. The REX guys talk about REX Latitude. It looks really interesting.
