  1. What exactly has changed when trying to register anyway? I just know you had to register normally (like every other account on the internet in this world) then they changed it to having to post in some thread.
  2. Never saw that thread. Do you think he still cops ANY criticism on the chin?
  3. +1 Nothing against anyone enjoying the ORBX circus but this makes for a read if anyone hasn't read it. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/360346-my-first-forum-%E2%80%9Cbanned%E2%80%9D-orbx/
  4. I fly for a couple and I have to say I've also been through a few VAs as I try to find some other good ones. That being said one thing I don't like is the VA Financials and other programs like it. I rather the time be spent into the actual operations of flights rather than tell me how much fuel its going to cost me to fly and how much I'm going to get paid. I haven't looked but unless what I earn buys me something real, again the financial part isn't my type. So, the VAs I'm most active in obviously don't do that. I fly for BAW Virtual like some people here do and that is probably one of the most popular VAs out there now and has been for a while. They provide realism but are also laid back and not as serious as others. If you like the 737 a good one is Southwest virtual. They keep all of their schedules up to date and basically cover the whole of the US. The one I'm flying for a lot now is Air Canada Virtual. I think it is by far the most realistic and I have leaned a lot through flying with them. It always helps a VA if there are people who fly for the real airline and are running things or helping. At ACA virtual they have created their own dispatch sheets which work and look just like the real world ACA dispatch sheets but you can edit your route if you need to and the dispatch sheet calculates for that and any other changes you have. They have also created a realistic trip system. You can pick the hub you want to fly out of, how many days you want to be away for select the aircraft and it will generate realistic trips. Anything from 5-6 flights a day in a Q400 or CRJ to 1-2 in a 777 or 767.
  5. I think Brisbane may be better on frames but it is more of a memory hog. I have way more OOMs flying in and out of Brisbane than Melbourne. You could try out the freeware Tasmania region with Launceston free as well.
  6. Haven't shown any interest in FTX Global what so ever so I can't comment on that part. That being said the Australian terrain has been out for a long time and I guess it lags behind the NA regions out there. However since its probably the only one ever going to be available for Australia I would go ahead and get it. The stupid thing is you need ORBX regions for the airports to work 100%. Never really tried the big airports out without the regions (then again its not like you can just uninstall ORBX). I still think that at least my part of the country looks nice compared to FSX default with the ORBX terrain and airports. I don't really fly within Australia that much (funnily enough) but the big airports make for good short and long hops. Stay away from Brisbane unless you have an uber computer, the place is FPS heavy even in default scenery and the ORBX airport doesn't help. Apart from that everywhere else is fine, don't forget as well that Aerosoft will be releasing Adelaide and FlyTampa are working on Sydney.
  7. Considering the 777 is an extra $200 million more than the 737, you can't complain about a $20 increase by PMDG.
  8. Can't wait for an Emirates paint.
  9. Its up to whoever you bought it from. If it was FSS I doubt it, however I know some people that have gotten ORBX refunds from them.
  10. That's what the QXE pilots and FAs called it.
  11. Awesome. Thanks Nick. Aside from Shrek and Skittles, do you think you will be able to do some college liveries?
  12. Ahhhhh. Its always entertaining to read that something like this has happened again. You better hope they don't read this, if they were given an inch by the avsim admins, they would try and ban you here as well, anything to stop you talking bad about them (their little hearts just can't bear the criticism). These are the people that you need 'picture proof' for, they ban you, they say its your fault (like always), they then pretend it never happened. I've found that a few of the ORBX admins have a little bit of the keyboard warrior within. They'd run all over anyone they could behind their computer but runaway in real life. One more thing, I've only just wondered why now, why is ORBX so special to have that fancy little registration thing? I've only ever seen it with them and to be honest (though they may think they are) they are not the biggest forum going around(ego-wise maybe). Not sure what its preventing but it didn't stop me from making a fake account.
  13. Basically for me its the Horizon Air paints, love them all. However anyone who might not know N425QX (25th Anniversary paint) was scrapped last year and sent to WestJet for training but its still a great paint to have.
  14. Kinda agree with Akila. Over 400 -200ER and only 50 -200LR. Though any of the T7's is good for me. Probably the same with the NGX release, just have the PMDG colors installed and have the other liveries on their website and seeing there is only 10 -200LR operators I'd say most of them will be ready upon release.
  15. It just came to me now as I was re-reading Rob's post for something else but..........I have heard of a few people, and know a couple of them that have tried using the NGX in multiplayer and with a bit of tweaking have succeeded. Now I now that it can get legal (sad for a hobby) and you probably want to take a hard look at the EULA before doing anything like this, but why can't PMDG simply invite eager flight simmers with creations like this instead of covering up their time and effort and claiming it as their own?
  16. No no no. Mr Tity Baby said there would be no more sale so this one is "a price reduction for a temporary amount of time", not a sale in any way shape and/or form.
  17. Over 20.780 sq km of FTX scenery!Wait a minute........20 square km for $40.95?
  18. Yes I think I found that noticeable along with the engine rotation pointed out.
  19. So long as you have a right amount of runway distance taking off without flaps sometimes isn't a problem. The flaps allow the aircraft wings to create more lift at a lower speed so your bound to notice higher V-speeds if you use no flaps compared to flaps 1 or 5. I tested out a no flaps landing the other week in Geneva and everything thing was normal aside from the high Vapp and Vref speeds.
  20. What about the refuel option like the MD-11? Thanks for the update anyways.
  21. Just remember some airlines have fixed cost indexes and some don't. Off the top of my head Air Canada and Alaska Airlines get their cost index from dispatch and it depends on a few factors.
