SU15 beta in VR

If you are talking frametime variance show the variances piechart. -
SU15 beta in VR
redshift27 replied to Spit40's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
On an ageing system (RTX3080, 12700F, Rift S) SU15 has not managed to transfer the improvement in 2D performance to VR. I still have very uneven frametimes, microstutter, in VR. Still experimenting. Disappointed. -
Look at the frametime (variances) piechart rather than the stuttering piechart to understand microstutter better.

FlightAware Live Surface Movement Beta
redshift27 replied to jwhak's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Is it though? Seems like all they have done is carved away anything on the ground into a separate interface that they will no doubt package and sell separately. Compare to what you see on FR24 and I think there is little difference. -

Prepar3D V6 hangs at startup before Splash

I reckon you have a P3dv6 window open somewhere awaiting input that is off-screen or very nearly so. -

DC Designs Concorde on sale.
redshift27 replied to Scimiter's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Of course there has been plenty of discussion on the DC Concorde, as well as interaction with the developer. It is just that it has taken place on their Discord. Be aware of bubbles, especially deflating ones. -
This is hardly the appropriate place to debate the pros and cons of XP12, but I find your comment "simply no developer support for the product whatsoever as far as I can tell" quite baffling. Toliss have very professional A319, A321 and A340 models. Flightfactor have converted the B757, B767, A320 and A350. SSG have converted the B747-8. There is a Flightfactor B777 inbound. And XP12 has not even been properly released yet!

DLSS: More ways to fine-tune performance
redshift27 replied to RobJC's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Why no mention of the DLAA option? All the niceness of DL anti-aliasing without any of the scaling nonsense. (Needs DX12 and SU11). -
Sim Update 11 beta will begin October 12
redshift27 replied to Cpt_Piett's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It is FSR2 and not FSR, it works on any video card, and you will only see it if you switch to DX12 -
More stupid gusts, this time on final
redshift27 replied to rondon9898's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Randazzo of PMDG in his latest status update: "Some of these fixes are things that we were working on during the MSFS SU10 beta period in order to improve stability of of control-related functions such as pitch, yaw, roll and thrust. The MSFS environment is significantly more dynamic than the real world environment- and this creates some interesting engineering challenges in order to ensure that the airplane flies properly. " -
v5.1 VR performance tips?
redshift27 replied to andreh's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) Hardware and Games
Use Steam VR latest Beta. Turn on Dynamic Texture Loading. Limit frame rate in P3D to 28 and set OTT to 30fps, set NCP to pre-rendered VR frames=3, vSync=FAST, and once you are in the plane and running, start Task Manager and in Details -> Prepar3d.exe -> Affinity switch off CPU 0, press OK, then switch it back on again to unstick any maxed-out load on the first core and allow proper rebalancing across all cores. Turn Autogen Buildings / Trees and Scenery Complexity right down and see how smooth you can get it. It should be like butter. Then start cranking them up step by step until you hit whatever limit your scenery allows. Once you overdo it you will start stuttering.
