  1. My sim just CTD when I try to make a manual cache. I'm allowing 30GB, for a relatively small area. Is that not enough? Is that why it's crashing? Tried three times now.
  2. Thanks Ryan, did as instructed above, and no more problems. ALL my Carenado planes work like a charm. As for the WACO swinging to one side, and becoming uncontrollable, watch real world tutorials on taildraggers, it really helps understand what’s going on. And don’t forget, nearly every takeoff and landing you do, there’s a crosswind component to consider. The plane will naturally swing to the left, so right rudder is needed on takeoff. Getting that right takes practice. To aid this, a right crosswind is better than a left crosswind. Simply do some research, and learn how taildraggers fly, it has really helped me.
  3. Just noticed my sig is out of date, I've upgraded to a 1080ti, might make a difference if somebody's specs are a bit low maybe? Edit: Now corrected. Specs in sig.
  4. I've been using all their panels since the Logitech drivers came out. The only problem I have is with Multi Panel not incrementing heading, course or altitude by single digits since I got the Alpha. The Radio panels work flawlessly, I have two. The DME function is very handy 😉
  5. I'm not getting any CDT's with the Mooney. I was flying it yesterday for a few hours, and she was flying beautifully. Maybe it's a combination of the plane and settings maybe? Although I haven't noticed this plane to be any more demanding fps wise than any other.
  6. Okay, a quick update on the Waco HSI issue: It turns out my HSI is NOT broken after all. The VOR I was turning into 110.50 was in fact an ILS frequency, whereby the "needle" will always be split from a distance and won't line up of course unless you are aligned with the runway. Once I tuned in to an actual VOR (with DME), I was able to select a radial to fly, and did perfectly all the way to the VOR. Southampton 113.35 from the Isle Of Wight. So in conclusion, The HSI is NOT broken after the update. Unlike the Seminole, which wont even turn in the cockpit. I hope this can help some of you who are having problems.
  7. I find it very much improved too, but my HSI IS NOT broken after the update. The Seminole IS broken though. Which is a shame really. I now find this plane very easy to control on the ground, and is a joy to fly. Currently my favourite plane for GA.
  8. Turning off the "Dynamic Texture Streaming" worked for me, so thanks for the tip. I agree that it is an ORBX issue though, was noticing it at a lot of their airports.
  9. No problems here yet. Doubled my fps easy, can turn up some settings now. Did 7 hours or so of flying the L049 not a single problem. ORBX Australia from east to west. Will do do some GA flying tomorrow and see how that goes.
  10. To be perfectly honest Bert, I didn't KNOW it was a new release. Some old friends got in touch, and I just bought it on impulse thinking it was a "Mature" version of the P3D that started back when I was on FSX. I got all my scenery re-downloaded, and replaced my most precious planes within a couple of days, so I'm now invested I suppose. I guess I just need to ride out the storm, but I'm so bloody frustrated right now, I've crashed into nothing three times today.
  11. I personally don't think any software is bug free either, one can expect visual bugs that's a given. But to have stuff just not work properly in the core is just not right. It's a flight sim. You should be able to take off, fly and land without crashing into stuff you can't even see. That's basic surely? @ w6kd Yeah I just noticed I hadn't changed my sig from back then lol. Well that's what I used to run FSX on 30fps IF I was lucky.
  12. I agree with with NightOfDreams, being from the same cloth. Many years in FSX, including all the heartache, tears, and frustrations. I don't think it's unreasonable in this day an' age to expect things to have gotten better. Trust me when I say they haven't. You all think P3D v5 "looks good"? Meh, not really. My FSX from 9 years ago looked better with LESS processing power, and a far inferior graphics card. To me it's exactly the same. The default scenery is as crappy today as it was in 2009. Thank God for addon scenery I say. As for the included Aircraft, where are they? It's all military practically. Is this a Flight sim, or another war game? And don't get me started on the bugs! There is hardware that's been on the market for years (I've got all the panels), and they can't make it work straight out the box? Really? All that research into "Where", "How high", and "What's at" airports, but they can't get the sim to read a bloody flight panel with switches? It's as if I've gone back in time, and I for one do NOT want to be back there thank you very much. Now I have some decisions to make. So if you'll excuse me. Edit: Just looked at my OLD sig, man was that all I had back then 😄
  13. For what it's worth, and that's because I've only just recently come back into flight simming after several years not flying, installing the Phenom for me was quite easy. I did a registry hack I found on a youtube video. The guy explained how to edit the registry to "fool" the installers into thinking it was installing into the P3D v4 location, but it was really installing into the P3D v5 folders. The video was for installing a PMDG NGXu into v5 I believe. Now to why I'm actually wring this post: I'm very disappointed in this plane for v5, it's obviously not fully compatible yet, as not all my functions work in the VC, namely the auto pilot. I can do everything except engage it. Then there's the SVS addon, THAT don't work either. I keep getting the TERR ERR in the MFD, and not one function of that extra works. (Waste of money that was). Today I upgraded to the Navigraph Expansion pack, only to find out I can't actually "Load" a flight plan as in PLN file I made earlier. What is all THAT about Carenado? So basically if I run the same flight five days a week, I have to MANUALLY input the same flight plan in every time? Screw that. This plane will stay in the hanger until such time where everything works. Or I'll just sell it for scrap if the scrap man comes first 😉 All in all, I'm not having a very good experience with P3D v5. It was quite a bit of money for what I'd call an Alpha version of something not ready for final release. It takes me back to my FSX days, where nothing was going right, and the reason I gave it all up back then. Again, NOTHING works, my Saitek panels, nope, my scenery, nope the planes, well some do work thankfully. I don't think I'll be buying another Carenado plane though, sorry.
  14. Wow, that looks really nice in there. Haven't got the Phenom, but I have got the 750. It's an awesome GPS unit, and goes great in that cockpit. Looks like you have full functionality in those pictures too. Nice one. I wonder if that could be done in other aircraft with that huge screen in there.
  15. I was wondering the same thing, but it sure looks like it. It's the one thing that is preventing me from getting the new version. Why should I have to pay to use a product that actually takes away something else I paid for? Don't make sense to me.
