ASN upgrade from AS2012
Tigerclaw replied to Gerabus's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI was wondering the same thing, but it sure looks like it. It's the one thing that is preventing me from getting the new version. Why should I have to pay to use a product that actually takes away something else I paid for? Don't make sense to me.

Help With FMC/Flight Plans
I found "Flight Sim Commander" a useful source of information for finding the correct SID's and STAR's to use, and also the Jet Airways too. I haven't mastered it yet, but I'm getting there. I'm trying to "plan" my departure, choose the airways, and select my arrivals and approaches in FSC. Then I put that data manually into the FMC. As posted, finding the correct "names" in the FMC can be a bit tricky, but there's usually clues in the transition names somewhere. I too will have a look at the sites posted, maybe they will help. Thanks

Boxes/dashes on the RTE page.
I think it's because the dashed prompts data can come from other pages in the FMC, but the box prompts actually come from your head, and are not available until you "tell" the FMC. That's my interpretation anyway.

737 NGX with Saitek Stuff
I've bought THREE addons lately, and one of them was giving me throttle issues. I can't remember which one, but that doesn't matter for now. I ended up deleting the axis assignments in FSX control tab, but not disabling the controllers. (Disabling the controllers caused certain mouse functions to stop working, so deleting seemed the next best thing). Then I went through the painful process of assigning every axis through FSUIPC, taking care not to have any conflicts (hence deleting the assignments in FSX). Once completed, the problems I had were gone, and all three addons work perfectly regarding controls. I took my time, calibrated everything through FSUIPC, and now I'm happy with the way it all works. My PC specs and hardware are in my sig (I think), but I'm using the Saitek Yoke, and TWO throttle quadrants. That gives me SIX axis as follows: Throttles 1,2,3,4 and one Prop lever, and one Mixture lever. Obviously I had assign each lever to the separate engines, but assigning one lever to throttle will work fine.

Airways Not in Data Base
Stupid question I know, but I don't want to corrupt anything. I already have upto date databases (or I should say "nearly" upto date as they are a month or so behind) They are for other "products" but can they be used for NGX 737? If so what exactly do I do with them? I don't really want to "duplicate" the same data in several folders, so how do I go about installing the data for the NGX? Thanks in advance.

Orbx should warn us.
Mmmm That's a thought. Didn't know it was on. Definitely might be a possibility, I'll have to charge some batteries for my camera then lol.

Orbx should warn us.
I'm afraid Ron is NOT alone in this "issue". I recently purchased a new rig, and consequently had to reinstall everything. My first problem was the fact that something happened to my backup drive and I lost the lot. After a month of re-downloading everything, (and even purchasing FTX AU 4.0, when I didn't need to because I had 3.0 on DVD) I finally got around to installing everything. I thought I had done a pretty good job, and in double quick time really. It only took a couple of days :) Yesterday myself and a buddy were flying the rockies. We started in the northern rockies, and flew into the central rockies. Both of us commenting on the new found performance of our new rigs. Landing at our first airport in the central rockies, it was obvious something was most definitely wrong. My buildings seemed like default buildings, but I was happy with the scenery for the last few miles. It turned out that central rockies wasn't even installed. I found this out by checking FTX central installed list. The reason it wasn't installed, as it turns out, is because I couldn't find the email with the reg codes, and put it off until I could get the codes from the FSS. So Ron, you're not alone, it's easy to forget to install something, and I have no doubt in my mind that I've bought stuff in the passed that I no longer remember buying, and don't have installed anymore :)

Screen problem.
Tigerclaw replied to Ourgas2's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcSimilar problem here, investigating it right now. Totally new system, and complete re-install. It's got me stumped at this moment, but I'll carry on looking into it. Hope you find a solution before I do :) Okay I forced vertical sync to ON, in the NVidia control panel, and that "seems" to have cleared the issue for me.

NOT posted on Orbx...
I've been out of the loop for many weeks now, been busy with a new job. I didn't realise it had got so bad over there until I just read the post from the link above. What a bunch of crap. Oooops can I say crap on here? I think the guy has a "King" or "God" complex personally, and I'm afraid I'm done with that forum now. No more posting for me.

Is there a patch and how do I get it?
You have to log into the account you bought the plane from on the Carenado web site, then it will be listed for you. If you bought it somewhere else, then it's a waiting game until they get the updated install file.

Autopilot
Nice little tip, thanks for that :)

Not using fuel.
Stupid question, have you guys "switched" the taps to the tanks on the overhead? They are set to "OFF" by default, but the engines stay running. I always switch mine to the green and the gauges work fine.

Cera Sim Bell 222 Released
I'm inclined to agree with Damien. I have the ND 500, 135, 902, and ch53. I also bought the Cera 412EP ages ago, and the Dodo. Just the other day I purchased the Cera 222B. My order of preference for "feel", immersion, and what I feel to be realism is as follows.1. The Dodo 206. Still top of the heap, and nothing out there to touch it as yet.2. The Cera 412. Feels pretty realistic (my view), and is a complete joy to fly for hours on end.3. There is no three just yet. The 222B doesn't feel quite right to me, but I need to check out my FSUIPC settings tomorrow. It just seems to wallow somehow, but it maybe I'm using a fixed wing curve in my FSUIPC settings. It's certainly a beautiful craft, and I fell in love with it the first time I saw in the 1980's. If it turns out what I'm feeling is down to my FSUIPC, then this Cera 222B will be number three without a doubt. Those are followed by the Nemeth copters, but only the 902. I don't rate the others much at all.
