  1. works in P3D too. https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/8523/fsx-zanzibar-airport-scenery/#screenshots
  2. Lol I remember in 2010 when every aviation article and airline said Ground Power was only in case of emergencies because its expensive. Now its used like water! Either airlines got richer or APU became too expensive haha
  3. Worth it. Perhaps start with only the essentials: One PMDG jet, another GA aircraft and one or two sceneries; then work your way up. Thats how Ive been progressing since 2014
  4. between one month and 2, about 1.75 months. The only thing holding back development now is the P3D version. trying to get the features of the addon to work with the added capability of Prepar3D. its summer, have beer, she'll be here soon. in the mean time, SAITEK, are realeasing the X56 rhino HOTAS on may 30
  5. Hello, I had REX essential overdrive and now want to invest in texture direct w/ soft clouds. I cant remember where I bought it (I have the order number and reg key to prove it) but I would also like a discount. Could you please help?
  6. True LM needs to know, but I also thought its worth telling you the major ones so you could pass it on to the dev team or share with people on the forum for awareness
  7. Theres a bunch of quirks I've noticed which im gonna attribute to P3D 3.1 and windows 10. 1 Theres a bug where entering a specific fuel number in the FMC at payloads lower than 50% causes ZFW to change around and you'll have to re enter fuel a couple times until you get correct ZFW and the fuel you wanted (in 777X, havent tested NGX, ask MR Gollnick for more info) 2. DELETE YOUR SHADERS: every time you install new textures like REX or PrecipitFX, change your display settings or CFG, update your graphics driver or change inspector settings you HAVE TO REBUILD YOUR SHADERS. failure to do so will result in stutters which culminate into an ntdll.dll CRASH!. Furthermore, I've noticed fewer stutters and random crashes (related to ASN rendering new weather after being paused for a long time at TOD) by using adaptive vsync in NVIDA combined with P3D internal vsync with triple buffering at unlimited frames 3.P3D is a moving target so every new update will break at least one thing and yes Ive done a clean install of windows and that did not change anything either. The only good thing about FSX is that despite its bugs they remained constant and we could confidently work around them with worrying about them changing 4.Theres more if you want to hear
  8. Yup! I do two RTOs at max weight until the plane wont move and the gear synoptic is orange and I get 10.0 break heat, but funnily enough No red brakes
  9. I noticed the glowing red tyres dont appear anymore in P3D V3.1. Was this intended or is it a bug?
  10. Yep I cracked it this happens on low payloads and the reason why it has gone unnoticed so long is that most people fly their 777s HEAVY, i fly light medium hauls. Try creating a panel state on the 200LR based off the SHORT state but with empty payload. Save that and restart the sim using it as a default 777 state. Change payload to any level below 50% (try the low 40s) and then try entering manual fuel amount in the FUEL page. If ZFW doesnt change, try switching between the preset fuel levels and using manual entry again. I guarantee yiou will see hyour ZFW change. Tested mostly on a 300ER, also seen at least once in the LR
  11. Interesting observation. If it helps my default 777 panel state is essentially the SHORT state with 1% payloed and 1/3 Fuel (from the presets in the FUEL page). The reason why I set payload first is because I first decide how much Im gonna carry then use the ZFW in Simbrief to get the amount of fuel I need which is then entered in the 777 fmc. Further testing reveals that grounds ops is not affected by changing ZFWs. Also when the ZFW is wrong (has changed erroneously), clicking on ZFW in the PERF page to retrieve zero fuel weight gives a double decimal number like 198.234.232 which is mathematically impossible. Goes back to a proper number after the "workaround"
  12. I know right?? Its very weird only seen this recently with 3.1 and Yes I did a clean reinstall of the sim AND windows, even re ran the 777 installer to repair but no dice. What I do is randmozie the payload using the payload button then tweak the passenger numbers a bit to my liking. Then I go to fuel and enter a specific number in the top left. Most times, that causes my ZFW to change which is an error. There is a work around where I click between the preset fuel values on the fuel page until ZFW becomes what it was then I try re entering manual fuel. After a try or two Iam able to have the correct ZFW with the desired fuel. Strange behaviour nonetheless. Any clues?
  13. 180 in thousands i mean. I was writing it the FMC way. No, I use the FMC
  14. when i manually enter fuel my ZFW changes and flips about. For example the correct one will be 209.1 kgs which then changes to 180kgs or something like that. I get around this by entering another random fuel level so the corrcect ZFW comes back then I re enter the desired fuel from my flight plan. Has anyone noticed this behaviour? (P3D 3.1). If it helps I use a 777 startup panel state of '777 short' but with zero payload and 17% fuel saved
  15. Sorry to bust your chops but secret project 2 is NOT the 777-200ER. SECRET 1= PMDG DC6 SECRET 2= PMDG 747-400V2 (Circa 2013) dont be sad tho, there is one more big surprise that is still in the "is it possible" phase source: Forum gurus
  16. They're mostly used by people with a single GPU that want to add more GPUs They're not that common yet, but have been popular for those wanting to explore 4K gaming at 100fps http://www.banggood.com/EXP-GDC-Laptop-External-PCI-E-Graphics-Card-p-934367.html check this video
  17. a connector that allows you to plug GPUs in to add to the laptop, basically turning your setup into SLI. Dont need it now tho
  18. Good news gettin 4k now (yes!) but will obviously run most games at 1080 -3k but i have an external gpu dock lined up will just hook it to my laptop later when i'll need to
  19. Ok I did some asking and called a developer friend and was recommended to invest in 4K as in 2+ years it will be as mainstream as DVD. Anyway I posted on hardware forum, now we wait... I just gotta decide on 16gb or 32gb ram next
  20. I have questions for laptop 4k? is it worth it? (still young now, but im thinkin 2+ years from now where most apps may support it, I tried retina and basic 1080p just isnt enough ) 16 vs 32 gb ram (again thinking in the future, will 32 be necessary?) Msata drives( Should I get two small ones or One big one? the Msata runs beside a 1Tb samsung SSD)
  21. Hello can anyone help me with finding a new gaming laptop pretty please? Kyle?Ryan Maziarz? There are thousands of you and I know we have some PC geniuses amoung us! Hello there guys, My birthday is coming up and Im in the market for a new *gaming laptop 15 inch* and I hope you can offer some expertise. Im in London and im stuck between getting the new alienware 15, the cyber power pc 15 or the pc-specialist 15 inch http://www.pcspecial...ooks/octane-15/ Im gonna use - and + to share my thoughts so far, please feel free to recommend options, forget the price for now, I just need help seeing whats out there (Remember Im in the UK) I need help finding beast processor (up to 4ghz w/boost), best gpu (nvidia gtx 980m or higher) and monster screen (4K resolution). So far, alienware fails with a processor only maxing at 3.5ghz with boost and is (-)the most expensive option (+)BUT it has a 4K screen but then again (-) their nvida gtx 980m is only 4GB (Ive seen 8 GB models out there) but (+) their graphics amplifier looks nice. Warranty up to three years (for extra amount) ~ £2,850 for what I want Cyber power PC has all I want in terms of CPU and GPU but fails in terms of screen resolution. They have a standard 1080p when What I want is 4K. Also their support seems pretty poor only offering a 1 year warranty (for all that money) and asking me to pay for laptop insurance from a thrid party company against theft/accidents/fire. ~£2,765 for what I want https://www.cyberpow...5_Gaming_Laptop Pc specialist so far is looking like the best option satisfying my CPU requirements, GPU requirements AND a 4K screen. Also, they include a 3 year warrant already with the price but you can pay a bit more for "premium support". Out of all three, this is the most affordable too. The only drawback I can see here is that I have never heard of them until today and their exterior seems quite plain but at least there is a multi coloured backlit keyboard. Please not I also picked an antivirus, office student and two hard drives (1 TB SATA) and 240 SSD. ~£2,573 for what I want Any thoughts? Also please remember 15.6 inches only and a company that ships affordably to the UK I am very mobile so a desktop is out of the question The reason why I want all that power is because I barely come in contact with consoles becaus of my mobility and I do everything on my PC for once Im willing to pay a bit more to make running games/applications a piece of cake Thanks Valesius Faulkner
  22. Remember Im considering this as an investment for minimum 4 years but as for as long as I can keep it alive. Although not many games are optimised for 4K NOW, there is a growing number of games that are and will support it. Remember back when people laughed at the idea of a 3.0 ghz laptop, saying its stupid? Well we got 4.0 ghz and some machines out there are so powerful they are basically folding desktops Now, my thoughts are divided on these: 4K ?(I know its still young, but I need something to challenge apple's retina 16 VS 32 GB?: 32gb is within my budget but is it worth it? I dont want to pay for something i will nerver need, not even in the future 2MSata SSD drives vs just one? (I can afford a single 500GB 200 SSD OR a double setup with one lower end 120gb and another lower end 240gb Cooling pad? it costs £26 pounds extra I have had serious heating issues with my current dell insporon 15r se thoughts?
