This is the forum for SIMstarter Freeware. Please switch to the official Aerosoft Forum. I hope for your understanding that I can't give support on different platforms. The key of your question is the checkbox "Show simulator startup screen". :smile:

SIMstarter is not longer supported. But SIMstarter NG will show the registration below the thumbnail at the next version. Thank you - good point!

I have no idea. Take care that SIMstarter changes the fsx.cfg as well. Maybe your "resolution changes" are before that changes? Please note that SIMstarter is not longer supported. The successor is SIMstarter NG.

Some days ago Aerosoft released the successor of my well know freeware SIMstarter. From this point, the support for SIMstarter freeware will be stopped in general. I hope for your understanding, because I run the Hobby parallel to family and a full time job and can not take care of two such projects. You can continue to use the freeware but I really would appriciate if you take a look at SIMstarter NG. There have been a lot of improvements. We offer all people who did a donation until yesterday 21st of February 2016 for SIMstarter a FREE COPY of SIMstarter NG for a period of 60 days after release of SIMstarter NG. Thank you for all supporters of SIMstarter. -- Vor einigen Tagen wurde der Nachfolger, der beliebten Freeware SIMstarter von Aerosoft veröffentlicht. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt, muss ich den Support der Freeware leider einstellen. Ich hoffe auf Euer Verständnis, da ich neben der Familie und dem Job nicht zwei Projekte dieser Art betreiben kann. Hallo Norbert, erst einmal Danke für Deine Spende für die Freeware. In der Tat, die Payware ist nun verfügbar. Es muss, wie immer im Leben, eine Deadline geben. Man kann weiterhin die Freeware nutzen und dafür Spenden. Das wird auch weiterhin so bleiben - auch wenn der Support für die Freeware eingestellt wurde. Es ist ja eine freiwillige Spende über die ich sehr dankbar bin. Wie immer im Leben, wird allerdings auch Dein Einzelfall mit gesundem Menschenverstand behandelt. Daher schreibe mir bitte eine PM, ich teile Dir dann mit, wie Du an die Freecopy kommst. DU bist aber der letzte Einzelfall, da nun vor dem Download der Freeware darauf hingewiesen wird, dass NG verfügbar ist und die Freeware nicht supportet wird. Falls Du die Payware nicht willst, kann ich Deine Spende auch gerne zurücksenden - it's up to you. Du hattest ja noch gar keine "Kulanzanfrage" gestellt. Das wäre ja ein Erster Schritt gewesen - aber nichts für ungut! :-)

SIMstarter NG - out now!

Strange. You could try to run <YOUR SIM>\MakeRwys.exe and try again. If that doesn't work please wait until SIMstarter NG is out. I won't and can't support any code changes for SIMstarter Freeware any more. NG has a quite new and better code base which gives me more and better debug possibilities. If this problems accures with NG too - I will digg into the code to find a solution. NG will be out soon. *smile*

But - if you are a new user of SIMstarter my advice would be waiting until the payware comes out. SIMstarter freeware won't be supported any more. I hope for your understanding...

Uuups. Did it worked already? What if you open the LiveryManager? Which version of SIMstarter are you using?

I tested myself and it worked. Can you make a screenshot of the Operating System Error message if you open the file? Just for your information: There is a new version "SIMstarter NG" upcoming which will be provided by Aerosoft.

Das ist eigentlich ungewöhnlich. SIMstarter versucht dort einen Wert einzulesen, den er nicht interpretieren kann. Daher wäre ein Profil hilfreich. Erfreulicher Weise ist das Handling dieser Fehler in SIMstarter NG deutlich besser abgefangen... :O)

Hallo Boris, das sieht danach aus, dass in einem Profil ein Wert enthalten ist, mit dem SIMstarter ein Problem hat. Welche Profil öffnest Du denn? Ging das jemals? Falls es mit einem speziellen Profil ein Problem gibt, dann poste bitte mal die entsprechende Datei aus dem Verzeichnis ".\Userprofiles" "FSXprofile0X_sim.cfg" X entspricht der Profilnummer.

Strange one. I never got such an error since the beginning of SIMstarter. The "Virtual Store" error indicates, that this happend because of the installation path and active UAC within window. To prevent such errors you should move SIMstarter outside of "C:\Program Files (x86)" what you have done now. The current error looks like a permission problem. So please double check the permissions and run SIMstarter with administrator rights. If all this does not work please wait until SIMstarter NG comes up (soon, whatever that means). I won't spend any time debugging SIMstarter because every free times goes to SIMstarter NG. Which P3Dv3 version are you using? v3.2 is not supportet with SIMstarter. NG will for sure.

Right. As Clive wrote we will take all time for the current release candidate of NG. We are on short final... SIMstarter NG is already supporting v3.2.

Hallo Alhard, sorry, ich war am Wochenende auf der Flusi Conference in Berlin (und habe auch ein paar Deiner Bekannten getroffen *smile*). NG unterstützt nun unterschiedliche FSUIPC4.ini files.
