  1. Hey there, hopefully someone can point me into the right direction. I am using OTT and native P3D V4.3 VR. Whatever Supersampling I set in OTT it slows down my Sim but it makes no visual difference, same blurry gauges in the 777. Does it matter what Resolution I set in P3D when using VR? Thanks guys! 🙂
  2. Yeah that would not make any sense. However I am still not sure how things work together. REX SF comes with new features like: "Added rain shafts to calvus and incus cumulonimbus clouds of various intensities. Also included are wall and shelf clouds, and in some circumstances these will include funnel clouds and tornadoes of various shapes and sizes." "Advanced Weather Formations - Soft clouds and detailed cloud textures structured together within the SAME session." "Single-Session Cloud Texture Variation - The simulator is limited to 8 textures linked to clouds. We have quadrupled that amount to 32, which allows more variety during a flight session. " And so on...In my Understanding Active Sky just picks up the textures from REX SF and puts them into the sim with its very own formations.
  3. This post is some days old, however you guys might help me with some further info on Sky Force. It seems their weather engine sucks and I already have Active Sky and would run it with Sky Force. Now Sky Force comes with many new features as they stated - would I miss any of the remodeling of sky strucures and so on when turning off the Sky Force weather enginge and let AS do the Job? Yet, I dont realy understand how they work together...Or would this combination mean, that the only benefit from Sky Force would be new textures?
  4. Is there any way to save the position of those undocked windows so they come up at any flight with the 777?
  5. I am looking for any smart values on the PMDG 777. Right now I dont notive anything when touching down, also when the nose wheel touches down - nothing. I thought PMDG would already include this effect, is chase plane somehow corrupting it?
  6. Hey there - hopefully someone can help me a bit here. I do not fully understand how all that navdata stuff works. P3D V4 comes with some kind of navdata right? And then each plane also has its own navdata? I am having an isuue where I cannot select RW25 Approach on LSGS in PMDG 777 (just shows some weird approach straight into the mountains) but I could in Aerosoft a320 in V3. So where do I go from here?
  7. What keeps me away from stutters: Set P3D to only use cores 1-7 4x DSR 8xMSAA 16x Ani then starting with the lowest settings in P3D and working my way up.

  9. Hm well same here with V4. My CPU & GPU are not under heavy load (50%) and still there are many unsharp textures arround me and it takes ages until they load and sometimes dont even load. I didnt change anything in the cfg. Any Ideas?
  10. I have the same at the wing view. Trying to get closer to the window by moving my head torwards it, the view moves into the direction of the cockpit.
  11. Would be great to be able to assign zoom to control+mouse wheel or mouse5+mouse wheel.
  12. Hm I have trueView ticked but stil the same Problem: I have created a wing view and when leaning forwards to get closer to the window it is moving torwards the cockpit. I think this is connected to how the views are created. When I set up the wing view my head position is ignored. From the cockpit I moved back into the cabin, then turned my head right and saved that view. However when I switch to that view, I am at the wing but looking torwards the cockpit door. The position of my head using TrackIR is ignored when saving a view. So I had to create the view with the pan button and trackIR paused. However when then switching to the view I have to Problem described above.
  13. Thanks! Will do! Still like the idea of the 10 days cycle. Do I have to change the date of flight to get a different texture or does it check the system date? Because often I am reloading a saved flight...
  14. Hey there, to be honest I am not sure wich sky texture it is as I have recently changed them again. I think it is the one from navidh (http://navidh.se/misc_navids_skyset_2016_v3.html) - see my images of it here: http://www.avsim.com/topic/490178-prepar3d-tweak-assistant-pta-screenshots-presets/page-16#entry3573319 This one is great - never got that with REX. It could also be one out of the 10 day cycle I have installed for testing but not sure, some of them are very similar: http://1coder.ru/SKY/screens.html
  15. This looks like you have limited the clouds shadow draw distance in P3D settings. Guys I dont want to hijack this thread for solving my Problems but as PTa is a lot about clouds and shadows I wonder if anyone of you ever had the issue with black squares in the mountains. I see Adam flying a lot in the mountains... I am not able to reproduce it, sometimes it looks great with clouds arround the mountain caps and sometimes, at some point of day, black squares kick in. May be depending on the angle of the sun and the used cloud type.
  16. Here is another video showing the flickering sun effects on water and cockpit surface. Also shadows of mountains on the water are jumping arround.

  18. Thanks! To get this kind of light, wich pleases me a lot, I had to get away from the REX Skytextures wich always looked odd at dusk/dawn. Using http://navidh.se/misc_navids_skyset_2016_v3.html now.
  19. Adam, first of all - PTA and your presets made me love my Sim again!! I moved my 47" TV Screen on my Desk and now its soaking me in :-) One Question: What P3D settings for reflections and shadows (cast, receive...) are you using?
  20. Where to find "track up"? Found it but it is greyed out - still black map since yesterday.

Moved away from REX Sky Textures to: http://navidh.se/misc_navids_skyset_2016_v3.html With PTA+Adams Preset: http://www.nzfsim.org/index.php?dsp=PTA&preset=20_09#2009 ASN might also add value due to its haze. Ok that was indeed the shadow radius. To bad LM did not create a smoother transission.
  22. Thanks so far. However I am not sure if I can follow. If this is cloud shadows then the way those shadows are created by P3d is not right. How can a small flake of cloud create such a sharp shadow and why would the shadows start right under the cloud when the sun is nearly the same height? hmhmh... Also the straight line seems not to go along with distance settings. Look at this. No line, shadows are not having a sharp quadratic shape...
  23. I also see this on some surfaces in the cockpit. Its like a shadow overlay that moves like a carousel fast from left to right, then stops and moves from right to left...
