  1. great flyby sounds, why can't MS make the in-game sounds this good?
  2. you can move the eyepoint by an extreme amount, it is possible to place it outside of the fuselage and then you won't see the plane.
  3. loved the wacky group landings. great imagination and skills.how did you go about co-ordinating all the pilots? Did you know each other prior to the challenge and set yourself up a private multiplayer session?
  4. hints and titbits of info are displayed when the game is loading. i noticed one that says "some aerocaches can only be collected using a helicopter or by foot".
  5. crikey, a lot of activity on this forum! my thread had already sunk to page 2. Just wanted to thank the guys that responded. Fingers crossed for an auto-replay function in the future then, especially useful after landings to how good the flare was.
  6. that's all well and good, but how to hide them when flying with the mouse?
  7. Is there no replay function for reviewing landings/crashes? I haven't found it which seems like a glaring omission.
  8. very skillful! it looked like you were having some stutters, especially during the tight banking turns, or is it just an effect of youtube?
  9. that's a very handy resource! It took me a little while to figure out why there were two markers on each map but got it figured eventually. Many thanks!
  10. loved the video! really great stunts and a nice production! Is the video speeded up, I don't seem to get the same sensation of speed when I fly.Is it possible to set wind speed and direction? I can only find the weather themes and have not been able to choose the wind settings.
  11. very cool, thanks for these contributions!
  12. Aha, I've been misreading the wind icon. I thought the arrow pointed to where the wind is coming from. but no, according to that image and the windsock the arrow is actually showing the direction of the wind. Silly me.
  13. thanks again. Ok, I'm off to try that out in the "sim" :)
  14. thanks! the wind icon then is a bit of a cheat, does a real plane have an instrument that displays the wind direction relative to the heading?
  15. Just wondering, the wind gauge in the HUD; does it display the wind direction relative to the aircraft heading, or does it show the direction relative to the points of the compass?
  16. GuysI've been really enjoying the "Move Eyepoint" feature in the virtual cockpit. To use it hold down the mouse wheel and then move the mouse up/down/left/right. It is a good idea to press Spacebar first to disengage the Mouse control mode if you are flying with the mouse.I use this when taxiing the Stearman to move my head out the side of the canopy for better visibility. But I noticed that it doesn't stop there. You can move your viewpoint further, outside of the fuselage, or even to the wingtip! Up and down movements can be just as extreme, you can position your viewpoint between the undercarriage, behind a wheel or above the propeller!By the way, I now do most of my flying using the mouse for control. I find it very easy to right-click to look around, and I'm now constantly adjusting my viewpoint. I find the planes very enjoyable to fly using the mouse. I don't like the cross-hairs much though.
  17. True that, but by default you join a public multiplayer session. There is a mode for creating your own private session. Tried to find the info online but I no longer remember where I read it.
  18. You are always flying 'online' in Flight so you will encounter plenty of other aircraft. Whether or not you can class this as 'Intelligent' is another matter entirely. Probably most of the other gamers will be intent on crashing into you.
