Hawaii Airport List

Featured Replies

Well, after a few days I can see why MS Flight dropped the word 'Simulator'. It's an arcade game. But a damn good one.Although I've been flying since SubLogic was running the show and I love the complexity of FSX I must say that I've really enjoyed my time spent on MS Flight (or is it Flight Unlimited?).The one thing I did need though was a list of airports and the associated runway compass headings/altitude as once in a mission you can't go back to the map.I have attached the Hawaii Airports.pdf file for those of you who just need the same quick fix. It really comes in handy when flying at night. Don't expect too much.Fly well.BR

Thanks! Handy reference. I was thinking of making a quick printable list of all the Airport Radio Freqs and Freqs of various ground stations around the islands.. I'm sure they will be made functional eventually. (or else why even bother listing them) Getting a bit tedious hitting M and referencing VOR Freqs from the map since it loads every time you hit M to go back. A nice list to reference would be easier.. Depending on my caffiene intake for the day I might just do this.

The VORs and ILS/DME freqs are working already. There's no ADF radio available yet, so of course the NDBs are currently not usable, but... perhaps the aircraft coming up for Alaska might have a working ADF/NDB, who knows? :search:

Yeah when I said "will work eventually" I should have been more specific and said "ATC" :) Love that VOR works though. Getting around the islands is fun times..

Nice! Some notes about the airports on the Big Island. Many of the purple airports are or were ag-use-only grass strips, and from what I can tell from some extensive Google Earthing of all of these a few years ago, most of them aren't used anymore. The number of airports that you can actually land at in real life is quite small: Kona, Upolu, Waimea, and Hilo (to my knowledge anyway). Bradshaw is of course mil-only.I visited the Honoka'a airstrip by bicycle a couple years ago. It wasn't usable... I also looked for the Mountain View strip one time by car and couldn't find it, but I have to admit I didn't try very hard as my wife was with me and there was shopping to be done 8^) .aloha,Dave.

Negative. It's a "spoonerism" of my first and last name, bestowed on me by another Dave B. that I worked with, long before I'd ever seen that movie.right then,Dave.

Good job BR!Sloppy of MS not to release maps and aircraft handbooks!

Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

Very nice - thank you very much for putting this together and sharing BR!

Thanks. Exactly what I needed.

Funny. And odd. I've been playing the game ever since it was released, but when I opened this pdf (great!) my first reaction was: "Wow... are there THAT many airports in Hawaii...?" Maybe I have been to busy with missions and challenges, but I hadn't registered yet that MS Flight offers a lot of airports already...!

This is great - thank you!

Thanks, will be useful.Landed the RV at Bellows last night, which focussed the mind a little...had I your guide I would have known it was closed. :Kiss:Mind you the runway holes, grass growing through and the whacking great building at the intersection were a clue...Frequencies would be so useful!CheersKeith
