  1. Wilco E-Jet series offers the E-170 & E-190 and is currently on sale at Wilco. I've never flown this one. The aircraft was developed by FeelThere but it's only supported through Wilco. I do own and enjoy the FeelThere e-Jets v2, which has the E-175 & E-195. It is closer to a study level. There are a fair amount of liveries and it has a fully functioning FMC which can utilize Navigraph. Ernie
  2. Thanks, Haven't learned about that yet. This is my first airport, so very much in the learning stage. I found it interesting that FSX didn't display the taxiways, but LNM did.
  3. Not sure how Options->Map Display->Airports: Diagram works, but unchecking it removed the taxiways. Initially it wiped out the taxiways, parking, etc. on all of my airports, but it appears to be okay now. Anyway, consider the issue resolved.
  4. I am modifying NXP Twentynine Palms EAF using ADE. The airport has changed drastically since FSX was released, so I have removed all parking, taxiways, signs, building, re-centered the runway, etc. I have ran SimpleAirportScanner and both it and LNM show there are no duplicates. Just the default airport in Scenery\0202 and the replacement in Addon Scenery\Scenery. When viewed in FSX the airport displays the runway only which I what I would expect. However, LNM is displaying the taxiways, which are probably bleed though from from the default NXP. I tried an exclusion rectangle, but it made no difference in the graphic that LNM is displaying. Is there something I can do, so that the FSX and LNM are in alignment on what the airport looks like? Thanks, Ernie Original airport as seen in LNM Modified airport as seen in LNM Modified airport as seen in FSX
  5. Here's a random capture that I posted on imgur. I don't think they do any watermarking.. Ernie
  6. If you click on the Text Editor tab of SCE what do the first few entries look like. All, or most of them should include Local=Scenery\<folder>. Also, you might compare scenery.cfg to a previous backup version of scenery.cfg that SCE would have made.
  7. I don't have P3DV4, so someone else will have to answer your question, but you can pick and choose SimObject folders to load or not if you have SIMstarter NG.
  8. IMHO, I would suggest downloading one of the profiles and see what information it contains. It can be opened in a text editor. They aren't super detailed, so it depends on what information you are looking for. Alex will obviously have add more info than I can give you. Ernie
  9. Freeware, although you can install some of the payware AI from FS Painter, if you choose. You can still use AI-Manager with FSX, but you have to install aircraft and liveries manually. Under the Tool option in the menu select Setting choose the option to specify FSX. One of the columns in the message body should be 'Download-Link'. If you hover you mouse over the FS9, #2, or other text you will get the classic download link. Finally, once you download a flight plan look in C:\ProgramData\AIGTech\temp_flightplan for a file titled 'AIG.xml'. You'll want this, because not all liveries are available and AIG.xml contains the information of what livery to use for the missing one.
  10. Thanks for posting the solution. It may help out the next person.
  11. Not at all and I would think other users feel the same. Ernie
  12. Click on the Download: here link under the One Click Installer (OCI) message. OCI only works with P3D4, but the application itself with work for manual installs with FSX/P3Dv3, etc. There is no manual that I'm aware of, but I admit I didn't look. It's fairly intuitive if you play with it long enough, although there were points of frustration. You'll have to download some aircraft to a simobject folder from the link I listed above. I use a separate one titled 'AI Aircraft' to make it easy to manage. If you go that route, you'll need to insure that you add it to your list of SimObjectPaths in FSX.cfg. Some airlines have all of the repaints available, some only partial and you have to do some substitution. Some aircraft give you the option for a payware or freeware AI aircraft. Some aircraft offer both a FS9 and FSX model. Since the FSX version sometimes requires you merge a alpha.bmp file into the texture I mostly stuck with the FS9 version. At some point I'll update to the FSX model, but for now the FS9 model works fine. It's more of a pain at the beginning because you need to add a lot of aircraft, but gets easier as you build your library. I would start with Porter Airlines to get a basic feel. It only uses on aircraft and both textures are provided. I should add that although AIM includes the ability to compile, I sometimes found it easier to use AIFP to compile.
  13. BTW, if you do decide to go the AIG route, most of the aircraft you will need are linked on the AIG forum page titled "Looking for a AI Model"
  14. The FS9 traffic will overwrite the FSX traffic, but only if the traffic file names are the same. You may need to change the filename when you compile the FS9 traffic. Also, be sure that the traffic is converted to FSX format. The presence any FS9 format traffic files will block the FSX traffic files from loading. You would only need to rename the aircraft if their title in the aircraft.cfg were the same. I would recommend you look at Alpha-India Group (AIG). It's a bit more difficult to add in FSX than P3D, but you'll be getting current airline and cargo carriers instead of the fictitious ones that FS9 and FSX provide.. Ernie
  15. Thanks all. Looks like I'm going to have to do some hands on towards the end. I've been avoiding it until I hit the glide slope because the cockpit management stuff is a bit overwhelming, but I guess it's time to buck up.
  16. Here are a couple of images that illustrate the problem that I'm having. The first is KJAX-KMIA- HILEY7, ILS27. The second KLEX-KATL-CHPPR1, ILS27R In both case the turn to approach is rounded and by the time I hit the final approach point (HENDN or YOUYU) I am too far above the suggested altitude. HENDN is particularity a problem because the next step is GS1700 and the FMC doesn't descend the aircraft fast enough to hit it.
  17. That's actually my problem. Trying to get the aircraft to correctly enter the final approach leg.
  18. Thanks, When given the option I leave the bank angle along, but I don't think the E175 gives that option. Something else I need to look into.
  19. Good point. I usually leave it up to the FMC, but it's usually between 150 to 200 IAS, but seldom pay attention to what my GS is. That is something I guess I need to be more aware of. I try to insure the FMC agrees with the charts, but not really sure what I should be shooting for when I intercept.
  20. I am currently flying the FeelThere E175, but this really applies to all of the big jets I have. I attempt to fly using STARs, but using LNAV/VNAV I frequently find that the plane takes a wide turn when entering the approach course and by the time it's on course I'm high. I am then faced with a go around, or manual dive to get to the appropriate altitude. One solution I have used is to lengthen the point at which I intercept the approach course to compensate for the turn, but not sure if that's how others do it. When flying VATSIM this in not an issue because the controller insures that I'm at the correct altitude. However, VNAV doesn't have human smarts. So, I guess that I'm asking is how others deal with this issue. Thanks, Ernie
  21. Interesting. All of my default liveries installed without issue. There is a thread on the QualityWings forum regarding missing repaints, but I don't know if that's the issue you are experiencing. I had originally bought from JustFlight, so had to transfer the license to Flight1, but I think that was because QW is now using the Flight1 wrappter instead of the FSDT Addon Manager.
  22. I have both QW757 and GSX2. I haven't attempted a load for a year or so until I read your message and found I had a similar issue where FSX would crash if I attempted to load the 757. I went to the forum and found there was a hotfix available, not related to the problem, but also discovered there was a more recent version of the aircraft than I had running. I uninstalled the old version, installed the new version and the hotfix, although the hotfix may not have been needed and all is well. Not saying yours is the same issue, but there was a version released earlier this year. Ernie
  23. Alex, No issues on my end with FSX and I use both Navigraph and fsAerodata with 1905. Just realized that there is an update to fsAerodata, which I haven't done, so perhaps it's in FSX also. Going to wait until I hear from your end.. Ernie
  24. If you do choose to buy it I would recommend waiting. No need to buy now and pay full price since REX has frequent sales.
  25. Not sure, maybe you got the development source. Try downloading it again from one of the direct download links just under the "Little Navmap 2.2.4 released" heading. It should a simple unzip/unarc and drop where you want it.
