  1. Thanks Alex, I was truly expecting a "sorry, I can't do anything about it", so even the possibility brings delight. Ernie
  2. Alex, I've probably already asked and you've answered, but since I can't find the thread I'll ask again. Is there anyway to resize the Flight Plan - Information - Search window beyond what it can be shrunk? I like having it visible, but would like the ability to either make it smaller via the mouse (can already make it bigger) or have some type of hide/unhide click spot similar to the Adobe PDF view and some other apps I've seen. I guess that I'm not much into doing the undock thing with the map window. Mostly because I struggle to get everything back the way I like it. I seem to recall that the answer was no because of the GUI environment you're using. Thanks, Ernie
  3. Would be interesting to find out why some users have this issue because I've never had problems doing the activation for FSX deluxe or Acceleration.
  4. The other thing you can do is to open the Missons\Backcountry\Denali folder in FSX, then open the Denali.PLN file in notepad. That might give you some useful coordinates.
  5. I've been importing a bunch of AIG flight plans into FSX over the past few months. Not an easy task, but during the process I found a great app titled AI Companion on the AIG forum. It was designed primarily for P3Dv4, but still usable with some restrictions in FSX. Today the author released a FSX version that enabled the Live traffic view. Note: This only works with BGL traffic files and therefore isn't useful for UTL or UT2. Ernie
  6. Becoming easier to resist these sales as the developers move away from FSX.
  7. If not sure give it a try. As long as you buy it from Flight1 they have a 30-day return/refund policy.
  8. Are you running FSX in Windowed mode or full screen? Needs to be in Windowed with multiple screens.
  9. I've had EDTracker for some time but could never get it to work correctly with CP, so it's been on the shelf for the past year. Lately, I've pulled it out and want to give it another go. CP recognizes EDTracker and I can assign the Tilt, Pan and Roll axis without issue. The problem is that when I do move my head the pan, tilt or roll response is incredibly slow. It's similar to having a slow down function for the button on my hat switch. I've tried adjusting the scaling settings in the EDTracker software and that has no effect. I get quite a bit of screen flicker also, similar to when multiple controls are assign to the same function. Since it's been over a year since I last attempted this I hoping there might be another user or developer who is using EDTracer with CP. Thanks, Ernie
  10. Alex, Please take this as it's meant with humor and not criticism. Every time I see the comment about what's coming in 2.4 I'm reminded of the old joke regarding Microsoft and sex. https://www.acc.umu.se/~conrad-s/jokes/msjoke.html 😃 Ernie
  11. I've been using a Amazon Basics 7 port USB 3.0 hub for some of my FSX extras for a two or three years. Haven't hooked up any of my Saitek panels to it because I have a pair on internally connected USB 2.0 bay hubs for those..
  12. Thanks, sadly not an option for me since I use a mini-keyboard which doesn't have a separate numpad. Is it possible to assign the option to a non-numpad key?
  13. New user here. FSX has an option to Snap the view back to front facing. This is is great because you don't have to try and recenter the view by using the hat switch. I couldn't find something similar in X-Plane 11. Does one exist and if so what is the assignment called? I have an EDTracker and X-Plane 11 recognizes and even responds to movements in the calibration screen. However, that stops once I open the flight screen. I know that I can use something like OpenTrack, but it appears that X-Plane natively supports the device. I'm just not sure why it doesn't respond once out of the calibration screen. Thanks, Ernie
  14. FSUIPC has a LUA script which reduces the rolling resistance for taxiing. FSUPIC.INI also contains a parameter; Patchsimfriction=, which can be set. Now the question is either or both work in the free version? This from John Dowson; PatchSIM1friction=No: A is provided to assist with better ground friction and braking. This is enabled by a parameter added to the [General] section of the FSUIPC4.INI file, and applies to both registered and unregistered installations. It operates by patching values in FS's SIM1.DLL, and applies equally to FSX (RTM, SP1, SP2 or Acceleration), and Prepar3D version 1.4. Just add PatchSIM1friction=Yes to the [General] section of the INI. A number of ground friction and braking coefficients are changed. The values set are those currently derived by experiment by Johan Dees (please see the example Lua Frictions.lua for details of the changes -- more below). For registered users, there is more flexibility using plug-ins instead. In this case the parameter is not necessary. Full details can be found in the Lua Plugins package -- see, especialy, the two example Lua plug-ins "frictions.lua" and "DynamicFriction.lua".
  15. I bought both Flight and FSW, so my deal-breaker ceiling is pretty low. Size of subscription price would be the biggest hurdle. One-time fixed price not so much.
  16. What was your previous chip? Maybe even though hyper threading isn't enabled it's being sensed? Affinity = 14 works fine on my i5-3750K, but it has no hyper threading.
  17. If you want answers regarding LNM then I would recommend posting your questions on the LNM forum farther down on the list on AVSIM. I'm a bit surprised that a moderator hasn't already moved this and your other question there.
  18. You need to have LNM installed on both PCs. Then do the Load Database on the computer which has P3dV4 installed. Once the database is built, copy it to the networked PC. The manual contains the how and a search on this forum should return several posts with some hows.
  19. As MaDDogs says, but beware that throwing a landing in the middle of your flight plan will probably mess with LNM's TOC and TOD calculations if you're using them for anything. If you're trying to keep it real, then you would want separate flight plans.
  20. On the other hand, there are those of us who are still using FSX that are happy MS is talking about it. 🙂
  21. Darn, and just when I made the decision to downsize my hanger. I have the iFly 737 and no interest in the others, but I do wish them a ton of sales.
