  1. I did a Calgary to Victoria flight the other day and was struck by how perfectly the FSX add-ons captured the moment.
  2. Dropping from 8x to 1x forces FSX to reload all of the textures, traffic, etc. Much like a change of location would do. I don't know if the time your experiencing is normal, but some temporary hanging is to be expected.
  3. It's in the Information tab for a selected airport. Either search for an airport or double click on one displayed on the map. The scenery being used will be displayed with a link to its folder.
  4. If you're a user of AI Companion, then an update has been posted on AIG. If you're not, then my recommendation is to take a look at it. Similar to the payware SuperTrafficBoard, but includes some added features. The program is primarily designed for BGL format AI traffic such as default, MyTraffic, TrafficGlobal, etc.
  5. Nope, ChasePlane only permits one button assignment per named view. You might be able to copy the view, rename it and assign the second controller button to it.
  6. You really don't need to give status reports..
  7. Looks like a missing texture. Take a look at this on FSDeveloper. Essentially it involves pasting the following in to the [SCENERY] section of your fsx.cfg file. // To show alerts or areas, set to = 1 // To hide alerts or areas, set to = 0 // Alert for missing textures ShowMissingTextureAlert=1 // Alert for missing objects MissingLibraryAlert=1 // Render Trigger areas as visible boxes ShowTriggers=1 That will give you a starting point..
  8. I don't have KATL, but do have FSX. A couple things to try; turn off any anti-virus software during the install and run the install program as Admin.
  9. Wait until a Steam sale. You can probably pick FSX:SE for less than $10.
  10. Do you mean AI ship traffic? I created a separate folder for the traffic files and simply uncheck the scenery area with SceneryConfigEditor or SIMstarter NG when I don't want to run the traffic. The SimObjects are still there, but if they aren't active they don't affect anything.
  11. A couple I might be interested in, but at this point 20% off a $35 FSX airport just isn't enticement enough.
  12. It appears they no longer offer the FMS data only option on their Purchase Subscription page. Must have gotten in just under the wire. 🙂
  13. Hmm.. I just renewed my yearly FMS data subscription on the 11th and haven't received anything about a forced combining of the two. Guess I'll wait and see. Ernie
  14. I'm not interested, but to those who are; there's a level of enjoyment to be had while waiting for 2020.
  15. Well, the 757 itself isn't exactly a spring chicken. 🙂 IMHO, except for a couple bugs that doesn't render it unflyable, just midly annoying, it's a good option for someone who wants a tube that sits between study-level and Ctrl-E and fly aircraft.
  16. Thanks for replying. Either is okay. Just trying to understand the relationship between FIR and center.
  17. Sorry, not trying to overstep, but I may be confused by the usage. In VATSIM isn't the center responsible for the FIR or I guess in the US it's the ARTCC? Some confusion may arise because both the geographic borders of the FIR/ARTCC are displayed as well as a circle when denotes Center control. The circle only covers a portion of the center's area of responsibility and may overlap into another center controllers area (exp. CHI_35_CTR).
  18. Unfortunately, there are still bugs in the 757 they are aware of but refuse to fix. Hopefully, they will be more committed to the 787.
  19. Thank you for your and Jethro's offer. It appears that novatxt1 & novatxt2 are available at one of the links John posted, so I am good to go. I seemed to have missed them on my previous hunting expeditions. Ernie
  20. Rafael John, If you fully read my message, you would have read that I have already downloaded the two Nova files listed in the links that you gave me. Unfortunately, neither contained the files I requested. I have no desire to 'steal' anyone's work, but the links to download NovaTxt1, NovTxt2 no longer exist and I have been unable to contact the original author. If you can provide me a link to the two files listed above I will gladly download them. Also, please note the novagt1 readme.txt dated 2001, which was 18 years ago states. "4.- NOVA textures, if included in your package, must be included in its original file as released, partial release of Nova textures is NOT allowed." It appears to me that he was not forbidding the distribution, just the desire for them to remain intact. So, I do need to amend my request for the whole package and not just the individual files. In fact, Rafael's only restriction was to not allow commercial use without a commercial license. So, while I share your sense of justice I respectfully disagree that this is a case of my begging for illegally shared files at all.
  21. Playing with some FS2004 scenery and I seem to be missing some of the Nova textures. I've found a mix with Loney's and others scenery objects as well as novagt1.zip and novatxt3.zip, but still seem to be missing others in the series. The Nova site is long gone, so I was hoping a FS2004 user might have copies. I have a gap in numbering, but currently looking for nova046 and nova029. I can provide a list of the missing ones that I am aware of if someone has a large collection of the nova, novasim, and novagold textures. Thanks, Ernie.
  22. Sorry Frank, The link I posted takes you to the old version. The updated version is here. The message regarding the updated version is on page 25 of the thread.
  23. FYI, the author posted another update to AI Companion. There is a separate version for FSX, so make sure you get the correct one. Current file is AI_Companion_FSX_20191019. Ernie
  24. Instructions are here if you want to check your work. Depending upon where you fly you may not see much difference between the default and downloaded data. In areas such as the US the data that LNM used was pretty spot on. My understanding is the difference starts to show the farther north you are, particularity Finland, Norway, etc.
  25. Just posted on the forum, not an email contact. The question has also been asked by others with varying scenarios and I don't think that anyone has received a response. Although I could be wrong.
