Poor Airport Info starting to ruin the enjoyment of the game.
The reason for this is the RW runway and NAV data changes. In the US theres a few 10ths of a degree in Magnetic shift a year. If you AC has "newer" data than FSX, (or older) its accounting for this shift. A good way to figure this out is look at the RW charts HDG for the ILS and then look in FSX's default GPS for the HDG, if they're different, then autoland gets screwed up.

Poor Airport Info starting to ruin the enjoyment of the game.
I've noticed this issue alot too. I see it alot with the default style radios. It acts like its trying to find the LOC "envelope". Its kind of a pain for me too. I do know at one point and time, ( though i cant find the link) there was a sight out there where you could download updated airport data with update freqs. and runway data.

Good old FS9
The problem I have is never being able to get the preformance out of FSX or P3D that I get from FS9. I could care less about fancy trees and PMDG awesomenes if I'm flying at 15 FPS...and honestly I'd rather fly than sit here and "tweak" my FSX.cfg file. This thread is hilarious BTW...

ASE/ FS9 Cloud issue
Howdy folks, I'm having a new issue that just started recently with ASE weather. I'll be flying along and my clouds just "pop". Let me explain further: I was flying from ATL - SXM. I took off from ATL and the clouds looked good, looked realistic. At about 18000ft AGL, the clouds disappeared for about 30 seconds, then a solid layer of clouds formed under me (@approx, 15000ft). I thought nothing of it. However, I got around northern Florida where some storms were and starting getting some turbulance but the solid layer of clouds remained. I refreshed ASE weather and the clouds changed to a more realistic scene. High stoms, patchy layers below me, NORMAL REAL looking. Then after about 30sec, boom, back to a solid layer @ approx 15000 or so I'm guessing. It continued for the rest of my flight like that, a solid layer even when local stations reported clear skies. Any ideas on this?

Framerate problem ONLY in the US
This is a tricky topic...for one, what are your settings in FS9? Also what kind of graphics card do you have? Also as Luis asks, what kind of AI are you using. A major cause for FS9 slowdowns are bad texture files in AI traffic. They will really eat up frames. You could have a "local" airline or livery file causing the issue.

yet another pc budget build for FSX
Amnmaddox replied to mikebxb's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcSounds ok...You might get low FPS but its a good budget rig! Get the z87 chip set w/ a better i5. I use a 4670 which from amazon is pretty cheap and worth the $. I think i spent $300 for the Gigabyte MB and CPU.

Making the move...Maybe?
Hey all, I just wanted some input. I see alot of folks moving to P3D so i have to ask...is it worth it. I have a relatively good system and want to migrate to P3D if its worth it. My only hang up is I have been flying with FS9 forever and I have tons of payware and freeware addons. Can I use these in P3D? Is it stable? ie. can i fly without crashes? Is it visually comparable to FSX? Just want some thoughts and opinions... Thanks in Advance!!

Reinstalled FS9
Usually you have to reload them. Most payware have anti-piracy files or roots that will not allow them to work if you move them from their installed folders.

New Computer and Choosing a Sim
Amnmaddox replied to spencerdew's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI have a similar set up as you. Actually I have the same processor and mobo. It handles FSX and FS9 amazingly!!! Go for it. The 770 may be a bit much but if your gonna use lots of addon scenery it will work. I got the 560ti and I stay around 40 FPS all the time even in dense scenery. The SSD may be worth it but I dont see any preformance increase with my SSD. Definately stick with Win7. Win8 has a ton of bugs when it comes to FS.

New FS9 from Australia
If you want a 737 try the iFly. Its alot more realistic and iFly still supports and sells the 737

Cirrus Clouds Only.......?
For cumuus go to you FS.config file and change cloud coverage density from 8 to...say 50. It makes the cumulus clouds thicker and more realistic.

FS9 low fps in fullscreen (not in windowmode)
Do you have AA set in your video card settings? What resolution are you running?
- FPS in FS9 on high end rig
- FPS in FS9 on high end rig

FPS in FS9 on high end rig
My aa in nvidia inspector is at 4x. That's also with ms. No super sample 2x or so on. AF is set at 8x and no AA in the sim and trilinear on. I ran the display at "native" mode for a while. I had about a 10 to 20 FPS drop. I was getting low teens at JFK with that. Now set at 1200x800 I get 25 or so at JFK. My issue with all this is as I change stuff I get no better results. ie...I changed my scenery sliders all to the middle from the far right. No change in fps. I lowered the traffic settings. No change. But if I change the aa to say 16 or 24x in nvidia I get low teens tops! I'm beginning to think the video card might be the issue....smh. I hope anyway lol.
