Maybe you should read previous comments before posting. Nobody was discussing whether something should be a free upgrade or not.

To be honest, I think they just give it away for free because the only thing they need to do is update the objectflow.dll. Everything else will just work out of the box in v4. JV has stated that you don't even need to redownload the add-ons.

P3Dv3 wasn't even announced months ago. As far as I remember, P3Dv3 was only announced a couple of days prior to release. If JV can be so bold to state that the Orbx add-ons will be made compatible with P3Dv4 at no charge, then he must have already tested Orbx stuff in P3Dv4. Otherwise he would be a complete idiot making such a statement without doing some proper testing in P3Dv4. So I'm sure that he (and Rob ;-)) has his hands on a pretty mature beta as we speak and most likely it won't be more than 1-2 months until release.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I have one final question: Is it possible to easily uninstall the FlyInside software? I'm asking because my P3D setup is working exceptionally well and I really have some fear messing around with it. Especially, installing a software which messes with it deeply under the hood.

Yeah. I followed your case quite closely. Also in your own thread on your experiences with the Rift. What really convinced me to try it was that you came back to the Rift despite the fact you returned your initial headset. And the fact that it seems to work for you as a "serious" simmer with the NGX. I'm usually a person who can accept compromises if they are required to make the next step. So I expect to get over the poor resolution. My reluctance has more to do with all the investments I made into "2D technology" like my triple monitor setup and the VR Insight MCP which I will not be able to use with the Rift. Have you tried Leap Motion?

Very interesting thread. Thanks to all who provided feedback on their experiences with the Rift. I think, I will give it a try next week. In the end, I think it is a trade-off of immersion vs. resolution. And the outcome of that trade-off is really subjective. My only fear is that I cannot come back to 2D simming on monitors after trying it. We will see...

SkyMaxx Pro v4 Mountain Flying Video

I don't like it. The clouds are way too transparent. xEnviro looks much better. But hey. To each his own. -
By the way: On the following website, you can easily search for historical weather which suits your preferences at almost any aiport in the world. https://www.wunderground.com/history/ Really no need for customized weather once they have implemented historical weather.

I downloaded the newest version today, but only tried with Autogen lighting off. Maybe I try to turn it back on tomorrow. But thanks for the heads-up!

That was it! Now it works perfectly. Thanks for the quick help! Much appreciated!

Sorry to re-activate this old thread, but I have a slight problem with the scenery. At night, the building textures are semi-transparent and I can see through them which really looks weird. To check, position yourself at gate A2 at night. From that gate, I can see through the textures. Does anybody else also has that problem? Edit: During the day, the textures are perfectly fine and not transparent.

FSLabs A320 for P3D - so is it worth it?
carlito777 replied to Jetset408's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Expect to see slightly worse performance than in the PMDG 777. It is more taxing on the system than the 777. I get around 25 fps at Aerosoft EGLL in it (30+ in the 777). And I'm on a 4770K@4.6 with a GTX1070. If you are not satisfied with the performance then dial back some settings. It is not as hard as many here believe. This bird is so amazing, you will not look out of the window much anyways. ;-) -

Actually, I don't understand why all this bashing is necessary. If you don't like it then get over it and fly a different aircraft. Is it perfect? Not yet, but they will get there. And it is already great in its current state. I have done multiple flights between highly VAS intensive airports and did not have a single OOM yet. -

Yep, that is the only area where I see significant room for improvement. Performance isn't that great yet. Fps are very unstable and creating stutters. The performance is worse than in the PMDG birds. Undocking the 2D PFD and ND panels significantly hampers performance (which is not the case in the PMDG birds). I would love it if they would create a performance optimized VC with less details. Other than the sub par performance, the FSL Labs A320 works flawlessly on my system and in my opinion is the most immersive add-on ever created for FS. -
I have a default flight with the Baron and engines shut down. With this default flight, I can load the A320 directly from the scenerario setup in P3D without any problems and it starts up in Cold and Dark.

The weather representation in the distance looks even better than AS16. -

Is it really that much different to what you would do with a yoke anyways? When flying an approach using the yoke, I have to left hand on the yoke and the right hand on the throttle. So I have always directed the aircraft with my left hand. The only difference is that I now have a joystick in my left hand instead of the yoke. PS: I am right-handed. -
In the newest version it is no problem for me to use Coutl with the bus. Just did a flight from FSDT Geneva to Taxi2Gate Paris with GSX. No problem. Was only a problem in the previous version.

carlito777 replied to Jetset408's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
In P3D I get the same fps as with the PMDG 777. However, the bus is heavier on VAS than the 777. -
I don't have crashes with the new version anymore but had a couple with v192. Those were related to the dreadful Coutl and Addon Manager from FSDT (hate it!). When I deactivated those, the CTDs stopped.

What do you mean by "raw"? It is without SIDs and STARs as any company uplink in the real world would also work. But it includes other data like cruise alt, weights, etc., if that is what you mean. Just like in the PMDG 777. -

Also works if you save the PFPX as a PDF file and put it in the company routes folder of the FSLabs bus. Yes. The 737 is much more hands-on, especially with the Ryanair SOPs. -
