  1. Im not getting it. X-plane developers blog is already there for years, they updated including road maps for YEARS. I use x-plane since v10 and I always knew what is coming due to this blog, like many other users. So what change are you guys talking about? It is not the first time that LR made such an update, it is happening for many years already regardless of any competetion.
  2. Maybe not trolling, but demanding that LR will follow the same marketing rules as others is rather rude imo when you are clearly the one not comprehending that this video is meant to, show an aircraft regardless of the background. Doing that again, and again, and again, and yet again for so many months, may guarantee people think you are trolling. Simple as that, talking about x-plane 12 scenery is currently out of scope, no one saw it yet, when they choose to, they will, then you can judge the goods and the bad of it. Meanwhile me and many others appreciate those "behind the scenes" videos even though they have bad graphics, if you think it is hurting their marketing, so be it, the final product will eventually come out and do the talking.
  3. Based on what? Your experience as a coder?
  4. Imagine the steam deck x-plane 12 out performs the sales of others, this will be a brutal knock out if I may say.
  5. 3 men is not the case for years now, they hired an art team and more coders. They chose the right path, focused on simulation aspects and rerwrite of the rendering engine while silently worked on graphics for post Vulkan/Metal. Otherwise you will be complaining that v12 will break most of your addons and it will be a chaos. So soon we get the fruits, new great graphics, good performance and most important an already rock solid simulation wise platform with a proper SDK. We won't have to wait more than weeks for high quality addons to be updated, they are already in the process to be ready when the time comes. Yes, developing a flight sim to this level takes YEARS. Lastly, adding more and more coders won't really make a "fast forward" effect as you may think and there is a very recent example; The HS CL650 sets a new standart for home simulation addons and was done from the ground up by 2 developers in 3 years "only". While other companies, 4X-5X bigger, on other platforms that are also 1000X bigger, are struggling to port an already exisitng product that might end up not just inferior to the CL650, but also inferior to the same product on another platform. So, thank you LR for taking the right track, can't wait for x-plane 12!
  6. I have no internal knowledge. Sidney from laminar said he tested some Orbx TE and they worked, laminar stated that sceneries should have straight forward compatibility + based on my experience with previous iterations of x-plane. But I think it is rather obvious that new features like 3d trees will need to be updated by the scenery developers, Laminar can't magically update every scenery pack. Some effects like snow however will just work since the default behavior will be "cover everything with snow, unless an artist provided other parameters" FWIW, laminar are traditionally pretty good at making stuff easy for 3rd parties.
  7. How this claim stands based on the fact they chose instead to criticize the visuals of an outdated alpha that was showed for the new airplanes? And please don't give me the "people react to what they see" claim as those same users got a perfect explanation, multiple times, regarding the fact that the scenery they currently see in v12 IS v11 scenery as a placeholder.
  8. Of course I'm talking about the obvious trolls that are deliberately biased + spreading wrong information.
  9. Funny that this is the only video that shows mostly non broken stuff (i.e. how it should work according to LR, what we should expect) and this is the one that got ignored by all the MSFS warriors that came to deteriorate discussions, more so due to the fact this is the one that LR chose to show in their channel and others werecleft for BTS Austin bloopers with Michael Brown. I really do wonder why, motives, interests, ignorance perhaps?
  10. Same people who are never impressed with x-plane are impressed with a dx12 preview mode and sliced billboars trees with trunks dancing in the wind, and a new propwash simulation that drives the plane backward while on ground. I think we all know who those people are here, they are really not that many.
  11. I think you are over estimating the amount of this kind of people. Greazer, rka opinion etc.. is as relevant as a cat choking from a hair ball. They are just vocal, which does not change reality as it is as they literaly got every single predection wrong.
  12. Amazing! It feels like LA is a new focus for the demo (I think they did mention it won't be seattle anymore), New lax, sanata monica, LA landmarks...also a nice spot for the upcoming beaches rendering. Can't wait for a "new global scenery trailer" with all the pieces together. The weather rendering though, wow.
  13. Probably when the scenery stops to be literaly the v11 one as a placeholder while they are working on the new one.
  14. Possibly, but if on one sdk it takes much less time and manpower hence it is better suited. Meanwhile teams that are 4x larger than HS are lagging way behind in that area even when trying to port existing systems. It's not all about "what is possible" more about effciency.
  15. Pretty much only 2 developers (one engineer one artist) managed to create the highest fidelity and immersive aircraft from the ground up for home simulation in a manner of only 3 years due to the "competition" SDK strength. Meanwhile 4X sized teams like PMDG/FENIX are porting existing systems for almost 2 years now (assuming that MSFS did indeed reach them before an official stable release like it's claimed). PMDG is not even in beta yet. And not the top quality anymore. I don't think it's about "MSFS can't do any of that" it's more about the time and manpower that it takes to create something like the CL650 for MSFS, the competition SDK is just blazing powerful + easier and this is even before it's newest major version that will include even more features (Including a weather SDK for the new weather and clouds engine 😎) If you want to know specifically what features it has obviously it's better to revert to the right section instead of ruining another thread here.
  16. When someone does that in the MSFS forum, you are one of the first to ignore and tell him to go back to to his forum. No you want, for some interest, to push MSFS a la promotional content. Otherwise, if your claim was true, you will understand how many wrong claims you personally made through out those last months, maybe even more than a year. And it's also time to stop quoting people who currently work for MSFS (FBW) as they have the biggest interest to defend it. Funny enough when they quote wrong info about other flight sims from the MSFS SDK (very low move by MSFS, very low, no wonder it got deleted but the same claims are still being made), you are also the first one to requote them as a "proof" for MSFS superiority. So no dear @abrams_tank, you are the LAST one in here who can claim he only wants to get accurate information spread.
  17. So much click bait posts by this user that it's becoming to look like a paid promotion 🤣 TL;DR speculations and wishful thinking.
  18. I agree, mostly because: Note the bold line especially. The ryzen3000 are still very good for the next few years as well imo.
  19. Dude, here you go, i'll give you a reaction just as you probably want XD
  20. Ugly is subjective, and as you just agreed, not suitable for real time rendering. As for trees meant to write 2X larger but finger slipped towards the number 3, sorry about that I guess.
  21. imo your priorities for VFR are not on par of what needed for reality. If you are navigating in reality based on ground colors, you are doing it wrong and will probably get lost. what about seasons? weather effects? all those may affect the ground colors. What you need for VFR is what you see on your map, you can't see roof colors, nor specific landmarks buildings. You see mesh, landclass, roads, waterbodies, powerlines, major obstacles. Anything beyond that is pure eye candy, and for eye candy autogen is MUCH better than photogrammetry imo.
